Just saw this show, Toto was fantastic... Journey was very good as well, but we really came to see these guys. So Awesome! If Toto were the headliner, they'd have blown the roof off.
I've been following this newest version of Toto. I must say since I purchased the live DVD with a little help from my friends they have been really great!!! All the feedback I have heard is that they pretty much steal the show from Journey. Have to see where they go next. Steve L is going out with Ringo later this year so probably won't see them again till 2023 earliest
Timit Biscuit Toto had to cancel their headline tour playing theaters when the Journey gig became available, but Luke said they will make up every single show that got canceled. I think he does 40 shows with Ringo, so that'll take him through the summer, so I'm hoping for a fall 2022 Toto headline tour. I've heard the same thing, Toto steals the show from Journey night after night. This new lineup is like a blood transfusion. New life, new energy for this legendary band. And great to see David Paich at a couple shows.
@2v_5r84 and they still rescheduled their headlining dates. I have tickets to the Toto headline show coming up in St Louis. Don't be too sure about the Journey tour. WIth Steve Perry suing Jon Cain and Neal Schon, and Neal and Jon currently suing each other, and Neal inviting Greg Rollie to be part of the 50th anniversary tour, and two members (Jon Cain) opposing allowing the cofounder from performing with Journey, and Cain's wife threatening to sue Steve Lukather for saying something less than flattering about her in public, forcing Luke to publicly apologize, it's hard to believe that this tour won't get cancelled, and even if it goes on those shows are going to be terrible.

It really depends on the line up and arrangements of it. Musically 1982 and 1990 had the best live versions of Africa but not so much vocally as Bobby was stoned during alot of shows and Jean Michel Byron. Pffttt. Live version's from the mid 90's-the late 2000's were ok but 2015-2019 was when they started to become good again as Lenny Castro came back and brought much more depth to the song and for a short time a more of the original line up. Hats off for Luke from being in the band since day 1 and Joe for still being a great singer.
Well I just saw Toto for the first time in March 2022 and they were FANTASTIC. Nothing to compare them to. I loved them, enjoyed them better than Journey cause they were fresh since I've seen Journey so MANY times.........

Sad that they fell out with Bobby Kimball, but I love Joseph Williams being in this song with David Paich! Steve Lukather is irreplaceable on guitar!

I dont like nowadays concert versions of Africa. They were much better in 2013/2014 and 1982.
