Me too. I love this group. They are freaking awesome! The sheer talent of every band member makes their music in the highest of highs. To hear this version of "Africa" makes me want to be at the concert and dance to the percussion of Lenny Castro. Woo Hoo! Oh my goodness. I think Joseph did sing the choruses playback. Because in many other versions he has opened his eyes like in the last chorus when he sings "i bless the rain, i will an do bless the rain, it's gonna take some time"
"Percussion" is kinda the role they give the guy who probably shouldn't be the drummer but still wants to be in the band... surround him with a bunch of toys, let him bang on stuff along with the beat like some guy in line at the post office jamming on his medium sized shipping box to the Michael Bolton elevator music.

I agree. Phillips was/is a beast on the drums, such a shame he had to leave. He made such an excellent team with either Nathan East or Lee Sklar on the bass. This drumming is dawdling by comparison.
rewatching the video, it does look like Shannon Forrest to me. But, the experts should tell us, as, when I listened to the video, this was my first question I asked myself, too !!!! as drumming is a big part of this song!
