In order to get the clouds more textures, I use a Q-tip to make them. Thank you for sharing these ideas. I made a green gradient for the flowers, and light blue and light grey for the rainbow, as it always occurs after rain, and the sky is a bit greyish after the rain. (At least here in Norway) :)
Rainbows is my favourite though the clouds is also super cute and easy and I think would look so good over a gradient (sunset, sunrise, dusk/twilight). My first thought for the rainbows was to do the diy decals painting on something like a ziplock bag or silicone mat. I think I could possibly freehand it alright on my left hand but as a righty that my left hand wouldn’t be stable enough. For the clouds you could use a cotton swab instead of a dotting tool and get a softer less cartoony look. I know I’ve seen videos in the past showing cotton swabs as dotting tool alternatives but I also recently saw a manicure on refinery29 of these transparent nail extensions with a blue jelly base colour and then clouds made with cotton swabs and it looked really nice (except for the nails so long I’d stab myself part that’s really not for me).
