Thomas Frisby I will rush home every Sunday night to watch that show I Love Trains I eat and sleep and breathe Railroad specially the Pennsylvania Railroad and the New York Central and the b&o
I remember in the sixties every Train Shop had a train in the window that you could watch. Back when all the train shops were run by train people because they were in love with trains and Did It For the Love of change not for any idea of making a fortune. I know one shop in Florida adult hobbies that had a TT gauge Model Railroad in the window.
Im part of a trian club called the Lower Anthracite Model Railroad Club in Shamokin Pennsylvania. Its HO scale describing the Pennsy, Reading, and Lehigh Valley Railroad back in the 90s.
Early Lionel trains were not made of tin. Tin is too soft (mostly alloyed with copper to make bronze or lead to make solder). Lionel's were tin-plated steel, hence the slogan "tin-plate." The tin prevented rust.
I love older Lionel trains and will take the most damaged piece I can find and rebuild it. I have 2 dislikes though, number 1 is they are now made in china, I have purchased a couple sets and they are just not made with the quality of previous US made trains, they look good but sadly I have had issues with transformers and switches on engines therefore I don't buy new Lionel. Second and this is just a personal thing, I wish they had body mounted couplers instead of truck mounted ones.
The three rail track serves an important reason. It gives the operator unlimited flexibility in operation and configuration of track plans, while not confounding the design with electrical problems... Such as reversing loops...
Thank you. I have always Loved model electric trains, especially Lionel.
thank you Joshua for the wonderful childhood memorys in christmas times and in model railroading

Is his name Cowen or Cohen ?
John Smith He changed it from Cohn to Cowen due to antisemitism in the early 20th Century toy industry.
Not another phone jack
52 seconds of intro? Seriously?
I always hated Lionel's three rail track....why fuss about being realistic when you aren't even running on realistic track.

@@superobob228 that is a myth. with modern electronics two rail is no problem.
I hate 2 rail. To each their own.
