Seriously, thank you soo so much for your generosity in sharing this knowledge. Not only learning how to work with this application but also feeling the time and patience and thoroughness you've put into these lessons is life-changing. So grateful for you, thank you
Another top class tutorial. Thank you so much. One of the features in these videos that really stands out is you take the time to explain everything thoroughly. Many others are saying "Let me quickly show you this". You really understand the learning process and how best to disseminate knowledge and know-how. You would make an excellent law professor. You remind me the star professor at King's London. You are exactly like him.
MIND BLOWN ! Brand new to Logic Pro X - Had no idea of the capabilities within "piano roll" for writing in individual note one at a time, or for playing notes and editing out errors - SO HELPFUL! THANK YOU!! In fact, the amount of "options" and applications contained within Logic Pro X is really beyond imagining what it took for its design features to be accomplished ! ~
Thank you for your descriptions. I’m completely blind, so I appreciate you using the terms that Logic uses, and also keystrokes. Voiceover uses the Logic’s terms to identify things, so when you use the term Inspector, that’s what Voiceover uses. Or if you were to talk about piano roll and other things. Even if it’s not visually name, the fact that you are describing it that way means that I can find it. And the fact that you are describing what keystrokes to use also means I don’t have to look it all up in the keyboard manager all the time. I really appreciate how you do your videos.
I've been a Digital Performer user from DP 2.7 right up to DP 10. I've had to learn a bit about Logic to work with someone who uses it, and little by little I have started to lean to Logic. I think your videos may have pushed me over the edge. Excellent instruction. Thanks.
Gratitude beyond measure! I hope you’re cashing in big time on the ads, you deserve it! I started these a year ago and am into my third album now. Still tweaking the first two as I learn more but after YEARS of wishing to hear all these songs fleshed out, you’ve made it possible. It’s nice watching this particular series as a refresher and picking up little tidbits that got past me before (like CMD+U YES!) and Force Legato (doing my happy dance!). Six albums to go and I’ll have my 18 years worth of material down. Looking forward to writing within the studio after that! Thanks again, Joshua, you’re the best! Couldn’t have done it without you...Now if someone can just teach me when to consider a project finished haha
Thank you so much for all of your hard work and dedication to the musicality of all kinds! Thanks for sharing! I thank God for you sir! Your videos are, so far, the most thorough and yet concise in explication, demonstration and overall teacher student pedagogy! So thank you very much! I've subscribed and will be watching the series on Logic! Thanks and God Bless you!
Love the keyboard midi labels. It only works with imported midi or logic drums. I use addictive drums 2 and perfect drums. I valiantly tried to dive deep into logic and make it possible to show labels all the time. Wish logic would make this a possibility, easily achievable...
I would agree , cleared a lot up for me already so thank you!,I did have a question though. If this is not the right forum for this please let me know.Im a little new to this. Is it possible to can I use the midi port w/ Midi cable -to USB (powered)adapter to iPhone lightning to phone. Purpose is to create a track in pro logic( w Scarlett 18i20 )where I am trying to cover a song for practice w/system. Wanting to hear it through headphones while practice or recording .That way I can hear through interface and control levels in relation to drums that are w/ microphones (7 total) and use remaining input for iPhone to play along with. At the moment all I can do is use my boothtooth BEATS and tray to hear the drums by adjusting headphones while I play. Any thoughts ? And again Thank You for your video 101 series, its already cleared up tons!!!!
I'm not 100% sure what you are asking, but if you want to control levels while practicing or performing, I'd say your best bet is to download the Logic Remote app from the App Store. It's available for iPhones and iPads. You can use Logic Remote as a wireless mixer to control sound sources in your project. If you used your iPhone with a MIDI port, you'd be using it as a MIDI controller, I guess? But you can still do this using the Logic Remote app without the need for any cables. There used to be a product called iRig MIDI that I used to use to hook up my phone as a MIDI controller, or as a mobile synthesizer, but it's very outdated, and not really necessary now that Logic Remote is around.
When I tried using the Step-In Keybaord tool, even when I clicked the MIDI-In button the notes did not play when I played them on my keyboard? Am I doing this wrong, I've tried watching that part over and over but I just can't seem to do it right. Help MusicTechHelpGuy
Thank you for this video. Quick question: if you have a midi pattern from an instrument (let's say a drum machine) can you change the instruments for that midi pattern? For example, if I got the midi pattern from a drum machine and they're in the DAW,, can I change those notes to a bass or a guitar or a piano in Logic?
Thanks for the this, the step editor was very useful. One thing I would say is making midi note velocity the same on the bass and keys kills the human element and sounds too robotic. Midi transform (humanise) is great for making this sound more natural. I guess you may be covering this later....
In rock and pop music, you usually don’t want the bass dynamics to move too much. With wave files this is done with compression. With that said Humanize is certainly a cool and important tool!
why does my space designer looks different as yours, the space designer in Logic Studio looked same as yours, now we both have Pro X, don't know why mine looks different
SO. MANY. GOD. DAMNED. ADS. These videos are great and I would happily pay for them, but the fucking ads are driving me nuts. How the hell can I make them go away?
Without ads, these videos would not be free. You are more than welcome to purchase the entire Logic Pro X 101 course at my website. AD-FREE. www.carneymediagroup.com/courses/2018/12/10/logic-pro-x-101-introduction-to-logic-12-part-course

I start to feel like "I can do the music, even though I still can't but I ACTUALLY CAN DO SOMETHING on music" Oh that feeling is amazing. Thank you

As always that was a gret tutorial,
What's the difference between 'merge and flatten' and 'join'?
Thanks
How do you get the magnifier view? Is that built into os x? All I see is rectangle so maybe it's a 3rd party app?
Hi, Is part 6 done yet? cant find it anywhere!
I'm doing it today. Haven't had a free day in a week to get it done, but I finally do today. Should be out later tonight.
Much appreciated! I know how you feel!

gaudy colors lol...but very good video. thanks.
Thought he said 'sexualised' instead of 'sectionalised'
I didn't catch it the first time through, but yeah, definitely heard that the second time. Probably just a slip of the tongue.
