Spine was unkillable even on normal on PTR. The whole raid was ported every few seconds to the same spot, not far from where you land when you first start the encounter.
We managed to tear off the first plate, but then you literally could not even get to the second plate, because you all were rubber-banded back to the same spot lol
We had a bug with Hagara where all the adds before the fight were spawning at weird times and places, then Hagara spawned while we were still fighting the adds, pulled with the adds, then another Hagara spawned immediately sending the first Hagara into phase 2 early while the second one was in phase 1. Was very interesting.

We had 3 hagara's stacked on top of each other. they just kept spawning kek :D
oh hey altar, yeah that was pretty sick. We had hagaara spawn before all adds were killed then a second hagaara spawned as we were killing more trash.

Normal i would honestly say is pretty approachable, you'll be fine, you'll have LFR to get some loot from before you even need to walk in the raid

We got face rolled by the tentacle ball man as well. We got 2 bosses down on heroic, but only raided Friday.
We managed to do the 6 bosses on 10hc but Zon'ozz was a pain, and Gunship Battle v2 is no joke also

What order do you recommend people prog bosses week 1? Like how hard is ultraxion, gunship hagara vs the first 3 ? Also, as someone who stopped playing after cata initially, would be nice to get a video talking about the 'good' classes in mop so we can start planning what to play. Thanks for the vids.
Depends how many competent healers you have. That's the main bottleneck for zonozz/ooze guy/ultraxion
Ultraxion is just a throughput and 'can you click a button' check. So it shouldn't be too bad, its a very simple fight - just hits hard and needs good raid dps.
Hagara and Gunship are more complex fights with personal responsibility and tankbuster mechanics. You'll probably be doing those somewhere in the middle of progression.
The two Faceless bosses are chaotic nightmares, they'll probably be last on your list before doing Spine and Madness.
Definitely a step up from Firelands, but despite that, it was actually a lot of fun; Hopefully by the time it's going live they've have fixed the issues.
What was your Timer addons? ( other than ability timeline weakaura)

25 perspective - Morchok easy if you stack healers, although the double damage stomp will be inconvenient for some raids. If you don't have two rogues you'll have to make your hpals do it or run some platebois in stam gear. Yorsahj a lot of guilds were 7 healing because they were bad at purple, but if you can manage purple effectively you can drop 1-2. The Red-yellow-black combo is cracked though, you need constant cooldowns. Zonozz is a wall, lots of planning & a bit of class stacking needed as well as a big healer/dps check. Hagara is easy even if fixed. Ultraxion was broken; wasn't doing any of his raid damage and you had to get an item off an NPC to do the hour of twilight mechanic because the extra action button isn't implemented. Warmasters on par with zonozz, more coordination needed than numbers though. Spine was untestable, you get teleport spammed to the start spot. But in OG you had to heavily class stack to make the DPS check on tendons, so we're waiting to see if we'll be getting pre or post nerf tendon health. Madness who knows, couldn't get past spine.

I'm surprised by the reaction. I remember DS being significantly harder than Firelands so I'm surprised people are being caught off-guard.
The only real challenge on HC (comparatively) in Firelands was Rag really, maybe Domo? The rest, unless you were stalling and going for Leg Staff shards and the like, were otherwise a cakewalk.
By comparison Dragon Soul was a step above almost from the on-set. It's part of the reason people say T13 is 'mandatory' and are 'forced' to run LFR, because it feels like they tuned it around people having those sets.
Scott i'm really looking forward to your MoP class review videos! Never played MoP and i'm interested in seeing what was good and what was bad. Start with Warlock *wink wink*

Warlocks and mages still do tons of dps in MoP. In PvP though warriors are S-tier.
My guild took 45 wipes on heroic 25m to kill warlord
10 man was buggy, 25 man felt harder than I remember but could be wrong
You would have ended DS in OG cata with a 30% buff don’t forget.
My guild managed to beat zonozz in 25 hc and after 35 wipes it boils down to raid stacking and micromanaging the melee groups, the damage is just insane and the dps is just not enough, you might need to force another tentacle phase to burn the boss using a spirit link on the raid and avoid the enrage, very fun raid for players that love the challenge but im afraid these fights are hard to cheese so irs going to break a lot of players.

Did DS as a 10m hardcore group and it was the best raiding I ever did. It felt as hard as ICC.

Zon'ozz is absurdly overtuned or flat out bugged.
On 25 normal he was building stacks so fast we had to let the orb hit him immediately or our 387 ilvl tank would get 1 shot. That meant going through almost the entire fight with the massive AoE going on. Absolutely idiotic.
Was there originally a nerf for DS? Firelands was faceroll on PTR cause it was nerfed version initially and gave everyone a chance to refine strats etc. Maybe that's why its not quite so face roll. Also raid damage is pretty high in dragon soul, haven't had quite that much damage going out in the 2 previous tiers so healers need to wake up before it becomes faceroll. I'm sure the crap healers that have been cruising through will stick out like dogs balls quite quickly and lose their raid spots.
Normal is faceroll. I remember Heroic absolutely wrecking face. The difficulty jump is quite extreme, moreso then any of the other tiers.
@Scottejaye Although the numbers match with the dungeon journal (Warlord Zon'ozz), you can look at boss kill videos from back then, and there is no way that the damage being dealt should be as high as it is. Essentially, a 10 man's 3 healers must be perfect to make the fight possible. Even on buffed Cata private servers, the fight isn't tuned correctly. Also, the boss doing the same amount of damage to the tank in 10 and 25 is not accurate.

Seeing how we will have Dragon Soul for about 8 months this sounds great.
We can have around 4 months of this, 2 months of a nerfed state and 2 months of MoP pre-patch.
Probably the best split with the currently announced timeline.

8months of any raid tier sounds completely awful
As someone who did this content completely back in the day- I hope you enjoy it, but I think you’ll quickly tire of it.
Hes not kidding about the set bonuses, trinkets, etc absolutely invalidating these fights. I would imagine most semi serious guilds will have this cleared in a couple months, and since it’s the end content patch the player drop will likely be pretty significant. Cant speak for everyone of course, but I’d be shocked if a substantial amount of the remaining cataclysm players that are actively raiding, will be in eager to go back in to dragon soul even around 4 months after release. A dead horse but people always complained about the scenery, but the complaints about dragon soul being out for too long were very early on set also because other fights are fairly monotonous. Unlike other tiers this expansion, the flexibility in how you handle trash, RP, and several mechanics have little variance to in terms of how you can skip/invalidate/ etc things. And although that’s not how everyone plays cataclysm, I’d wager a large portion of players that do raid at a high level find enjoyment in those things.
Examples of this in previous tiers being double stacking buffs to your mages in BoT, through 10/25m ID cheese. Cleaving omni, chain stacking gongs to keep attamedes perma debuffed, blasting through memorials cycle of potions/having a paladin martyr themselves in p3 to have full uptime on the boss. Soloing nef adds to get more uptime on nef sooner, various trash skips and jank in FL, etc etc. there is far less of that and a lot more chore for DS.
But who knows, maybe the community views it differently but my experience on private servers is as that it still had a similar reception to back then

What we get in May/June (Summer) is the pre-patch. I wish we had actual Pandaria for then. Would be better for the game.

Well Morchok was pretty okay to play like yorshaj. we killed both and figured out that Zonoz is buggy in some debuffs and the orbs wont trigger always cause the hotbox was shit.

The harder the content, the less appealing it will be to Classic raiders. I know the loudest voices disagree, but you've already had videos that prove when the content is easier, WAY more people play the game.
That's exactly it! My guild managed to get 6/7 HC down for the first time this ID, and along the way, we lost several members because they simply had no desire or fun wiping for weeks on some damn bosses. We have one raid night, so we don’t have unlimited time, just because those damn streamers and sweatys want everything to be difficult. If you want a challenge, play Retail, or they bring a nerf every week starting from week 2 to make things more easy. The sweatyboys have to raid with multiple characters anyway, they’ll be happy if things go faster, at least once they’ve cleared everything once. After that, they don’t care either. But small, weaker guilds just break apart because of this crap.
Those about whom you write remained somewhere behind and did not go into a cataclysm. Classic addons are too different. People who play cataclysm, for the most part, on the contrary, crave more complex content that would be similar to retail, and we are already moving in this direction and will reduce this distance every year.

Ahh, so the majority of players want very difficult content? That's why we had so few players in Naxx, and in Ulduar, everyone was really excited about the lovely bosses.
We don’t even need to discuss the fact that this is nonsense. Yes, there is definitely a portion of players who want difficult content, and maybe it's even more than just streamers and sweatys. But if you look at the numbers, they are definitely the minority.
And back then, it wasn't as hard as it is now, at least not for that long. What many people forget is that back then, nerfs were coming constantly. You can even tell by the way people remember bosses: "Yeah, that one was super easy back then," while completely ignoring that their memory is based on the final version of the boss, after multiple nerfs.
The best solution would be something like ICC, with a buff that gets stronger every week. And for those who want it harder, they can simply turn it off.
@@vincentraider8320 there is 0 reason people should struggle on these fights though, because even if they were 20% harder it’s all going to be a complete walk over. We know what happens, or look at a video and you then know. My opinion on this though is normal should be the easiest version that anyone can do with there eyes closed, then bump heroic up as much as they can and slowly nerf over time just like they do now in retail

yea so this was rough lmao, were trying to 2 heal a lot of the bosses. 1st boss easy to 2 heal, but the other two, boy its NUTS. We're going back next week and hoping to get further.
Yea i kept getting stuck healing as an ele main >.< It sucked lol!
@@Scottejayewe’re most likely having to force our ele shaman in to resto for the fights where it’s impossible to 2 heal. Got the ooze dude down to 52% with disc and holy paladin but night had to end early, some more pulls and I think we might have it!
We got to ultraxion 10mH and the aoe damage just wasnt happening at all.
25 man feels overtuned to me, some bosses are barely healable with 6 healer, some people are progressing with 7 healers or more.
Afair, top guilds would split ptr for the tier 13 cu 4 ser was op on tanks (shield wall affected raid wide i think it was)

Normal should be some-what face roll so all the dads and casuals and regular players can experience it and if you're a chad or in a giga guild you do the heroic version and it's tough and a flex and has a better ilvl. Is that not a good idea?

Looking at historical Forum posts etc, they do say Zon'ozz was harder on 10 man, so it seems accurate.
Can we not have something that they tune to be super difficult so they can use the lack of clears as an excuse to delay MoP?
We’re barely enjoying FL, easier content brings players back, and this should be a short hop on the train- don’t overtune it Blizz.

Once you get your tank four set bonuses and some gear all the hps/dps checks will get WAY easier. The tier set bonuses are MASSIVE in DS so a few weeks gear will completely change how hard the raid is.
Just do LFR then if you don't want a challenge.
Nah OG heroic 10m was hella tough back in the day. The damage was a lot and 25m was “easier” because we had more heals for raid cds. But it made it so much fun

Your logic makes zero sense. There is so many awful players in 25. I run both and the fact you’re going to say 10 is for bad players when in 25 you can legitimately just ignore mechanics and mash your keyboard. 10 man is way more unforgiving.
