Great list again - a good selection of titles and single issues not currently referred to by others. Oh - another reason to be interested in the Fantasy Masterpieces V:2 run are the Jim Starlin Warlock stories also reprinted! Last thing: When Miracleman is brouhgt up I always refer to Warrior Magazine #1 where Alan Moore's Miracleman AND V for Vendetta both begin - and they are more difficult to find in high grade because these British magazines are taller than American magazine measurements, so they aren't as well protected by the bags, boards and Mylars normally available.

Hey Drew! You know how much my sons and I look forward to these videos. We've even been able to pick up a couple of your recommended reads. You are totally on-point with the importance of being patient. We just picked up a Captain America 25 high grade raw copy for $25. We've actually been picking up DD 228-231 also, as they've eminently more affordable, and what is arguably one of the best DD storylines ever written. Looking forward to more videos!!

Nice list Drew, great advice for new collectors...it's so nice to have an expert talking about raw book and story arcs as so many YT channels talk only about CGC grade, cover art, what they're selling for, locked in a case you'll never be able to read (or get that very nostalgic silver age comic smell that takes you back to your childhood!). Keep up the great series!

@@CoMoComicBooks Yep, I can understand why folks want to better preserve certain of their comics and probably exponentially increase the price they could get IF they wanted to sell. For a collection worth a fortune it would cost a fortune to have that done! Thanks for taking the time to reply Drew, have a great week!

I love the potential of old school reprints as the OG books price almost everyone out. I recently scored a copy of Fantasy Masterpieces #1, as well as Amazing Adventures (X-Men) #1. I also have a long list of Marvel Tales issues, starting with 106 (reprinting 1st app of Punisher), and several others that I will realistically never own in it's "original" presentation. I also managed to snag a reprint of Black Panther's first appearance, and to my surprise, it is a double cover copy! I don't know if the current high-quality reprints of many key issues that Marvel and DC are putting out will overshadow these bronze age reprints but I'm not too sure I care. To have a relatively old book with that vintage comic book feel and smell is pretty damn important, and something the recent reprints will never have in their favor.
    Great video once again! Thanks!

Any chance you could do some videos
On DC key issues of the 1970s ???

I would like to collect some of these.
    Thanx!!!!

You definitely have included DC books!
      It just seems that,
      many collectors favor Marvel books.
Alot of DC stories from the 1970's were pretty good.
It is hard to collect all brands and era's.
      After many years of collecting,
I decided to just specialize in 70's DC..
Your videos are so well done, with informative info about each book!
I figured maybe this would be good for some additional videos, here and there.
      Great channel!!! Thank You!!!

Always loving Wrightson art, so yay for Swamp Thing 9.
Fun fact: In that issue, Swamp Thing returns to the swamp where he was spawned, in the Houma, Louisiana area.
Why Houma? Supposedly, it's because Houma is mentioned at the beginning of the EC story, "Horror We? How's Bayou?" which was published in Haunt of Fear issue 17 way back in 1953, and has been reprinted a zillion times since then. (It's a story about a man who puts out fake "Detour" signs to guide unwary motorists to his home, whereupon they serve as victims for the man's homicidal brother. But things go... all to pieces... for this fellow.)

Great list. Glad to see Swamp Thing #9 get some love. Nabbed it 4 years ago in a 9.6 white pages for a very reasonable price. Some books in a similar vein might be Spectre #9 (1969 awesome Nick Cardy), Strange Adventures #207 (1967 classic Neal Adams - Deadman) and Beware the Creeper #6 (1969 by Gil Kane) although coloring kind of sucks.
