Carl Barks! When my kids were small (first decade of this century), I read them Carl Barks all the time, and today we still reference favourite lines. Entertaining video. I didn't know anything about that Pep run.
@@CoMoComicBooks "In Baghdad my Baghdad bag factory got in bad with the Baghdad big dads because of a bad sag the bags had." Uncle Scrooge. But I can't recall the name of the story.
Thanks! That’s the goal Chris! I’m not going to say I haven’t talked about the same book more than once, but I try to keep it to a minimum or only do it when it changes budget levels or something like that.
Thanks for the video Drew. I really appreciate all your research and effort to put out good content. Looking forward to the next one. Keep grinding bro!✌️
I love everything about your lists, and always look forward to them! Although I will say It would’ve been cool to have a picture of Detective Comics 31 pop up at #2 so we could’ve compared them
true story. I purchased the NYX book by accident back in 2004. When Covid hit, I decided to finally bite the bullet and put my collection in electronic form. Ran across this, and was super surprised to find it in my collection. 🙂
It’s so much pricier now than it was just 10 years ago when I started on it. That said, it’s still every bit as cool. It is hard to doubt how iconic that title is. It may not have the wildest of covers, but that name recognition is top notch.
So many of those early four colors are brutal to find in high grade. As much as that is a pain for collectors, it kinda makes me happy, because they were used as intended. Those things were read to death and passed through SO many hands that enjoyed them.
Some very interesting choices on this list, might I make a suggestion? How about destroyer Duck number 1? The book has a great history and it also is the first appearance of Groo the wanderer. Both the backstory and the first appearances of the book make for great discussion.
Hero For Hire #1 is on my list. I already have 2-9. I will settle for raw on this book. Even a VG will do. Interesting info on that Four Color 189 Crazy how much Batman 227 is going for. I got mine for a mere $80 about 10 years ago and it is probably around a 7.0 - 7.5 Thanks for another interesting video.
Awesome list.. I’ve been looking for a Batman 227 for some time, but ppl are holding onto their copies. The few that come up for sale are either too banged up or marked up too much for my taste. Thanks for posting Como!
Most just collect GL 9 for the first cover of Sinestro. But it seems lost on most collectors that it's also the first yellow ring. The yellow ring is a such major cornerstone of the GL lore. It's crazy how much this book is so overlooked.
That was my Donald Duck Four Color 189 that sold for $205.50. I had it raw and listed for $80 for awhile and nobody wanted it. I still have some Golden Age Disney
Sounds like you did pretty well on it at least! Isn’t it funny how things work out sometimes? I don’t know how many books I find that people pass at low prices, but once I mark it up, it’s gone.
Hey thank for the video ! I'll subscribe! Question for you though if you please... When and why did the 1st appearance of THE CREATURE COMMANDOS spike Weird war tales 1970s 1ST. APP. ? ALSO do you see these as something that is going to crash or just slowly rise over time ? Thanks for your time. Got a copy of it and a TON of other joe kubert covers from the 1970s from my father's late friend and I just kinda got into comics . I am an artist looking to make a book soon though!
I believe Creature Commandos was on James Gunn’s DCU slate of projects, which is what shot it out of obscurity. I wouldn’t consider it a long hold at all. Ride the lift, but cash in before the movie hits if flipping it is your long term goal with it. Welcome to the channel!
I got x23 first appearance. Unfortunately it has a signature when I bought it from Joshua with no proof. I emailed Joshua he said it looks like his and he believe it to be true but no proof so more than likely it will hurt the price a lot. >.< even though its in great condition
If you’re talking about me, I haven’t sold on eBay in years and I don’t believe I have a copy of any of these right now, actually. Thanks for playing though!
Yeah, the same old list of said "usual suspects" are SO DAMN BORING that those books are not sexy anymore, regardless of how hot or valuable they are... Thank you for being refreshing!!!! I literally don't care about ASM 300 or HULK 181 anymore....
Sam, this is what I call the “big” video. They always feature more expensive books. If you’re new to the channel, the three previous Top 10s (which I do each one seasonally) are for budgets of $100, $50, and $20. It sounds like those may be of more interest to you.
I'm not a buyer either. But I love learning about the history of these comics. Didn't know about that Pep run of Archie, for example. Very interesting.
That’s pretty much what we do around here. Nowhere do I tell anyone to go out and buy or that they need anything. A lot of these books are as affordable now as they have been in years. So it’s a good opportunity for people who were priced out during the recent boom. These lists are simply meant to bring awareness to collectors and to talk some about the books themselves, beyond just their value.
Carl Barks! When my kids were small (first decade of this century), I read them Carl Barks all the time, and today we still reference favourite lines. Entertaining video. I didn't know anything about that Pep run.
Barks is the man! I wish I had a few of his classic story issues in my collection.
@@CoMoComicBooks "In Baghdad my Baghdad bag factory got in bad with the Baghdad big dads because of a bad sag the bags had." Uncle Scrooge. But I can't recall the name of the story.
I love your lists. You don’t recycle all the usual suspects. Thanks!!
Thanks! That’s the goal Chris! I’m not going to say I haven’t talked about the same book more than once, but I try to keep it to a minimum or only do it when it changes budget levels or something like that.

Well done 👏 Anticipating your autumn list thanks.
I really enjoy watching these lists! Thanks for your efforts in doing them bro! 🙂
Thanks Kenny! I’m glad you’re getting value out of them.
FC189 is a masterpiece in every respect! Buy it raw to enjoy it.
Yet another great list! Thank you for this!
Great picks man! As always!!
A logical list of books for collectors to add to their collection. Hurray!
Thanks for watching Joe! I’m glad you liked the list!
Wow! Thanks for all that analysis on Bats 227. That was super helpful as I have to two more grails to get this year!
You’re welcome! I’m glad you got value out of it!
Love all those books. And the nyx 3 is one of my favorites all time. Good job sir
Thanks for watching! NYX3 is one of those that I wish I still had a few of. I don’t come across them much anymore.
Totally totally agree about Sinestro. Got a 6.5 WP for $300 last week.
I love everything about your lists, and always look forward to them! Although I will say It would’ve been cool to have a picture of Detective Comics 31 pop up at #2 so we could’ve compared them
I definitely had that thought at one point, but late night editing kept it from happening. 🥱😴

Great list of must haves!
Thanks for watching! I’m glad you enjoyed the video!
New sub here! Your channel is exactly what ive been looking for!! Keep up the great work!!
Welcome to the channel! I’m glad you’re enjoying the content!
Always wanted to get into collecting tales from the crypt. Grew up watching it and shows like it

Old Castle's Secret is a tough book to find if you want one thats not just a rag! Same with four color 29!
So many of those early four colors are brutal to find in high grade. As much as that is a pain for collectors, it kinda makes me happy, because they were used as intended. Those things were read to death and passed through SO many hands that enjoyed them.
@@CoMoComicBooks i agree 100%! Plus imho someday the real value will catch up to these books especially the 7.0's and higher! 🤠🤞

Good picks and thoughts.

I hear that. I don’t have one myself. I had one on consignment t early this year, but it was a little too rough to hold onto personally.
Thanks for showing some undervalued gems.
Anytime!
Many of these I picked up a few years ago because I saw the same potential in them.
I had my DD 16 signed by Romita a few years back.
Great list, thanks !
Thanks for checking it out!!!

I have to admit, until I started researching for the video, I didn’t know that myself! Definitely an overlooked element!
How much could I get for..(marvel team up spiderman..#6,,#2,#1
Venom 2099 A.D..
#38. #37

I think Superman 61 is a huge key that has incredible upside, I have 2 copies and I want more!!
Same some for me!!! Thanks for watching!
Good list! Good video!

I feel NYX has a lot of potential for the future crossing fingers
Nyx 3 first appearance of X23 is undervalued finally. It’s like getting a ultimate fall out 4 but 5 years ago
It’s was definitely hot for a while around Logan. It’s one I wish o still had a few copies of though.
You should definitely do more golden age videos
Golden age key superman books you will never go wrong
I have a feeling that a certain pick on this may have resonated with you!!! 😉
Aaah yah Superman Kryptonite issue 😃👌💯
I'd like to thank you for making me feel famous for buying that Tales 46 for $500. You are correct, it was an outlier.
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Well done! And thanks for watching!
That's crazy because kids are doing all type of crazy things now. Thank you for the list keep up the great work
One day we’ll get it figured out… 🤣
I got x23 first appearance. Unfortunately it has a signature when I bought it from Joshua with no proof. I emailed Joshua he said it looks like his and he believe it to be true but no proof so more than likely it will hurt the price a lot. >.< even though its in great condition
Batman #227, can I ask what a cgc 7 sells at ?
How much was a certified Wizard X-Men 1/2 going for when it came out?
I don’t have any visibility on that one. I don’t believe it was on my radar.
AMS 122 holds and doesn't really pop uo. No ugency on getting it.
It’s definitely more of a slow steady grind. One of those books you can forget about for a bit and then realize it’s gone up by $50-$100.
ASM 16 is Spider-Man and Daredevil’s first encounter.
Yep! Preceded this issue by several months. DD was still rocking the yellow suit!
Great video! But what about Amazing Spider-Man #2...I'm asking for a friend.
You’ll never hear me talk bad about ASM2!
Here's my recommendation: Worlds Finest 153, the meme of Batman slapping Robin
That one had hit my radar at one point, but it didn’t work for the budget level I was working on that week and I forgot to come back to it.
Also known as what am selling on my hidden ebay today.
If you’re talking about me, I haven’t sold on eBay in years and I don’t believe I have a copy of any of these right now, actually. Thanks for playing though!
CORRECTION: I do have a Hero for Hire 1. I think that’s it though.
Yeah, the same old list of said "usual suspects" are SO DAMN BORING that those books are not sexy anymore, regardless of how hot or valuable they are... Thank you for being refreshing!!!! I literally don't care about ASM 300 or HULK 181 anymore....

Great video…can’t afford any of those. Thanks for a waste of time

The train left the depot YEARS AGO on all these issues. BUY WHAT YOU LOVE, NOT WHAT SOMEONE TELLS YOU YOU NEED.....!!!!

Was that a cat meow at 2:49?
🤣 Probably. My cat Deckard is a jerk. I was hoping that it didn’t pick up in the mic, but I must have missed it during the edit.
