  • Using Tipo Man's fix to reduce CPU load on this SoC. Currently, it feels a bit jerky to fly, even though the recorded video comes out smooth. Latency is low 30's to over 50ms, consistently inconsistent. I think the processor is still struggling. A shame it's not as nice to fly as my other board, because the image @ 120fps is sharper than on the board with the better processor/different sensor. That being said it is still flyable to at least 15Mbit/s. There is a bluey purple tinge in the shadows. The more you adjust settings to bring out details in the shadows, the more bluey purple it becomes. In the evening, dark areas look rather stupid.
    My thoughts on next steps....
-For imx335 sensor... Hopefully fix blue tinge in dark areas (not really seen in this video) but bad in the evening. See any of Mario's recent videos using imx335
-Possibly fix latency spikes on this board that make it not nice to fly (even though recorded video is smooth, it's not smooth to fly)
-Hopefully someone who knows what they are doing will make a simple, reliable split cam that plugs into external (already reliable) rtl8812Eu card.
    -Keep improving Openipc/Ruby software
    -Keep improving Ground Station software

I think this is the best setting you used so far, great balance between quality, penetration and latency.

The purple is likely because the sensor has no IR cut filter

gottta say i was pretty skeptical about this project but this video grabbed some of my attention, can you share a bit about you setup(what wifi chip are you using) and your experience with setting everything up?

With the current latency and stutter would you prefer this or analog?

Tough question. This system still has a tonne of problems and takes a lot of time and to set up. The image quality can be very nice though. Many times greater quality than analog. If you just want to fly cheap, go analog. This is in development
