Thank you perfect video I received my iPad mini 7 today and I love it . I upgraded from the 5th generation and it’s a big difference the iPad itself seems smaller than the 5 but has a bigger screen I like the square design. I purchased the WiFi 128 gb in purple. My first purple device I have not used it enough for jelly scrolling yet but from what I seen in other videos I don’t use my iPad that way. I was so mad at another RUclipsr who said he’s taking his back because of it. He purchased the 512gb model with cellular he said it cost almost a $1,000 dollars but on the table he had a 11 inch iPad Pro I said dude you only bought it just to do the video nobody spends that money on the mini we get it for the price . But thank you for the honest review it’s getting really hard to watch the RUclipsrs that went from showing unboxing and how to video to now constant complaining videos . I’m looking forward to watching RUclips content on how to use the new features of apple intelligence
I bought one as an upgrade from a mini 4. I don’t understand the hatred for the tablet with some You tubers out there. Not everyone wants an M4 chip in a huge screen that will not fit in a pocket. Doctors and small plane pilots are two examples that spring to mind. This fits the gap between my iPhone 13 and my Mac. Plus, I get the chip for Apple Intelligence without having to pay more money to upgrade my phone.
Not M4 but at least maybe m2 like air since the price gap not that far, I was an iPad mini user bought 11 m4 , Love it so far, I just wish they have smaller version than
I agree! Many of the negatives other RUclips channels mention are outweighed by the mini 7s pluses for me. As I watch and type this on my lovely iPad mini. For me it is a great all around productivity and entertainment device
The iPad Mini is the perfect size for me. I had 1st generation, 3rd, 5th, and 6th models. I only upgraded to maximize trade in value ($230) and to future proof for long term use. I got the base storage model with cellular in blue with the coordinating blue smart folio.
Fully agree with you. The mini is not built or meant for the tech enthusiast or folks who want the functions on the pro devices (eg 120hz, oled, Face ID). At us$499, it’s meant for the casual and average users.
LumaFusion works perfectly on the Mini6, in my experience. As does Affinity Designer and Photo, Procreate, Procreate Dreams etc…. I don’t know why you couldn’t edit video on it.
Totally agree with this post. I cannot bring a full laptop to work(I work in a hospital) and go to school. This tablet is used to read my textbooks, write notes, and type my papers(via Bluetooth foldable keyboard). This tablet fits with me, and I am extremely happy with this product.
I'm so excited. I get my iPad Mini 7 later today. My main reason is the size and AI writing tools, as I will only use it for designing, writing, and reading, which are all for work. It will be interesting to see how the proofreading handles large volumes of text on Pages vs. Grammarly.
I'm in same situation. I am missing the apple intelligence features. Although i'm not sure yet.If they are very good in reality other than that, I think ipad mini six is very similar to ipad mini seven
Very nice review. I have the IPad Mini 6 and use it only for media consumption, checking email, and notes. Probably not worth upgrading to the 7 just for those tasks. But, if I get a good trade in, do you think it’s worth to upgrade? Future proofing?
Thank you! Yes I do think if you can get a good trade in, then get the mini 7. The faster performance, Apple Intelligence support and future proofing is great stuff to have
I was playing Arena breakout with the 7 a heavy game and have played it on the mini 6 over a year now and the mini 7 has so many lags and glitches I definitely don’t recommend getting the mini7 go for the 6mini plus I’m returning mine.
60Hz lagginess is not that apparent on tablet screen < 11” so no big deal for me, at least. But if you’re on iPad Air M2 11”, then you will see significant lagginess. Hence i am comfortable with my 60hz iPhone 15 and appreciate the 120hz smoothness on my iPad Pro M1 12.9 5G
I’m really looking to getting an iPad. I’ve never owned one. I’m really interested in the iPad mini 7 I already have an iPhone 15 Pro Max and a 14 inch MacBook Pro. Do you think it is worth it to get the mini seven is it actually that much bigger than the 15 Pro Max?
Finally not a Review about how worst the new iPad mini is!! I've never got an iPad Mini, only an iPad Air for college but I really want one because of the size. Thanks for your Review! I think I will order one now.
I had the ipad mini 6 and really loved it. I got impatient waiting upgrade, so I traded it in for an ipad air m2. It was a big mistake for me. The air m2 is a fantastic tablet, so its nothing against that. I just really like the smaller size, so I am going to trade my m2 air for the mini 7th gen.
I upgraded from the Mini 6 to the 7, but only because Best Buy gave a great trade in to the 128gb. Screen is the same, jelly scrolling still there (at least to my eyes) and battery life is better, but that isn’t saying much. Performance is about the same for my usage. One thing I noticed is the WiFi range is much less than my Samsung Z Flip 6. It seems to run less hot than the Mini 5. Only upgrade if you get a good trade in.
If you have an older device the trade-in prices are good at best buy. If you don't I wouldn't get the mini. Plenty of deals around from $200 ipad 9's to $500 air's. That $200 iPad is just fine for movies.
The battery run time seems to be exactly the same, but no one seems to have pointed out that you can set the battery charge limit to 80%. I love this feature because I’m a dusk til dawn user and need to charge it several times daily. I used to keep my charger on a timer so as not to keep topping the battery level to 100% so now I can just plug it in and it will cut the charge off at 80%. I wonder why it took Apple so long to include this simple feature?
I am finding it very useful with notifications summarizations, document proofreading, email editing, messaging enhancements, etc. I can't wait till the other AI features are released like Image Wand, Image Playground, Siri with ChatGPT integration, and more!
I currently have the iPad mini 1 and I gonna upgrade to the iPad mini 7 because it is the cheapest device compatible with intelligence so far and I wanted a new iPad anyway to take notes, my younger brother always ruin my copies 😒
Honestly, the only reason why I'm in the market for the mini 7 as a mini 6 owner is because I made the mistake of buying the base storage capacity a few years ago. 64GB was a mistake and Apple bumping the minimum storage to 128GB is the bare minimum for 2024 standards. I couldn't care less about Apple Intelligence since it's far from complete and its still at its infancy and I get it on my iPhone and Mac anyway. Apple Intelligence shouldn't be the main reason someone would want to get the mini 7 because we shouldn't be buying hardware at the promise of future software updates anyway.
For an expensive iPad, jelly scroll should always be a big issue. If other products like Samsung have this jelly screen, you will definitely say that it's not worth it.
Oh, btw, I did make a snarky comment, but I have no idea on what videos since I’ve watched countless review videos for the new mini. But my comment was… yes I am going to scroll fast and create a slow motion action as I use my iPad. So I guess what I’m saying is if there is a jelly scroll, the natural eye is not going to catch it. I hate that stupid phrase that I keep hearing, once you see it you can’t unsee it.
@ yes you are correct but that iPad I may be wrong is not going to get very many updates in the future and if it does it’s not going to run any of the cool new stuff on it what ever apple comes up with.
The normal person on the street are picking up on 60 Hz because the cheap phones from Huawei and Samsung already have 90 to 120 Hz for the last two years so this stupid comparison people make that the normal person won’t know the difference between 60 Hz and 120 they do pick up on it because I’ve been around some people who thinks that iPhone 15 is slower than this $80 away phone just because the way the screen behaves. The excuse of 60 Hz in 2024 is not cutting it anymore. The normal person notice
Apple sucks. Their consumers lost their buying power. Stop making excuses for obvious BS. Apple is greedy and arrogant. I dont want to patronize a company that plays on the intelligence of their obtuse customer base. Similar happenings are occuring industry wide with comps like Samsung and Google. There's no reason this mini shouldn't have 120Hz; OLED(pref); resolve the "Jelly Scrolling". I love the size, Touch ID. But that is it lol.
Samsung got them waaaaay beat. S10 tabs are almost BEZELESS. These thick azz bars on the side of this item😂😂😂😂. Apple has to do better & yall must demand better. Samsung tablets are far superior & look waaaay better
I'm an Android guy for life and will never (99%) go iphone. But when it comes to tablets, I've only owned ipads and the Tabs for some reason don't appeal to me. I actually love my Air and contemplating on this mini, even though i may not need it but the size and dependability (even when memory is close to full) is appealing.

I came from a fading iPad mini 5 ($180 trade-in still), so trading up was a fabulous decision. I absolutely love it.
Same here, $215 trade in from Best Buy. The battery on my 5 was weakening fast.
@@Chatsworth1979 Same here $190 at Best Buy with the Mini 5 and I also felt my battery was weaker. Very good upgrade from the 5.
I paid $660.60 with courier 256GB model
Exactly. The iPad Mini is mainly for media consumption. I rarely use mine for work since my company forces us to use Windows for work.

And finally made an iPad mini with blue color it is literally the prettiest tablet that came out so far in my opinion
But then most people put it in a case so it doesn’t really matter what colour it is🤷🏼♀️
@@jinglejoysTrue, but there is a blue folio case to match with it.

Awesome! Thanks for responding/
I am only upgrading from Mini 6 because of (1) Storage 64gb is too small and (2) I need Cellular and (3) my gf wants my Mini 6.
future proofing is delulu. don't engage in overconsumption.
I don't comment much but I'm subscribed and really enjoy your videos. Much love
That means so much! Thanks for subbing!
Sold my 64g mini 6 on FB for $310 and did the upgrade to the 7 with 256g !!!🎉🎉🎉🎉
if i dont have an iPad mini, would you recommend i get this mini 7 or find a deal for a new/used mini 6 instead?
Get this iPad mini 7 instead. The faster processor and Apple intelligence support and software updates will be well worth it
I was playing Arena breakout with the 7 a heavy game and have played it on the mini 6 over a year now and the mini 7 has so many lags and glitches I definitely don’t recommend getting the mini7 go for the 6mini plus I’m returning mine.
Had the prev gen mini. This one's just uninspiring, might as well buy a fold 6. Hoping to do so by the end of November 🤞

I picked up an air m2 as well and traded it for the mini 7 - I love the mini form factor so much
wonder what size that you got?
Love the review! I have the mini7 and love it. I’m using Final Cut on it to edit - do you think Lumafusion is better for editing on iPad ?
Thank you! Personally both are great but I prefer LumaFusion. Plus not a fan of how Final Cut is subscription-based
I tested an ipad air 11" m2 and the new mini in best buy last night. TBH I felt the 60hz screen a lot more on the Air because of the larger screen

iPad 10 or the new mini? All I do is watch movies on it but looking to upgrade?
The mini because it is faster, supports Apple intelligence and is super portable

Can this be connected via hdmi and work as a 2nd screen or can be casted/projected to a smart tv?
Yes absolutely
That uneven eyes is so hilarious 😂😂
I use the mini for work. As a home inspector it’s a irreplaceable tool.
How useful do you find? The apple intelligence features, especially email editing

I’m taking mine back. Too small font and that screen is disappointing after using any pro device.

lighter, flatter and oled😢 didnt happen
