The point was that for $100 more you get an iPad Air with a much more powerful M2 chip, which offers a ton more power and can do jusut about anything. By your logic, the only reason to buy this is because it's small.
@@thejasontlewisit really depends on what you need. If it's your only device, then yes it needs more. But I already have a top of the line MacBook that does it all. The mini is for fun!

a tiny lcd screen for $500 seems like a bad deal to me. The screen is much lower quality than any OLED screen attached to the phone u already have. So getting a worse (but slightly bigger) screen than your phone eith all of the same gunctions just doesnt seem to be a good deal at all. Im sure its highly profitable for apple to keep selling lcd screens when most people wont accept them on phones anymore. I kove apple its just an observation.
Wrong question asked. I totally believe it's worth $500. But, I don't believe I'll ever get $500 of entertainment and productivity out of it. The screen may be perfection and yet I'll still cast the movie or video to my larger TV. Productivity and so I'm grabbing the cellphone or sitting down being productive with my M1 Mac instead. None of this is Apple's fault. My love of tablets faded as grabbing the phone is so darn easy.
Great video. It'll be interesting to see how apple guardrails "Apple Intelligence" given their research into how bad LLMs are at any form of logic and reasoning, and thus their complete inability to know when it's hallucinating.
I have an issue with all the writing crutches. Maybe I'm old fashioned, but I think people should learn how to write and communicate well and that will 10x to their personand professional growth.
Not everyone wants a big iPad. This is the perfect iPad it’s like the size of a small notebook. I would take this and an Apple Watch and leave the phone at home

It reminds me of the 12” MacBook. You’re paying more for the form factor I guess and I just got the iPad mini 7 my first mini and I have a 12.9” pro and I love my new iPad for the basic stuff I plan to use it for RUclips and maybe PUBG mobile… I wasn’t a gamer either but u should try PUBG it’s super fun once you play a few rounds
I wish it was only like 300. Also, I think I've mentioned this but I am pretty sure we live in the same area.
Here to request a video about your thoughts on general AI and the current state of this buzzword. Nice and (painfully) honest review! :)
I don’t have either but I think if they would ensure the screen scroll thing then I would be more inclined to bite.
Holy guacamole i have never felt more called out during an intro
So he regrets the pixel fold purchase?
Too many cry babies in here wanting this to be a full on editing tool….🥴🥴🥴🥴
Get a grip. It’s perfect for what MOST PEOPLE NEED IT FOR….
Save your pennies or ask mom for a raise in your allowance so you can get a iPad Pro if you desperately need it….
The mini is for fun!
the chip def isn't overkill... imo, the ipad mini can always use the CPU upgrades... ik ppl like this don't game.. but ipad minis are very very popular for gaming. more power in cpu/gpu perf is always good/welcome... but ya... for ppl who use their ipad for youtube and email.. ya it's overkill [you can do that with a $60 amazon fire tablet]... but that isn't everyone.
oh and i'm not talking about tetris as "gaming" lol
would have absolutely loved to see an M3-M4 chip in the mini
That was actually a painfully honest review. 😂
Thanks. I try.
a tiny lcd screen for $500 seems like a bad deal to me.
The background score is awful n painful, even though it was at a low volume -
Don’t need it
Thanks for your input
Not sure why people comment on a product they know isn’t meant for them lol.
Your stomach line made me laughed
I’ve got iPad Pro, iPad and iPad mini. Use the mini more than anything else
Instead of getting an iPad Mini 7, just get the iPad Air M2 11”. M2 processor >>A17 processor.
Apple does deliver off there website. You can buy things without going to an Apple Store 😂
Are you trading this in for your iPad 13inch back? 🤣
We need an iPad Air Mini; same specs in smaller form factor.
lol at that intro ... I agree😂
Thanks.
I wish it had 120 hz
New colors and landscape camera and thinner bezels
Yep.
Better better life and brighter/better screen is all
I like it - sent from my iPad
Imagine complaining about touch id. Maybe you'd prefer to enter a password instead :P
Compared to faceID? Yeah, it's more of a pain.
Love your videos Jason! I still remember you, I sold you the iMac Pro from the Apple Store.
The purple iPad Mini 7 is (or was) $400 in Amazon, FYI. 😀
Ha! I love that computer. I should have kept it for longer than I did. It sure took some doing to scrape together enough gift cards. Good to see ya!
Yeah, one of the very few drawbacks to IA. Road tripping to Des Moines for tech 🤪
Man, it kills me. I lived in NYC for a long time and could get anything I wanted anything. But I was usually broke. The irony.
I paid 1k for mines. Got the cellular version.
Is it worth it to buy the cellular for you?
@ I just purchased it so can’t tell you until I actually hook up the iPad to a cellular line. I’ll always have that option.
I love it.
Genius.
hell u can get mac mini4 for 599...Ipad mini is worth 250-300🤦🏻♀️
This reads like a painfully honest review of you, not the Mini 7..
Whatever gets the job done.
Hah, I have the same mug but it just says Yoda Best, no mom. So my mom can't use it.
Nice.
Bro it's just 500 I lost my life savings on Tyson last night. 😭
It’s apparently good for Pokémon go
If this guy actually sold his m4 iPad Pro… then he lost more money on that.. then he paid for to get the iPad 7..
Daamn. Your buying decisions really make no sense. You knew all that before buying this.
What can I say. I buy a lot more stuff because I hahve this channel, but still, I should know better.
@@thejasontlewis True I didn't mean to criticize you 🙏 I actually really liked the video but I am still pissed about Apple not upgrading the screen 😊
the background music was really distracting
That're pretty fun.
I hate writing on it too
I totally disagree.
For $500, I can buy a refurbished iPad PRO 11 with the M-1 chip! I’d rather buy that! 😂👍
yeah.
Not everyone wants a big iPad. This is the perfect iPad it’s like the size of a small notebook. I would take this and an Apple Watch and leave the phone at home
Hahaha 😂the best in the GAME ❤
Thank you, sir.
Mini 7 is the laziest upgrade
