Joan Crawford was in the beauty phase of her life. Stunningly attractive period of her life.As a young woman, just an average looking good looking woman. Now by this time a dime piece.
@zacthecatty35 Vincent Sherman was quite apt in calling them sisters under the skin, I suspect that if they’d both set aside their affections, they’d get along swimmingly.
i disliked the character crawford played immensely. i think they made her too evil. near the end she still contemplates & almost does kill her little boy charge for the sick love of a bad man. & she took care of this little kid who was so sweet & welcoming to her. & the 'good' dr witnessed her almost killing the kid & still he loves her & wants to marry her. well he had a serial cheating wife that he knew was cheating & stayed married to her, so i guess he likes bad women. now she had a miracle type 2nd chance at a good life, from this dr, & instead of taking it, she continued her life of crime. so she gets no sympathy. we would have liked a script where she does take that 2nd chance & gets a good job, doing the right thing & making girlfriends & dating nice men (like the life she professed to wanting & not being able to have because of her burned face) but the bad people in her past wont leave her alone & she keeps trying to get away from them & keep her past life a secret from the new guy who loves her...something like that would be much more pleasing to our sense of good & evil & justice. just sayin'.
This should've been her first Oscar nomination and win!
There's something so visually stunning about Joan in this film, I can't put my finger on it, but I can't look away.

My favourite actress legend Joan Crawford
Absolutely!
Joan could portray such depth of emotion
Yep, she was so beautiful
My favorite Joan Crawford film
And I'll be that slapping sequence was REAL as only Joan would have it!!! And she warned her not to pull anything like that again!!
Wow. She slapped TF out of that chick. What an uncomfortable scene. I love it.
Osa’s face was so swollen, must have stung like hell!!
I love it too.
this is what absorbing drama is all about, interesting and worth watching. yesterday's thriller was nice too.
A friend of mine who was a great judge of beauty, described you to me
Osa Massen makes me think of a Swedish Wilma Flintstone with that hair
Rather than a taster, why not show us the whole film?
Does anyone have a link to the background instrumental?
Do you have all the movies? thanks very much

When she was 5, Anna Holm had half of her face burned and scarred in a house fire, as a result she grew up into a mean, bitter and cold young woman
