As a hungarian, let me say, we never put bacon on Lángos. It's usually topped with garlic, sour cream and cheese. Nothing else. :D
as a hungarian, let me say, we do put bacon on Langos :D
@@andrasjuhasz8262 Not really! :D
Lássuk be, az eredeti a fokhagymás lángos. Aztán jött a fokhagymás-tejfölös. Majd utána a sajtos-tejfölös. Minden más már "posztkommunista baromság" :D

This is the best foodie review of Budapest I've seen so far.
You haven't tried many sweets tho, and there is a larger choice of original spirits as well. You kinda went to the right places too which I appreciate and had the balls to say what you had to say, calling out the beer quality and the dirth, which can be real things. You kinda left out the Buda side of the city, but obviously you can't have time for everything. What would've been really extra to go to a local market, and eat some sausages and cabbage there. But, seriously, going to Vittula and Lámpás and Kisüzem were solid moves. I think in For Sale Pub you might have been taken advantage of: I am not sure the food on the menu costs 80 Pounds for two. Great review. Oh, and the Lángos is not pizza dough, more like an greasy donut dough. So yeah, proper video, you definitely at well during these days. Haha.
Wow, this lad can sing. Not too many people can sing Freddie, especially after having a few pálinka, well-done mate. Go Szoboszlai, YNWA!
Love these videos. No pretentiousness and just a solid list of places to visit. Please make more
Also please come and do a Glasgow video!
It’s on the list!
Where you guys from ?

The pasta that I liked so much is nokedli, which is very easy to make at home! Ingredients
400 g fine flour
1 egg
1 tsp salt
3 dl of water
Preparation
Mix the ingredients into a medium soft mass (in a bowl, with a wooden spoon). You don't need to work the dough too much.
Cook the dumplings in plenty of boiling, salted water (3 teaspoons of salt and 1-2 tablespoons of oil for 4-5 l of water): simply put the dough on a board and use a sharp, wet knife to cut the balls into the water.
As soon as they rise to the surface of the water, remove them with a strainer and place the finished dumplings in a bowl.
the informal name is "nokedli" but the formal name is "galuska". So if you are in a restaurant and want to eat "nokedli" then look for dish with "galuska" instead
@@yogerrry right, but ... Nokedli and galuska are identical in terms of ingredients, the difference between them is their size. Due to its larger size, the dumpling is cut into water with a knife, the nokedli is smaller, for this we use the nokedli cutter.
@@yogerrry no one calls it galuska where I'm from, galuska are types of dumplings that go into soups i.e grízgaluska, májgaluska etc.
FYI: The parliament is big, yes, but it was built when Hungary was three times as large as it is today. For that size country (before 1920) it was not "too big".
Hey! Hungarian here. Next time, if you want to have brunch any time of the day (or just good food in general) head to Grumpy Food Bar Coffee. The chef lady (who's also the owner of the place) is the kindest woman ever, and she cooks the most delicious food (there's also a lot of vegan options). Alos, if you like escape rooms, I highly recommend Neverland Bar & Escape Room. All of their room come in an eglish version, and they are a lot of fun to do! Each room has it own unique coctail (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic version) that you can order after escaping the room. I hope you had a great time overall in Hungary! c: One last thing. When eating chimney cake, the locals opt for tearing it apart to strips and eating it like that. ^^
also, the traditional chimney cake should not be stuffed with anything. it's quite plain but tasty sweet pastry coated with sugar and maybe sometimes with walnut :)
I'm a simple man. I see someone coming to my country and enjoying their time to the fullest I feel immediate friendship with them. :D
👊🏼
The baths get their water from a thermal spring, which is constantly changed, so you don't get stuck in the mess of others, because it's always fresh. Be sure to try it next time you come, big flash.
Thank you for visiting my wonderful city! ❤ 😘
We just left kisuzem food and atmosphere was ace
Budapest is a beautiful city with a rich history, stunning architecture, and a vibrant cultural scene. I'm sure you'll have an amazing time exploring all it has to offer. Since you've done your research and have a list of popular and hidden gem restaurants, you're off to a great start.
While you're in Budapest, make sure to explore the iconic landmarks like Buda Castle, Fisherman's Bastion, and the Chain Bridge. Take a stroll along the Danube River, visit the historic thermal baths, and immerse yourself in the city's unique atmosphere.
As for the dining experiences, Hungarian cuisine is known for its rich flavors and unique dishes. Don't miss trying traditional dishes like goulash, chimney cake (kürtőskalács), lángos, and stuffed peppers. Be sure to also explore the local wines and spirits, such as Tokaji wine and pálinka.
Did you actually watch the video?
Nice. I wish I watched this before I went to Budapest, but my wife and I are in the video at 5:10 on the right side (striped hat and backpack). haha. You're right about the beers being off in there. If you love beer, Elesztohaz was the place to go. They had 20 or so craft beers on tap.
dude you have a superb singin ! ( pianist hun guy was such a nice guy lol )
Love watching these. Just a manc lad travelling the world having a scran and good beer. Good vibes all around, love it mate
Straight in no messing, proper review! Love it.
This was so much fun to watch! Again, it proves, local food is best to try on a vacation.
Probably top 3 European city to go to. Super cheap flights, super cheap city, aesthetic and clean and has some great places to visit. Beer spa is always a winner.
Near Getto Gulyas and the ruin bar there is a craft beer bar called Hops Beer Bar Budapest! A must visit place❤
Budapest was a vibe good food good places to visit and nice people. Kronenburg blanc I wish was over here 🥲
Great video guys
It was fascinating to watch your experience with my hometown. I'm glad that you two had a blast here.
As Lángos is a fast food item, it is mostly eaten by hand. And after that we look like we dug out a few oil wells with our bare hands. It is quite understandable though that you chose civilised utensils. That was the sensible thing.
Also I found it sad that most of the places you visited were off limits for people in a wheelchair. Every place has at least a single step just to fuck with those "creeps".
Great Video! But I didn't get the name of the bar you guys played darts at! I'm going to Budapest in a couple of weeks and would love to find a place to play!
I only just discovered you guys a few days ago, and have binge watched your videos.
I love your content. Although I adore seeing the sites and history of a place, the best thing about a new city is the food and drink.
Keep them coming. You two are brilliant. ❤
Outstanding that sir, great job
Great video! Family is from Madrid, Extremadura, and Andalucia
Haha, when you tried the pálinka, someone in the background said: "I don't care, I don't have a penny!"
Such an amazing video, it brought nostalgy for me, thank you🌞🌞 "vendégek vannak. Külföldiek" és "egy forintom nincsen" ezeket önkéntelenül megmosolyogtam :))
Magyar néplélek esszenciái 😂

Budapest going straight on the must visit list for 2024, lungs on you lad absolutely nailed the classic queen song at the gypsy bar. You guys are mint.
Nice is a lovely spot for a bit of winter sun you'll love it, there's plenty of top notch food and drinks to indulge in. 🍻
I think fresh sourbread dipped into goulash is some of the best bites of food you can ever have! :)
Great review guys, thanks for covering my favourite city in the world! Szimpla kert is definitely better at night, and there are a few other cool ruin bars around that area. And yes, you definitely need ice cream in the chimney cake 😂
Also a shame you didn't get to the baths- definitely the best hangover cure to sit in the main outside heated pool!
Thank you for visiting my home town! Budapest
You guys rock!! I’ll probably never get aboard so it’s lush to see all these lovely places food and drinks! Keep on keeping on!
Just found you guys today and been watching your videos for hours 😂 it's really what I needed in my Sunday 😊
Am working my way through all your videos, mainly in awe at how much food you're both putting away. Mindblowing and I wish I could manage it. A big breakfast for me and I'm done for a few hours at least...
24:13 - that is called pörkölt with nokedli. (Stew with dumplings) :)
Brilliant lads , no flaf only facts . Looks a handy destination, atb Tony 🇮🇪🇮🇪
Everything looks awesome.. great pointers👍
Another good one looking forward to the next one.thank you to you both great content 👍👍👍
Great video, it is so natural, just like a normal day, not overreacting everything.
Thanks so much!
just love your takes on different cities...wonderful
Great quality footage. I really enjoy your videos.
Another great video. Looks like lots of good food and cool spots. I never had Budapest on my list of places to go but now after watching you guys I’ll look into it. Thank you for your honest opinions😊👍🏾
Szimpla Kert on a Friday or Saturday evening is absolutely MEGA! You should've gone on one of those days.
As a Hungarian who have been in England several times, thank you. Nice video. Two complaints...that's not how you eat lángos and chimney cake(kürtöskalács) :)
Keep em coming! Your guys videos are some of the best on RUclips!
loooooooool gotta love the intro!! OR UTTER SHITE!!! Fuckin Perfect well done we are heading to budapest in july this year and we are very much looking forward to it!!!
Isten hozott nálunk! :)
hey guys, I am going to Budapest in August (6 days) and you have just answered quite a few questions for us, cheers. Lovin your stuff - just found you today on You-tube. Also, watched your Amsterdam food guide too, as we are there for four days too (from Australia). keep up the great work. :)
Love your videos!! More please
I just want to say thank U very much! 🤗 My home 🥲🤍you are my guests for a real stuffed cabbage dinner!😊
All this positive exposure about my city, and I'm here simping on how you nailed Bohemian rhapsody like a fucking champion.
Can I ask a question about Budapest as I’m visiting soon?
Make more of these. Love the longer vids 🐐
Thanks mate! Got plans to do that this year
@@0nlyscrans nice one replying mate! Keep up the great work
Thank You for this video! Im living here 25 years.
Bors gasztrobar is amazing. Good "fast food", great prices. I love Getto gulyas as well. Love this style of what-you-see-is-what-you-get vids, her reactions are the best :))
I am hungarian and laughed a lot on your video 😂 hope to see you next time :)
solid 👊
luv the videos, you two rock it.
We loved your videos! Soooooo funny and informative!
Great video guys , just genuine people doing honest reviews 👌
Glad you had a good time, hope you'll be back.
Great vocals!
Well done folks, look forward to this wee series continuing 🍔🍻
I also don’t know if you have been, but Berlin is probably a place you’d both love. Amazing city. Great vibe!
Been a few times. It’s on the list for the videos tho!
When you drink palinka, don't seep it knock at down at once ! You'll feel better :)
Always look forward to these videos! Started with the Amsterdam vlog a while back, subscribed and I’ve watched all the videos since including the Amsterdam one again hahaha simple high quality videos showing you what you wanna see. Love it man keep it up👏🏼😎
Really appreciate that thank you!
Love Only Scrans. Great video again. You also look like William Prunier!
Just a small correction: Piana Vyshnia is not hungarian drink originally. It comes from Ukraine. Piana Vyshnia or „Drunk cherry“, which has been produced in every house in Lviv city for centuries.
Hajrá Budapest!
Fave channel on RUclips - vids are so well put together and love the intel on the best food around - look forward to whats to come in 2024 🙂
Budapest is always a great time. But, it really is my favorite European city during the summer!
24:55 that was the traditional `home` style (mom does ) dumpling for Pörkölt / Gulyás
My lovely city! I miss it so much, i live abroad nowadays. Btw both of you are so cute and funny, i loved the way how you enjoyed the hungarian dishes😊
Another great video folks
From one fellow baldie to another , top content 💯🤘🏻
Great footage! I've lived here in Budapest for 5 years and i was shocked at the prices of everywhere you went! You hit all the tourist taps 😂 I spend a third of what you did when i go out to eat. By the way, there is darts in the Blackpool bar but they're electronic 🙁
Quality as always, budapest 2024 is happening
dude i love friki papa and sopronee
I absolutely love these no nonsense videos, I've never tried bone marrow but I really want to now! Also, was the rum cocktail in the tin mug called a "painkiller"? If it is, I've had one from the original bar in BVI. They used to give them to all the navy lads and you could keep the cups. We would attach them round ourselves on some rope and everyone would know we were heading back to the ship because the cups were clanging together 😂
It was a Painkiller! Love that
Alcoholic drinks have many funny names.
For example, drinks with an alcohol content of less than 40% are usually referred to as horse spittle. If they are sweetened, this is their name.
However, those above about 50% are already known as horse kicks.
If you imagine the effect of a horse spittle and a horse kick, you will understand.
best budapest travel video like ever
Cool stuff that (t)his review had no politics, just about good times!
Love your vlogs. I was in Budapest back in 2005, fun place but felt like a lot of the places were just trying to take advantage of us, charging us way more than the locals.
Looking forward to giving this a watch! I highly recommend Bruges if you haven't visited before, some of the best food and beer I've ever had.
The first restaurant you visited is our favourite. You need to try gozgomboc next time.
Easy the best food travel vlog channel on RUclips
You guys are so easy to watch….also consume food like it’s oxygen !!! Where the fook do you put it all ??? Love it, don’t stop 👌🏻
Man can sing!!!!
Great blog 😊
FYI : Theres a hungarian shop in Warrington WA27UB …and yes they have some sweet paprika powder waiting for ya. ;)
Went to Beerstro14 last night. Had the same platter, absolutely sensational stuff.
The Cherry Lager with it was also unreal 👌🍒
Surprised you enjoyed Bamba, went there thinking it was a one off special burger joint in Budapest and then realised they were an average chain scattered across Budapest.
Love from Budapest hehe ❤️☺️
maaan u have some pipes well done
Not sure if it was mentioned, but piana vyshnia is Ukrainian, not Hungarian, but definitely very tasty 🙂 Glad you enjoyed my favourite city!
Holy shit....You can really sing well!
Envy you, I forgot to go to Bors last year in Budapest. Also happy I missed that Jewish restaurant; I agree with your thought that you can have better food at every street corner, like Turkish places. It looked like a cool place, but the food needed to be better. Sorry about Guinness. The best pints of Guinness just in Ireland and England but also here in Japan some pubs have better Guinness than Hungary, stick with other foreign bottled beer, or have a pint of Dreher or some craft beer in Hungary. But you had everywhere Soproni, how was it? Best Lángos are also classic and are plain with garlic/water or cheese/sour cream, next time I'll try that with bacon/Spanish onion.
Try the "stuffed cabbage" next time. (Töltött káposzta)
Top stuff 👍
Jó étvágyat hozzá:)
The Ruin bars in Budapest are WAAAY over-rated!
I've been living here for 7 years and you visited more places than me 😂😂
Guy's u missed to go in a sweet cake shop's. I recon next time to visit one. Yummy 🎂
