I view the reprint as a buying opportunity. One Piece is very popular. When people panic, it's time to buy as long as the TCG player and collector base is growing. I'm not worrying at all. I feel the booster boxes were way overpriced. Some people just looking for a quick buck seriously. I'm in for long term
If you got early boxes near msrp or distribution prices, then you can probably 3x your money but to get to the thousand, it will need One Piece TCG to last 10-20 years
My collection from OP07 now includes two treasure rare Laws, Alt Art Ace and Sabo, SP Okiku and O-Nami, the beautiful Alt Art Law, as well as some other Alts. Love these videos, helps keep me informed!❤
Completely glad about reprints. Sure it’ll kill the resell but it’s a damn card GAME! It’s meant to be played but that can’t happen if prices are so high new players can’t even get into it. The only ones it hurts are scalpers and people that paid higher prices for certain cards before a massive price drop.
I ordered two of the "blue bottoms" when they were around 250 as they hit rock bottom price. I got them today, but TCGplayer/seller sent me wave -2 white bottoms/reprints instead. And now blue bottoms are going for higher, so they did me wrong. I just started using TCG....what luck.
If it's specifically mentioned blue bottom (there are btw also 2 different waves of blue bottom), I would send them the boxes back if you really want a blue bottom version
@@geckrem970 Yes, it clearly stated "wave - 1 , blue bottom" on my receipt and when i ordered them. I messaged the seller but all they will do is send me a return label...but I dont think thats right that my time and money was wasted. I messaged TCGPLAYER to see how they can help me...they havent responded
Dang that sucks! From what I know they are not re-printing blue bottoms anymore because they include pre-errata cards hence the markup in price! Unfortunately unless they held these boxes since release, every reprint will be white bottom!
@@eco8gator LOL. Bait and switch by TCGPlayer twice!!! Its cool just went to a well tested and prove platform ...Ebay.... and bought one at 775. Never again will I spend money at TCGplayer....f them
Specifically for your blue bottom take, this is false. The blue bottom listing is the ORIGINAL listing on tcg player. To include the white bottoms. The white bottom is the new listing specifically for the white bottoms. All those purchases are for white bottoms on the blue bottom post. I called several of the sellers that had store fronts and verified. So a bunch of people bought white bottoms thinking they were blue bottoms for $300 plus. eBay blue bottoms are still selling for 1k
This is great for the singles market! Things are affordable, and honestly a great buying opportunity. One piece fans are used to not being able to get their hands on new one piece sets on release lol so reprints were much needed
The only reason op02 is so cheap is because sakazuki has gotten on the banned list. All the cards in 02 pretty much were staples for his deck. Even at local card shops by me the 02 boxes arent selling.
Interesting thought! I think that we’re on a period of a lot of op-02 reprint happening and will slowly creep up once they get bought out and they move to the next set bring reprinted!
This may be a good thing, hoping to get some more product but it is seriously expensive, I play the TCG casually and absolutely love ONE PIECE! Thanks for your video!
lol blue bottom prices haven't changed in months. blue bottoms have been stagnant at 1k for months now. tcgplayer is incorrect re blue bottom prices because tcg player's "wave 2 - white bottom" is for the reprint (hence why TCG only started tracking sales since June 2024). tcg player's "wave 1 - blue" consited of white BOTH bottom and blue bottom sales (which is why the price is inflated compared to wave 2). Tcg player should really sort it out
I have seen near-unanimous positive reactions to prices "crashing." It's a net positive for the actual game and players; the only ones complaining are hoarding product trying to make money (which is fine, but expecting to invest in children's cardboard is pretty foolish) At any rate, they'll stop printing definitively at some point and, if the game remains healthy and popular, second-hand prices will climb back up
Yeh it’s not crashing but it’s not going to the moon! More products is never a bad thing and it’s still very difficult for people to grab sealed products at msrp prices at big box stores!
@Koji-TCG Yeah, that's the biggest takeaway. Overreactions all around for the most part, but I'm glad there's at least a little product going around for lucky people to grab at MSRP to slightly-above
Tell this to ppl like my uncle who invested a few thousand in sealed pokemon boxes from the 90's. He also opened a few thousand worth and pulled multiple Charizards and other highly valued cards. He then got them graded and got more than a dozen Charizard psa 10's and beckett black gem 10's. 5 years ago or so, he sold only half of the stuff from the 90's, retired, and is a millionaire now.... Ppl will gamble and invest in products they think will skyrocket in value.
@Grimwulf88 your uncle is the exception, not the rule. Very few card games hold any real value; obviously the three big ones everyone is aware of go without saying Buying up a few cases of Digimon or Final Fantasy CCGs is not the same as '90s pokemon cards. I will be absolutely shocked if, in a decade, One Piece cards have any tremendous increase in value, yet I also have a ton of sealed product and near-complete single sets, because I like the IP, not to make money.

We will see. I hope it doesn’t hurts the game long term. Should have released new art reprints or added different numbers to the cards. Still always have my black label signed luffy worth more than xfuture_xx2998’s bank account lmao
Bandi literally gave the card piece bros a chance. And now here we are. Collectors are more reserved and card pieces bros demonstrate for the millionth time its all talk and no money. Thank goodness OP has a fantastic collectors market. It will bounce back

Well some boxes will definitely hold their value in the long run. At least that’s my opinion on the matter
I agree! Op-01 will definitely keep its value in the long run!
interesting price trend. everything would probably skyrocket again once Season 2 TV Series comes along so better stock up now!
I think that people should enjoy these reprints because it will stop and the prices will go up again!

Didn't even know there was a reprint

Also the reprint set has a Nami manga rare
