One piece is about to explode in the next 2 years. They are condensing over 1000 episodes in to less than 400. Which will smash the entrance barrier to the IP that is “it’s too long”. Not only that but one piece is finally in its final saga with updated animation. Millions of new fans are coming to the IP. I’ve been watching OP for over 15 years now. I’m just getting in to the TCG and have cracked over 10 boxes in about a month and a half. The game is fun and these cards are beautiful, I am very bullish on the op tcg
People that think this will be the next pokemon and have time horizons of 3 to 5 years need to remember 3 to 5 years after pokemon a base set booster box was like 40bucks.
It was about $110 at that point but still was slow going for a long time. Everyone thinks everything should be $1000 in 2 years and it's not realistic to do that especially in a new tcg.
i should've seen this coming, a lot of my friends are obsessed with one piece for years... its so obvious in hindsight.. that being said one piece price hype is higher than pokemon right now, interesting times. I mean consider how there is like no hype for scarlet and violet . some of my one piece friends that like pokemon dont care about scarlet and violet, could that be an opportunity in scarlet and violet, as in buy low right?? and also how much it has been over printed...? i think if i have to pick one, as in one piece vs SV i would go with one piece for now. i cant even name s&v starters ... at the same time, that tells me the opportunity is in pokemon, which is also the safer play. although i dont like SV at all.. yet!
The one thing we know if pokemon has a track record of doing this at the beginning of the Era. There will be a set with a banger chase and everyone will dive in. Pokémon will be underprinted for those sets and people will spill into all of sv. Does op have this opportunity, no they are on a straight up now and a bad set could kill the momentum.
Just an opinion. Right now, the prices are based on the tcg players. They will keep moving to modern sets. Its when the collectors come in that the prices start going up. A booster box per set is always a good investment.
I don't think the TCG will flourish, but the collect-ability of One Piece will be the main selling point of these cards. There are thousands of die hard one piece fans out there that just grew up reading/watching the anime/manga.
I'm holding 3 cases of realm of the gods. 1 main reason is because it was a 1 and done print. Bandai killed digimons market because they REprinted the first set into the ground (the digimon reboot). Bandai I think has learned their lesson imo. They didn't reprint DBS for the past 3 years especially god rare sets and years ago when they did reprint a set the boxes said 2nd edition and the cards said RE. This was because the community made a huge stink about the reprint and basically demanded the 2nd printing was different. They could do something similar with one piece.
There are a lot of things they could do and there are a lot of things Bandai has done so personal I'm leary until I see what they do. 2nd edition would be a great way to do it so it will interesting to see how these reprint role out.
I understand. These are my reasons but its personal. Preaching caution is the smart thing to do and I commend you for it. . Anyone who says your being "predatory" obviously didn't watch the entire video.
I don't trust Bandai but when it comes to realm of the gods atleast I'd say theres a 95% chance they don't reprint. Honestly, I don't think one piece reprints will be big. They have too much stuff to print like battle spirits saga, DBS masters and fusion world AND union arena. Unless we hear they are buying another printing company we can probably expect the supply issues to continue.
No they didn't because in me final break down I'm very specific on the high caution I put on investing in op. It may turn out fantastic but I always put out all the pitfalls that I can see.
Pokemon was a big risk when it came out, pokemon also was a lousy tcg for many many years hence why there is super low print expensive sets out there, one piece isn’t going anywhere anytime soon, as long as your up to date with the market it’s not really that high risk. The game is highly highly playable super fun very good growth huge IP. Waiting 5 years can also put you behind the eight ball when it comes to investing. Of course you wouldn’t mind if they reprint op01 lol
For now I consider OP a short term flip investment if you can get it for retail. Long term, say 5 years when the hype is long gone, will it be a good investment? Who knows. My thought is people paying $1200 to $1500 or more for OP-01 first edition boxes might look back and wonder why. Lorcana was supposed to be the next big thing, millions of Disney lovers so demand was high and now, another flop.
You never know on a new tcg will the demand carry for 5 years plus. You never know so both are extremely high risk but with high risk can come high reward if they make it through.
@@NorthwoodsTCGThe next sets should be 🔥 but the buying with all the shenanigans will be harder. I am a Pokemon dude at heart but OP makes a great side piece l.
It has a great IP. I couldn't get into anime years ago. It looks like a fun play (I have never played but watched the game at the lcs). I'm more concerned about the wild card Bandi. They have a great ability to take something great a burn it.
The only thing is other tcgs were not as popular as this one tho has been the channels gaining more views then pokemon channels all the discord servers on one piece is crazy
@@NorthwoodsTCG buying something with the intention to sell for more like a card = speculating, buying a farm and live of the crops each year = investing
@@NorthwoodsTCG Dividends, if a stock company, lets say Hasbro goes bust there is actually stuff to sell like buildings / machines / computers etc Cards do not pay you a 6month or yearly share of the profits
Firet not all stocks have dividend payout. Second I still have something to sell if Pokémon goes bust. All the cards, booster boxes and products are still assets. Mean my Pokémon stuff is in your definition an investment 🤔
Hell no!. It an anime fad, once the anime is done it will fade away. It being over 1000s episodes too, i am not wasting that much time in a series. Only old people watch this series. (Japan actually did a study on one piece and most of their audience was older, probably explains why they can afford such high prices)
You clearly know diddly shit about TCGs. It’s ok that you missed the boat on one piece, you don’t need to act like a baby about it, I suppose that is probably your M.O. (acting like a child) that is
Stay away from One Piece and stay away from Lorcana. You are not anything close to a financial TCG expert no such thing exists. You dont know what you are talking about preying on your unsuspecting audience.
@NorthwoodsTCG Concerned or Considered? Yeah I would be concerned that you would consider yourself a TCG expert you are not. If you are telling people you are that is a lie.
As a huge One Piece fan I applaud your macro analysis👏👏
Thank you IFomo!

The one piece OP-01 booster boxes with blue bottom (first print) are the most wanted 😊
Exactly if you have not been here and grabbed that box when it released, your to late right now 😆

Didn’t do much research for this video huh
I did alot of research for this video, just hard to recall everything because I do have much interest compared to Pokémon, Flesh & Blood, and MTG
romance dawn will be 3000 box easily just give it a few years they will not make the same mistakes as masters its why they came out with fusion world
What about starter decks? Will they be reprinted?
Great video!!! better late then never though. :)
Yep I want going to do it but I had a lot of request for it! Thanks due watching!
