When I was younger my dad would take me to a bread store like this. It was called “hostess” bc they would carry hostess products as well. But it was one of my favorite memories with my dad. Agree Ohwellwhatever :) I live in Norway. Here we normally eat brown bread and often with seeds and not so much white flour in them. Makes you not get hungry so fast. If I eat white bread it doesn't last. Funny that Mary thinks of birdseeds when she sees it in bread. I was in USA on holiday and we couldn't find brown bread anywhere (NY). The white bread also tasted kind of sweet compared to white bread in Norway. Guess there's quite a lot of "hidden" sugar in american food. But it was an amazing holiday. We have american neighbours and they love norwegian food. Bread and chocolate especially. They don't use cornsugar in the chocolate here like many of the products in america. Just normal old fashioned sugar. As usual great video 😊

Today would have been his 83rd birthday, he would have enjoyed this video and knowing there are still some of these bakeries around.

This brings back so many memories. Many years ago, we had a Wonder Bread/ Hostess Factory nearby and it had an outlet store. We could get snack cakes and fruit pies for 10 cents. I don't euyj6yven remember what the bread cost, but my mother always walked out with a loaded basket and it hardly cost $5-10.
We used to have bakery outlet in Vegas many moons ago. I miss it. . All them bread in that store have funny name. This was an awesome possum tour. It brought lots of memory when we had bakery outlet down here.
Reminds me of the Little Debbie bakery facility near Chattanooga. We visited Southern Adventist University a few years ago and the Little Debbie bakery was next to the school. Man, it smelled delicious!

I finally found cheer wine. It reminded me of a soda we had when we went fishing in Wisconsin. In the 1970s there was a soda in Wisconsin called Worms. It tasted like your Cheer Wine.

The buildings still sit unchanged. I live in Los Angeles and with the low carb craze and healthier eating they went out of fashion. I personally loved them! Loved the mark downs, too.

American bread/cakes look so synthetic and fake, it’s weird. But this store is so cute, almost like it’s preserved from the 1950s.
