Nice video. I just got the AEM V3 WMI kit. It’s all pretty similar to the snow performance kit, but I’ve decided I’m going to use the OEM windshield washer fluid tank. Just will be a cleaner install, plus the low fluid indicator will light up on my dash through the OEM light, and the washer tank holds just as much fluid as the tank that comes with the kit.
Have to say I've been looking for a good video on installing snow in a r56 well done pal thank you for making one... Your DIY group is the best group out there some good people that go out there way to help you with any problems.
Very thorough video. I'll be setting up a different meth kit on a different vehicle, but it was great to see how everything gets connected around the car. Thanks!
Great vid, installing same kit on my turbo Trans Am WS6, I wish they had just included the whole kit, with the fuse tap & solenoid, more vac line etc. Seems straight forward though! Thanks
SpeedTech Motorsports also sells a spacer that goes in between the intake manifold & motor, for a second stage spray of meth. I got that for my r56, shout out to Abraham from SpeedTech. Always great & reliable help.
Super happy to see this video from you. I have a Snow Performance 2.5 kit waiting to install after I finish up some other maintenance stuff. I just finished some cooling system stuff. Water pump, WP pully, crossover pipe, thermostat housing, and tensioner wheel this morning.
Just a word of experience, petroleum products like wd40 and rubber like hoses don't mix, petroleum will deteriorate rubber, sorry to be that guy, use a silicone lubricant on rubber hoses, and have a nice day, good vid tho
AMAZING VIDEO ! thank you, one question though, for the ground . Is it necessary to run the ground wires from the front to the back? It's just ground, tapping it to a screw in the front and doing the same thing to the pumps ground and all the other ground in the rear would be the same right? or am I missing something? thank you
Great videos. Did you notice any throttle response improvement from off the line? I'm at 6k feet and my little 1.4t now has the worst throttle response from off the line due to the altitude. I'm fully tuned with supporting mods but doesn't overcome the low air density at 6k+ feet
Thanks for making this video! It’s nice to see this since I’ll be doing this install right away. My Snow performance kit (SNO210) is a little different but allot of it is the same. Which nozzle are you using? Mine only came with 2 nozzles and I think they’re both too big. 😂 Have you started to use water/methanol yet or are you still waiting on tuning? How do you like it so far?
Make sure you put your solenoid after the pump, i made a mistake when i installed mine. Im using the #4 that is .225 i believe. Im still just using distilled water and it’s been great so far
@@ProjectMini Mine came with a #4 and a #6 nozzle. I figured I should be using a #3 nozzle so I just ordered that. My kit has the VC-50 gauge/controller which I’ll mount in the vent on the left side of the steering wheel with the Cravenspeed vent mount. Is there a difference in functionality between the controllers? They both seem to have the same two boost settings for start and full spray.
I don’t know anything about the vc-50 so i can’t help there. The #4 does a good job but I’ll most likely go to a #3 after I install the direct port methanol injection kit
@@ProjectMini Oh. You want to spray direct into the ports? How will you monitor iat’s like that? The car will also ‘think’ iat’s are higher. Will that have a negative effect on things?
I just got my stage 2 meth linstalled and they pet my controller under the hood is that normal.alsp they only put a low light indicator no green one is this normal/play? Also my controler doesn't read more then 3 5
The controller can go anywhere, i put mine in the cabin to keep it safe from the elements. I think its a little strange that they didn’t install the green light since the kit comes with it. I don’t know what you’re saying on the last part
I'm not gonna lie, this looks complicated for a DIY installation. I'm struggling to decide if my intimidation is stronger than my money need to save money lol
I ran my water line under the car....the only thing that is visible on my car is the water bottle. You can't see any of my system not even the wiring. Its completely hidden from the eye.

Best Meth kit install video on YT, this is how you do a DIY not like skip all the wiring and connecting parts...
Thank you! But i did make 1 mistake and put the solenoid on the wrong side of the pump. I’ll be making a correction video soon
Nice video.

Where did you put the pump?

That’s what im installing this weekend 💪
@@ProjectMini Hell ya man. If only i would have waited to install it, this would of for sure been lots of help to me. Keep up the good work brother. 🤙
@@ProjectMini Also careful with the plastic crank case hose, wiggled mine around to much a cracked it in two gave me a p1497. 😒
I take mine off quite often and it haven’t broke yet, but I’ll just replace it when it does
Hmmm SPEEDTECH sucks.....I said what I said and I'm not the only one in the Mini community that's says it.

It’s pretty cool to see intake temps below ambient 😎
@@ProjectMini I had one of these systems on my 03 Neon SRT-4 and it absolutely makes a difference. I kind feel all turbo cars should have them. 👍👍
100%
Hi , could you tell me what size nozzle you used please , I just took a snow performance kit of my subaru and want to install on my mini
Glad to a video on R56 👍
It looks like the cell phone holder arm has plenty of length where you could place the lights into it and it would look clean.
Except the lights would be blocked by the steering wheel

Me: are those freakin alpacas in the background
him: "btw those are alpacas and my dog"
haha great video man this is gonna help a lot when i do it!
Thank you 🙏

They sell the piping that has the pre-hole for the meth . I got mine from ecs intercooler piping
This was free 💪
@@ProjectMini even better . Good stuff 👍
I searched ECS and don’t see that pipe anywhere, did they discontinue it?
@@ProjectMini let me check real quick

hi i have a car with maf sensor and same pack of water meth from snow perfomance, what i have to do different while connecting?
I'm not gonna lie, this looks complicated for a DIY installation. I'm struggling to decide if my intimidation is stronger than my money need to save money lol
Was the adapter on the couple leaking boost without the e6000?
Everything leaks without the glue. The jet going into the boost tube will get blown out at less than 20 psi
is it really the amount of boost thats worth a $400 mist kit?
how long does a tank last and how much?
I fill my tank about twice a week
I ran my water line under the car....the only thing that is visible on my car is the water bottle. You can't see any of my system not even the wiring. Its completely hidden from the eye.
It's a pump it's doesn't need to be lower
If it’s higher than the tank it will be dry and won’t have anything to pump.
Have shop wanting to charge $800.00 for installation if that fair price ?
