I recall the early days of full suspension during the mid 90's as I gladly passed on the bikes as they were heavy , clunky and many of the pivot points looked as if they were fastened with bolts that you could find at a hardware store . But to be honest the larger 27.5 and 29 inch tires are the biggest difference with modern bikes as they easily roll over everything whether a hardtail or full suspension . If I could fit 27.5 tires on my 1992 KONA Hei Hei I'd have one hell of a bike . Even when that bike was brand new back in the day , I would've looked at it and said nope that things a hunk of junk 😉
Not really, just abit more bling, same Dmax rims, same Sun rims as per 30 years ago, same Raceface and Shimano triple cranks, same 888's, same MRD X WORKS, just custom 225's on blue spiders up front, ONLY AVAILABLE IN BLACK to the ordinary person, I grew up in BARNOLDSWICK !!!!, Oh, and the "HOPE" mini's brake levers have been changed for TECH 3's and TECH 4's as you can see, otherwise, same 9 speed sram cassette's, same 3 and 9 speed twist grip sram shifters, basically both 30 year old, highly tuned, Dyffy ready downhill rigs, see you there this summer
It might have been sketchy but have you ever had so much fun on the bike.... Haha everyone was buzzing and glad to be alive 😂 well done 👍
Cheers Aga, very happy to survive that one
Ive never seen so many traumatized riders in one spot. Chris passing on his wilson was hilarious. The sound of ride or die right there 😂
20 years in the difference between Chris's bike and mine, and tyres with grip 🙈🤣
@@PedalhoundsTV 20 years between you n him too 😁
@@1brenmaster very true 😁

I don't think it's the wheel size that plays the biggest factor. I think it's the geometry.
Don't worry, you're on a perfectly good down hill rig, forget the "retro" bit, Dan Atherton wants mine, but I know he won't admit it
Course it can, got 2 myself, do Dyffy and Bike Park Wales regular, mine are abit more with the programme though, Richard Leavers channel
When you say a bit more with the program, more modern bits you mean?
