The hot connection to the tap on the bath looked awkward to get good leverage to, but when you're there, you improvise. As for the leaking emergency, think I'd charge the same as you. Nothing wrong with flexes', depending on how they're installed. Certainly makes sense to change them both, one old, one new doesn't go right. Good solid job is one done right. 👍👍
Was once called out to a fractured flexi that had been running all day, basically from the moment they left for work ‘til they returned mid afternoon. Flooded the whole downstairs, even filled the gas cooker hob burners. Flexi could have been done in copper initially and would have prevented all the damage.
As soon as you lost that washer that's where I said it would probably be 😅, that was great having the flexible there, the brass connectors can be an arse under the bath.
I would of removed that section of plasterboard,to get easier access under that bath, instead of cutting new holes in it.That flexi burst because the cowboys that fitted the Hep pipework never fitted elbows to stop hoses kinking.🥴
3:43 unscrew the plaster board and get it out the way !!!

They’ve got there uses flexi. Prefer fixxed connections but can’t say I wasn’t happy when I saw them under the bath 😂
@SmartPipePlumbing yup I agree, always put in brass connectors when I can

They just need to position the pipes correctly to stop the strain on them.
nice to see a student landlord actually do anything. 😂
I know a lot don’t do anything till it’s too late 😂
🤘😎🤘
🙌🙌
always change a flexi or they will bite you in the ass
Don’t say that making me regret changing them now
Usually £70 to fit a tap but 2 £100 for both
Fair enough
What tool was you using to tighten bath taps ?
Twisty from techers tools
@@SmartPipePlumbing They look handy little tools, can they be bought from anywhere other than Techers.
@@SmartPipePlumbingI can't find them anywhere on the Internet. Looks very handy and I would be interested in buying a set.

That tap i would charge £110 i have a standard call out of £100 which gets you upto 1 hour plus materials.
so you earn 100 quid an hour before expenses?
Fair enough, what area are you in?
replace that awful silicone behind tap first
Wasn’t there for that, but recommend to do so
50 quid
🙌🙌
Not a happy customer when you could have cleaned the black stuff of the bath before fixing the tap !!!
