Nice video. Just bought a similar boat and it’s got big time issues with reverse. Back end by the jet looks fine but the front of my cable is all jacked up. Bent at about a 45 degree angle and had a dirt dauber nest all around it. Think I need a replacement cable. You happen to know what length though? Boat is a 19 foot 1979 Riviera from Arizona. Pump is a Berkeley 12 JG/R.
Cable length is different for every boat and application. If there is no markings on the old cable you can pull it out and measure it end to end and get a replacement of the same length.
@@Powerboat1 OK cool. Just looked at my cable and the part number on it ends in 17. So maybe a 17 foot cable. Will be fishing it out and measuring shortly just to be sure. This is my first jet boat. For further advice, any forums you recommend me joining or anything? Hate to bug you with RUclips comments...

What does the shift cable do? Shift gears?
Yes essentially. It shifts between forward and reverse.
