I got lucky....In my hometown....a concert came to town...First tour for Rush...who opened for, on their first tour KISS....the headliner Blue Oyster Cult....ticket was $5!!!
The VIBE and Groove to this song is sooooo bad ass... I have loved early Rush since I was a kid. I refused to purchase anything after Moving Pictures... :-P
Regarding a statement earlier comparing Rush to Zeppelin...Alex Lifeson is an amazing guitarist in many ways...and is superior to Jimmy Page, end of story :)
That is not a crazy statement, but that is like comparing like high performance cars! Each one has it's amazing features, both run amamzing, and in different seasons, one may have an edge over the other, then conversely the same a time later! 2 cents! Two of the best either way!
Diabetes potentially stopped the successful career of a great rock artist. Rutsey would have written loads of songs like this with bands after rush but it had to be ruined by diabeted
johnroosterrod65@gmail.com Barry Morris, I'm sorry, but I don't think Rutsey couldn't take Rush to what they would become... He was all over the 'time' in his sets. He would speed up, and down in his songs. Neil would stay in 'time', and when all three of them would change, and all three of them just knew it. Rutsey was a competent drummer, But Neil was the key to what Rush would become. Semper Fidelis
Oh, don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that I prefer him to Neil. I'm just saying it's a pity his drumming career was cut short by an incurable disease.

Amazing!!! reminds me a lot of Led Zeppelin :-)
You can't compare with LZ ... these 3 guys have created such that sounds on different way...

You’re missing some amazing music. Start with Clockwork Angels and work your way back.
This was the first song (live version though ATWAS) that cemented me as a lifelong fan. The year was 1978.
THIS SONG MAKES ME LOVE CANADA 😍🇨🇦😍🇨🇦😍 Back when Rush had the MAGIC.
Would have loved to have been right down the front of the stage at those 1974 gigs...
Reminds me of Led Zep for some reason particularly beacause of the guitar riff
I forgot how great this song is ♥️
Love it, song with captivating guitar riffs...
what a great picture.
the best version - congratulacions from Brazil
First rush song my band played. High school days. Still a blast to hear.
APPROVED.
Best drummer ever , end of story ....
This song John Rutsey is the drummer...before Neil.
rush will never die
Intro till ending is just rolling music !
Neil Ellwood Peart "R.i.P" 🎵🎼🎶😎👊
Badass pictures!
That is a fucking monster riff from a guitarist whose lifeblood is fucking monster riffs. WOW.
What about A Farewell To Kings and Hemispheres and Permanent Waves? Those are some great albums
In my opinion, this song has a drum beat very similar to that of HeartBreaker off of Led Zeppelin II
Drum beat is very similar to immigrant song by Led Zeppelin
The thing I love most about the older Rush songs is the Tone. that fat Marshall Plexi stands out big in the mix.
chuck jones AGREED
The tone is awesome. Very powerful.
Nice! Thx!!
Rush, 'nuff said.
I'D say RUSH

¡¡awesome riff!! i want to learn it in guitar:)
cuz they kick ass
hey fellas have you heard the news?
amy's back in town!
ah no wrong song!
check out the right foot off the drummer.....what a strong cadence!!!!!!
2112 was the best thing to happen to classic rock
Many people dont even realize that Neil isnt the original drummer for this song. What might have happened if John Rutsey hadnt had diabetes?
🎸🎸🎸🎶🎶🎶⚡⚡⚡⚡
Sorry Neil but I just love the drums on this 1st album!! just my opinion.. But I still love Neil!!
Regarding a statement earlier comparing Rush to Zeppelin...Alex Lifeson is an amazing guitarist in many ways...and is superior to Jimmy Page, end of story :)
I personally like jimmy, but to each their own
I totally agree!

Boi stop lying. Jimmy page & Jimi Hendrix are the greatest guitarists of all time
Alex Lifeson >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> All >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Jimmy Page.
I've done this score
I always thought this song had kind of an early Black Sabbath vibe myself.
As well as kind of a Led Zeppelin one, with the regular drum groove being practically the same as the one from Immigrant Song

Even today's "Tom Sawyer" likes this song.
Deep Purple+Led Zeppelin=
Luis, de donde sacaste esta version??
