Fun watching you mix with this controller. This coming year, I have gigs across the country where I need to be REALLY portable and leave my Denon Prime at home. So I thought I'd try my iPad and this controller in advance to see if I could pull off some decent sets. In fact, in the past I was using a Hercules Inpulse 500 with an iPad as one of my solutions. Well, so far, so good with the DJControl Mix. It's a little "clicky" and short on dedicated controls, but out of the box, it's serviceable for basic mixing. The real breakthrough trick for me was repurposing some "SHIFT" button functions and a knob or two in order to get more freedom from the iPad touch screen. My ideal scenario is that, in the throes of a set, I should almost NEVER have to use a touch screen. My Personal preference. With the remapping, I can now also do stem mutes/solos and even basic library view toggling, playlist browsing, and song loading from the controller, even though it doesn't default to having control for those things. It's only a $100+ controller, so expectations should be managed accordingly. But as you've demoed in the video, it's more about the creativity of the DJ than it is about having a $3,000 system. Anyone using this controller with djay Pro should absolutely explore custom mappings to make it your own. Really opens things up for smoother mixing sessions.

Bought it and i can say its fun to mess with.
That's good to hear! Glad you like it!
Please make a video tutorial how to make video like this ?
Oh man! That would be interesting, just to give a studio tour on how I record. Maybe in the future!
@@djcarlo Bay the wey i am a grl dj to !
wauw..dude.....your the king 😉
No no, I'm but just a humble servant in this DJ world. Hahahaha, maybe one day!
So much skill Bro. Im sure you could probably do a decent set even with just the keyboard and trackpad. Thanks for the guide!
Haha that's a good suggestion! Thanks for the idea!
Can the controller select songs?
Nope! Unless you remap it to do so :)
Nice❤️❤️❤️❤️
Glad you like this mix bud!
Cool dude so cute!
Love this tiny portable thing!
I love it that you remind everyone to KIS (Keep It Simple)! Do you show how to remap the controller in your courses? I've been wanting to remap some functions like you show here.
Oh that's a good suggestion! For the course, I don't show what I remap
@@djcarlo will you show us how to remap?
Hey DJ Carlo! Can you make videos on how to set up your decks, speakers and laptop?
We'll see about that! It's not much different from a standard set up, especially the ones you see in the manuals that come with controllers haha
Hey carlo, love you brother, love from Bangladesh 🇧🇩 ❤
Love you too! Thanks for watching!
Yo carlo, could you make a video on mapping buttons and stuff? I dont think im the only one who cant do it... im changing the buttons to the filters in the corner but when i turn the knob that i mapped to the corner filters they turn but nothing happens to the song :c
Oh man! Well, got lots of people asking for mapping vids, so I'll see about making one. Just keep trying bud! Mapping was a lot of trial and error for me too.
