I'm very impressed that they are able to flawlessly shorten the song for television and remember all the cues after the thousands of times they've played the full length Uprising
True that! Muse already have a colossal, world wide reputation as one of the best bands on the planet! Their following is truly substantial compared to many other bands, being awesome live does help :D
all you guys saying that this is shit, I think you're all forgetting something. This is Muse, it doesn't matter if it sounds a bit different. I saw them at wembley and it was the best live performance I have ever seen. They are absolutely INSANE.
i heard this song for the first time on jonathan ross last friday! i've never really been a fan of muse; the only song i liked was the one about "our time is running out" but i must say... i LOVE this song!!
good comment! you cant be the biggest band ever without the follow ons and hype! all part of it! im sure muse welcome fans of all walksof life but will always remember the original fans!
@AmuseMe543 definately uses an octave pedal and most probably the russian equivelent of the big muff, as well as other distortion, maybe a boss overdrive. He most probably even uses one of his synth pedals as well by the sounds of it. In the album version in the bridge of the song, either a EQ scale is messed around with or a kaossilator pad is used to fade it and make it sound like its in another room
@PHXXXXXX i'm 16 and i would love to go to a concert of theirs. but i would be freaking out because their musical ability is awesome, not because they're "hot". so don't hate all teenage fans because they are one of the best bands i have ever listened to...no joke.
@twimatt I started to listen "muse" 'cause of that too.... now I love all their music... I mean they are such a great band... I love Matt's voice too, and how Chris plays the bass, and Dom and the drums..... And what makes me love them more was the fact that they are live performers, they never lipsync and, if somebody force them, they make fun with him.
that would be Morgan Nicholls. he always joins for the live shows, he handles the background music parts that they cant do with their instruments (like the piano in starlight or the resistance piano)
now i feel bad, i just read that chris grew the moustache for Movember, and its supporting prostate cancer. :s sorry for doubting u chris!!! we luv you!
@Stormeyworld Indeed the Twilight soundtrack has a lot of good artists :) Heard the soundtrack before i saw the movie and that soundtrack is the reason that i first started to listen on Muse. Then it was because i like their music and Matt´s voice. The final blow that made me obsessed with Muse was the interviews ^^ All thanks to the promise Matt gave to Stephenie Meyer :)
@PHXXXXXX I don't know what 15 year olds you are referring to because when I went to see them I saw a lot of people in their 20's to mid-40's. Especially between 20-30 year olds. If you are trying to say all the Twliight fans why don't you just say it? I don't think it's a bad thing for them to like MUSE. Just because they went to see Twlight doesn't mean they have bad music tastes, I actually bought the Twllight soundtrack and found a lot of good artists featured on it. Especially MUSE.
@TheJamieRockwells Sorry, I'm not the type that downloads things. The jazz piano version of Cave is great and the wicked one is also great in it's wicked way. And i don't really listen to other rockbands so i didn't know who Bono was first but it was obvius that Matt was on the ninth cloud and i was happy with him. You have no idea how many times i've listened to We Are The Universe and Popcorn even though i sadly don't have them in my collection yet. Glorius and Soaked are great songs but i do
it's indeed not as wild as their old live but dude, muse gotta change, and this change, for me and as well as many other muse fans, is not so bad i love the new album!~
nice moustachio chris! :P i think, that it definitely makes him look older than matt and dom...which isnt necessarily a bad thing, i personally think he looks better without it, but he looks good both ways. COME PLAY SOME CANADIAN SHOWS, MUSE!!!
I was just saying...it was kinda cool though when they came to dublin a few weeks back there was a big protest march the day they were playing, it almost felt like there was something happening!
@TheJamieRockwells kind of prefer Futurism and Piano Thing. And i don't know how it's with you, but i actually get more updates from awesome people that are admins on muse-fan-pages on facebook than i get from my added friends. For me Musers is like a big family and you don't fit in that category so i big you goodbye with the lyrics of the hidden song on Starlight.
@marioman2006 It doesn't have nearly as much energy as most of their live songs. They just stand/sit there, in front of their instruments and play them normally. There's none of the wacky guitar flailing and swinging. No fantastically improvised solos. Although, they do have a very small slot on a chat show. So there's not much room for creativity.
wtf is up with Chris's hair! And the facial?! I do like that jacket tho :P You can watch the whole thing on BBC iPlayer if you're in the UK. Just type muse jonathan ross
I agree with a few people here. This is a rare live miss for Muse. Every performance I have seen of this song is really boring. Which is a shame, because it's a damn awesome song.
ive never really liked this song, its always seemed far to boring... although i do like the instrumental bridge in the middle, and i love the way they remove the boring outro and put the middle/bridge riff in again at the end in this live preformance. altogether this is deff not the most boring preformance of this song, but infact the preformances on ther tour to the public seem to be boring as hell.
to all the people poo pooing this performance, imo it picks up alot after the first chorus and the guitar chimes in, then I'm pretty sure its downright awesome! My 2 pennies anyway. I agree it seems rushed and squeezed into jonothan ross' pretty crappy stage set up.
I really don't like this song live at the moment. They always seem to perform Eurasia so well, but this sounds like there's something missing. I guess practice makes perfect.
lmao... watch them preform hysteria, knights of cydonia, plug in baby, stockholm syndrome, assassin, newborn. those are just examples of when the members of muse are at there peak. and i know muse preformances are incredible, im goin to see them live soon. they just better do the riff at the end, cause the studio ending to this song really is boring...
I'm very impressed that they are able to flawlessly shorten the song for television and remember all the cues after the thousands of times they've played the full length Uprising
Missed this on TV last night!
Thank You!
As above!
lovin this tune well done guys
brilliant as ever !
And this is why Muse are brilliant.
coming to singapore on 3rd feb 2010.. can't wait to see them
OMG this is AMAZING! Muse look perfect & played perfectly as well! :} Love this. ily Muse
True that! Muse already have a colossal, world wide reputation as one of the best bands on the planet! Their following is truly substantial compared to many other bands, being awesome live does help :D
And they're still killing It ⚡
flawless band!!
awesome!!!
I love that bass guitar.
never knew that, cheers
Niiiiice ending :3 Not seen this before!
I really love how he's staring DIRECTLY at the camera. Really trying to get his message across XD
Pedro is back!!!! i love muse
all you guys saying that this is shit, I think you're all forgetting something. This is Muse, it doesn't matter if it sounds a bit different. I saw them at wembley and it was the best live performance I have ever seen. They are absolutely INSANE.
Wow, they sound great live. Hope to have the chance to see them one day in concert.
Have you seen them live yet?
@@nowherewolfe Yes I have. They did sound great but only little disappointed with the singers stage presence and lack of connection with the public
@@neknarf1973 Wow really? Must have been an off-night then because Matt Bellamy is known for his eccentric and high energy stage presence.
i heard this song for the first time on jonathan ross last friday! i've never really been a fan of muse; the only song i liked was the one about "our time is running out" but i must say... i LOVE this song!!

Great ending!
I love Matthew's moves. : D

Vive Muse ! ;)
Teehee, I absolutely adore Matt's shoulderpads. =D
second that!
MEXICO abril 20 !!!!!
that would be Morgan Nicholls. he always joins for the live shows, he handles the background music parts that they cant do with their instruments (like the piano in starlight or the resistance piano)
now i feel bad, i just read that chris grew the moustache for Movember, and its supporting prostate cancer. :s sorry for doubting u chris!!! we luv you!
Chris : "come on" Made me laugh
Dont ya hate it when the radio version takes out the epic solo and end :(
Happy they included solo in this ^^
thanks! yeah, I made it yeaaaaaars ago...
@FLcruiser62 Thank!!!! Somebody needs to give Chris some credit, hes just as important as Matt
glad to see matt's random hand movements are back in fashion :D
I can't agree more emexlondaxe. These guys are a great band, not to mention they sound great live.
Matts uncle was a British soldier though, that was the risk he took in his job. The IRA generally targetted official targets in the past.
they always play with 4 live
@Stormeyworld Indeed the Twilight soundtrack has a lot of good artists :) Heard the soundtrack before i saw the movie and that soundtrack is the reason that i first started to listen on Muse. Its a fund raiser thing for a charity, where you grow your moustache for a month, and obviously he is participating ^^
No, they were sooo great before new moon
@TheJamieRockwells Sorry, I'm not the type that downloads things. The jazz piano version of Cave is great and the wicked one is also great in it's wicked way. one of the better things in Bishopsteignton, how's you're phone box Matt?
it's indeed not as wild as their old live
but dude, muse gotta change, and this change, for me and as well as many other muse fans, is not so bad
i love the new album!~
aw! wobbly face wen he sed controooool us!! aaaagh! hes so CUTE!!!
Alessandro Cortini, i believe.
chris's tache is so cute LOL haha, i just said 'cute' for a tache? unbelievable but yes it is xD
@cliffyjames Totally Right who doesnt like Muse is cuz doesnt know what music means! He got a great voice plays guitars fucking great.
@mabbiii you should see when he plays starlight on later with jools holland. he looks pissed the whole performance lol
Yeah, it's a headless bass! He's been using it a lot lately. Not a fan of them myself!!
Those are some serious shoulderpads on Matt's jacket!!
1:36
nice moustachio chris! :P i think, that it definitely makes him look older than matt and dom...which isnt necessarily a bad thing, i personally think he looks better without it, but he looks good both ways. COME PLAY SOME CANADIAN SHOWS, MUSE!!!
which were the guests at this show?
You're serious? You got to meet with Muse? How cool is that! What r they like?
what effect does chris use for this song?
Matt and Chris are hot as ever :D
It's a status bass, actually
@AirdrieUnitedDaft i think they are cousines
I was just saying...it was kinda cool though when they came to dublin a few weeks back there was a big protest march the day they were playing, it almost felt like there was something happening!
Its a steinberger headless bass
You know they're playing and not miming if they're all in the correct places !
Is this song about Irish rebels?
Is that the only way that could explain it?
Wait a min. Why are there 4 of them?
Who's playing the keyboards?
Whats up with Chris' Bass? Theres no head!
cute Dom
Yea, thanks. I found an article about him now.
It seems to me that he's more like a back-stage guy. Keeps away from the cameras and the press.
Casue they want to go streight into restaince live while on this they just want to end it. :) i LOVE the riff :L
BBC
haha, so come on!
Yea, but who's the fourth?
What's his name?
@MuseManiac25
agree!!
they haven't got half the talent that matt bellamy is carrying around
Why?
this is a pretty good proformance for last year i notice it took them a while to truely get this song done well
personally i think this song is about the NWO & the Illuminati!! Good track!!
@TheJamieRockwells kind of prefer Futurism and Piano Thing. People who love the riff have good taste in music :) one of my friend hates it but he's wrong :L
Chris here looks like Ricky Martin
@marioman2006 It doesn't have nearly as much energy as most of their live songs. They just stand/sit there, in front of their instruments and play them normally. him, not you that is :3
wtf is up with Chris's hair! And the facial?!
I do like that jacket tho :P
You can watch the whole thing on BBC iPlayer if you're in the UK. Just type muse jonathan ross
No, although matt's uncle or someone was killed by the IRA, would you believe!
There's not enough excitement in this song to be good live. I miss the days when Muse were crazy live :(
Performance was awesome, but you can tell the acoustics weren't as good as some of their other live performances :P
Well then your friend doesn't know Muse very well =)
I agree with a few people here. This is a rare live miss for Muse. Every performance I have seen of this song is really boring. Which is a shame, because it's a damn awesome song.
hmmm a bit of pisstake with Chris's extremely high 'come on'?
Sure...because they weren't extremely famous already...
open your third eye
....lol what is Matt wearing xD? way too big for him. should have sticked with a shirt and pants.
Love Chris's stache lol
lol no m8...
ive never really liked this song, its always seemed far to boring...

Kid? Pffhhht! No grandpa I'm not a kid. Why don't you pick up your cane and go drink your ensure now...go along.
I really don't like this song live at the moment. They always seem to perform Eurasia so well, but this sounds like there's something missing. I guess practice makes perfect.
Who hate Twilight??matt dont do that things, even matt create a soundtrack for twilight ,called a "neutron star collision" ...
Kevin Valentino lol
lmao... watch them preform hysteria, knights of cydonia, plug in baby, stockholm syndrome, assassin, newborn.
those are just examples of when the members of muse are at there peak.
and i know muse preformances are incredible, im goin to see them live soon.
they just better do the riff at the end, cause the studio ending to this song really is boring...
Wow, ignorance at it's finest.
