Great review and I guess the game is also cool I will get it sooner or later. I can't stand the Rimworld graphics even if I know that Rimworld is awesome 😀
I've also wanted a 3d version of rimworld, this game is good but it's got a long ways till it's as complex as rimworld. I want trainable pets and more survivors in your colony.
Think this review is rather harsh actually..for early access it has more potential than so many others out there. And I find it really enjoyable.. but that's my own opinion
To be honest, Rimworld was always a tad too involved for me in its simulation. I liked it earlier but then it went into a very DF-like direction with difficulties I didn't care for. This might be right up my alley. Props for reviewing this, maybe review it again in the future when it's ready? And thanks for using 4K! Subscribed
So Frontier went from being somewhere high up in rankings of creative and immersive games to more of a tencent kind of vibe, so like most things from England, it's now made in China.
This one is very similar to Endzone just a bit more micromanagement. Rimworld maybe better but for me still too pricey. Mediaval i enjoyed for a while but not much battles
Highly appreciate you and your efforts for help, I despise how bad the intelligence is in games, the characters are moody and have meltdowns for stupid things, or even for no reason or they could solve the issue by themselves infinitely easy, like, the last drop being that they were starved, like, BRO, you have FOOD, you can butcher some carcasses or f HARVEST the crops that are like AFK there and beg to be used... This really kills me and my enjoyment brother! I m speaking about this Rimworld simulation thing... It's so toxic and braincancerous, it's just stupid.
Ive got about 2000 hours in this game, Im one of the reviewers for my gaming club, I would at this time not recommend this game do to the lack of long term playability due to metal ore or scrap running out after around 6-8 hrs of game time, you need that stuff to repair or make stuff and you will run out. The seconf thing is lack of configurability, yes you get to choose your survivors but thats it, if they ever mod this game so you get to swap out the advanced research picks you wouldnt get me off this game but I do not think that will happen. The game purchaser should decide how the game should progress.
Steam - 9/10 on 2939 reviews. I have to say I completely disagree with what you've said about lack of simple road for inhabitants. Have you notice that most of the time they choose the shortest possible way going diagonally through all the fields etc? When making a roads would require going probably around of some of these objects when they just crossover..
Do remember this video review came out 5 months ago during early access. Not sure if that makes a difference but I am curious where you see the number 9/10... As steam doesn't use numeric rating system
@@IAmWBeard if they are already selling the game, they can take some legit criticism. also getting feedback is part of these "early access" "beta" or w/e phases are for.
I notice you don't mention the publisher, but not sure if that was a conscious decision or one you were advised to make. Never buying another game from Frontier Developments again for console.
this logic is why devs think they can release garbage unplayable games and chalk it up as early access never finished messes im all for small dev teams and early access titles but also hate when ppl use that to account for game breaking bugs an no accountability, yes if a game is early access that means buy at your own risk an may never be finished but most games now come out early access half finished which wouldnt be big issue if they planned to finish them or if they needed feedback an help testing but most time end up ignoring players and doing w.e they want anyways so if its just to cash out of half made game then its big problem which more of less ends up being the case because why finish the game if they already got paid and arent held to account for finishing the game how many games have started from kickstarter an gave roadmaps and end up getting forced released to get out of early access and raise the price and abandon there are many kickstarters that didnt even go through with making the game because there not held to account for anything they provide there idea nothing created just an idea ppl pay money in hopes it'll become made and half a game in early access is really no different at all if its buggy and not finished or lacking then all your left with is a demo that youve paid full price for
Wait till they fix the game, playing on PS4 save data corruption, crashing and crafting is incredibly unbalanced Survivor A.I. is stupid, built a fence, forget to build a gate and my survivor couldn't get out, wouldn't even deconstruct a part of the wall, just ran around freaking out. The games Haemimont Games create always are poorly balanced and have retarded A I.
Crazy how the alien planet comes with perfectly manicured lawn.

What other 3D colony sims are out there? I find it hard to find any good ones.
Going Medieval
yes going medieval is good and gets regular updates

Your reviews are very well made 👍

I agree. Lets hope it gets better on release but, now? Is too basic

idk man, I was ready to buy it....but then I saw that it had Denuvo. Big turn off for me.
i mean if your pro's list is like 10% compared to the cons i would not say its a 5/10
It is still in early access currently. I feel like that’s worth pointing out.
My good man this was very clearly stated at the start of the video.
@@jacobjohnson9500 maybe but the rest of the video came off a little harsh considering

The moment you said the "walking path" I immediately clicked the notification bell icon! that info is missing from all of the reviewers of this game!
Yes! It's so addictive

Why is frontier so bad? They made planet coaster & zoo & those are GREAT games!
Does this game have a cheat menu / console commands?
i try RimWorld, but it is not to my liking, so i put it down... i might get this one instead...
Meeple station & going medieval are great games if you enjoy those kinds of game mechanics.
I’m not gonna lie I’m a bit disappointed we don’t take the role of a person ourselves
great review thanks, but seems most of your cons = early access problems

too expensive . if it were 20 $ not 35 $ it would have been ok !
So it's like rimworld, only with the annoying aspects enarged.
