So Devops is a set of production practices, not a rigid set of rules or specific technologies? These practices are centered around continuous integration and automation (CIA)? Whether we use Jenkins or a bash script for a build, as long as we are implementing CIA we are practicing Devops?

Exactly, you are very correct. However, you missed the end goal.. The end goal is to deliver fast software, which add value to the end user.
      please take note,
      SPEED & VALUE

I stopped listening in the second half because this doesn't describe the culture at Amazon it's a safari through Amazon Products.
I expected a hands-on report of how Netflix operates in real life and not talking about DevOps fundamentals.

All just theory talked by manager (or who ever this guy is) who is managing by paper. Practical DevOps is a bit more complicated then crossing "days" and write "hours" and stop waiting for deployment... where is a useful information???

He speaks about AWS services in later part of talk, I think this is more like AWS education ad.

@@mzs114 agree with you. I also noticed all those talks specially on exhibitions mostly sounds as advertisement. Practising DevOps and hitting problems, resolving it gives different view on whole methodology.
