HalleluYah God bless you Dr Ndhlovu, my husband introduced me to Hebrew roots Messianic and we keep the Sabbath from Friday sunset until Saturday sunset, our worship day is Saturday our Sabbath. We celebrate God's feast days like the Passover not easter, Hannukah as opposed to Christmas, Sukkot (Feast of Tabernacles), Shavuot (Pentecost), Yom Kippur (Atonement.. and for sure we see God's blessings. I am glad that this is being addressed in Africa, especially the way pagan holidays have become so commercialized and have nothing to do with God or Jesus.

I honestly did not know about this . I have 2yrs in salvation n I started following the man of God here in Dubai in 2019.i had to repent. I did my research on what he said. It's more than he even explained. Let them that have ears hear what the Spirit says to the church. My decision is this Dec was my last celebration though I didn't celebrate cz I was going for nytshift. I found more than this. Even though I was born on 14/02 which we call it valentine's day.. it's a pagan festival too. I will not celebrate nothing. I'll thank God for adding me another year . *LIE NO. 5 - That Christmas is the Birthday of the Saviour*
Let us start by saying that the entire concept of celebrating birthdays is not biblical. There is not a single Bible verse supporting, authorizing, commanding, or in any other way, propping up the practice. Instead, we find several pieces of scripture where men of God are cursing, regretting, lamenting, or generally lambasting their birthdays (Jeremiah 20:14, 18; Job 3:1, 3:3; Ecclesiastes 7:1, etc). In the only two places where birthdays are mentioned, it is in connection with pagan Gentile kings. In the first episode, Pharaoh, King of Egypt celebrates his birthday. In the course of the proceedings, his chief baker is executed (Genesis 40:20). In the second incident, Herod the Roman king of Judea, is also celebrating his birthday. Again, a man - John the Baptist - , loses his life (Mark 6:21-28)! Are these deaths coincidental? Is there more to the many deaths associated with the so-called season of Yuletide?!
Now to the actual question of Christmas itself. Is the term even biblical? No. Is the 25th of December mentioned anywhere in the Bible, let alone as the Saviour's birthday? No. Is there any biblically commanded memorial of the Saviour's birthday? No. So then, where did this popular, elaborate, wholly absorbing, multi million dollar tradition come from? It is our purpose here, to try and address ourselves precisely to that question.
The pagans of Rome had an agricultural festival in honour of the planetary god Saturn. It was called the Saturnalia and was a week-long period of unbridled levity, carousing, lawlessness, and debauchery. It fell between 17th to 25th December, every year. During this annual festal season, Roman courts of law were closed and the Rule of Law was suspended. According to Roman law, no one could be prosecuted for breaking the law, damaging property, or injuring people during these wild, week-long celebrations.
First, the Roman authorities chose an "enemy of the people" (mostly Jews) to represent the "Lord of Misrule". Each Roman community chose a male victim, who was then plied with food and drink, and many other indulgences in the course of the week. At the festival's conclusion on 25th December, the victim would be dragged through the streets, pelted with stones, rotten tomatoes and eggs, human filth, ridiculed, beaten up, etc. Eventually he would be brutally murdered (mostly through crucifixion) in the misguided belief that they were destroying the forces of darkness in doing so.
The festival itself included, in addition to human sacrifice, widespread intoxification, singing carols, going from house to house in the nude, rape and other sexual abberrations, etc.
In the fourth century AD, the Saturnalia was imported into the Church of Rome, hoping to take with it, the pagan masses into Christianity. The promise that the heathen could continue celebrating the Saturnalia as Christmas ensured that the compromising Church leaders succeeded beyond their wildest dreams. The only problem was that their was nothing intrinsically Christian about the Saturnalia. This problem was resolved by making Saturnalia's last day, the 25th of December, the birthday of Jesus!
It is important to note that the same day was celebrated by pagan Romans as "Dies Natalis Solis Invicti", meaning "Birthday of the Unconquerable Sun". It doubled up as the birthday of Sol, the Roman sun-god! (It is this Roman sun-god's name Sol, that gives us the English terms solar energy, solar panels, solar system, etc). It is vital to point out here that the Romans were doing nothing new, but rather continuing a long-standing pagan tradition initiated in ancient Babylon. In antiquity, the Chaldean religious mysteries began by Nimrod shortly after Noah's Flood (cf Genesis 10:8-10), involved the celebration of the re-birth of Nimrod as Tammuz. Tammuz was born on 25th December! With the dispersion of the peoples in Genesis 11:1-9, this tradition spread to the rest of the world. That is why many pagan deities were supposedly born on the same date! These gods include: Horus (Egypt), Mithras (Persia), Krishna (India), Buddha (Nepal), Mercury (Rome), Adonis (Greece), Zarathustra (Iran), Hercules (Rome), Dionysus, Hermes, Attis (Greece) etc. Essentially therefore, December 25th is a celebration of the birthday of the Babylonian sun-god.
Geographically speaking, the sun is overhead the Tropic of Capricorn on 22nd December. This means that the northern hemisphere is in winter. Yet we are told that there were shepherds abiding in the fields with their flocks by night when Yahshua was born (cf Luke 2:8)! How could that be possible? Only crazy shepherds would risk the lives of their animals by keeping them outdoors in those freezing temperatures! The shepherds could only have stayed outdoors if the weather was warm enough for them and their animals. Yahshua's birth could not, therefore, have taken place anywhere near December!
The Christmas tree is condemned in Jeremiah 10:1-3, as pagan idolatry. The five-pointed "Christmas star" has an uncanny resemblance to the occultic Baphomet pentagram. The Bible has prohibited us from calling anyone on earth "father" in a religious perspective (Matthew 23:9). So why is there a "Father Christmas"?! This bearded Scandinavian old man's Latin name is Santa Claus. It's English equivalent is Saint Nicholas. Isn't therefore strange that the devil is also called "Old Nick"? Isn't it even stranger that the Bible also refers to the devil as "...that ANCIENT serpent..." (Revelation 12:9)?! Is there a possibility that the two: Old Santa Claus and Satan are one and the same person? Is it coincidental that the words Santa, and Satan, are anagrams of each other?! We leave you to draw your own conclusions.
It is not therefore too farfetched to conclude that Christmas comes down to the deluded peoples of the earth from the heathen world. From the sun worshippers of Rome and ancient Babylon. The gaiety, the levity, the carols, the gift-giving, the Christmas tree, Santa Claus, Yule logs, the sacrifices, etc, are all relics of a patently pagan heritage (cf Jeremiah 16:19). In fact, the whole Christmas edifice is wholly pagan, both in origin as well as in character. That is why there's a gay spirit abroad during that time, with a carnival-like atmosphere actuating almost the whole world! Due to limitations as to space however, we will not go into the details here. We however believe that the LIE that Christmas is the Saviour's birthday, has been debunked. Blessings.
