Thanks for sharing I’m looking forward to your next sunscreen videos
Thanks so much for watching! I have a few sunscreen videos coming up soon!
Luv your videos! Do you recommend always washing face in the mornings or just splashing with water ?
Thank you for watching and for the kind comment! It really depends on you and there's no hard and fast rule for face washing. If your face feels oily in the morning you can go ahead and wash; otherwise you can just splash some water on
I was just prescribed hydroquinone for two months. Is it safe to use hydroquinone in the summer? I started it for the first time in the fall and used it for 4 months so I'm due to start again. I use sunscreen and I also use the bluestone shield. Also, I've been using Poems from the Lab Future Focus vitamin C by KindofStephen. It's my favorite vitamin c serum!
Hello, yes I often prescribe hydroquinone for patients with melasma especially in the summer to try to keep it under control. The important thing is to take breaks to avoid paradoxical reactions of darkening to usage. I did not know KindofStephen made a vitamin C - that's so cool! Will need to try
Dr. Joyce, do these tips apply to the body as well? Specifically hyperpigmentation? I have a lot of dark spots left on my back from acne and then on my legs from a medi spa laser treatment that left little ulcers (turned into purple/red marks). I put tretinoin on them but this hasn’t lightened them at all. I also use a glycolic acid lotion a few days a week but everything is still purple/red. Is there something else that works better? Thank you!
Hello, yes these tips apply to body skin too! Dark marks can worsen with uv exposure anywhere on the body, not just on the face. I’m so sorry to hear about the medi spa laser treatment :( my best recommendation is to see a dermatologist who might be able to offer alternate procedures like a different laser for red scars and marks.
Thanks, Joyce! I was actually referred by my derm to this med spa so that is the unfortunate part! I got an appt with a new derm office and he recommended a laser specialist 2.5 hours away who is a cosmetic derm. We dont have cosmetic derms in my town (just medical) so it is the medi spas here that have all the lasers. I am in a small town in Pa so not many options which sucks! I was getting my spider legs done with a red pigment targeted Yag laser and wasn’t expecting my legs to look a lot worse after. You just never know who is good until you try them out sadly.
Hi, ik it's a bit random, but is Betaine an anti-aging chemical? Because I'm 13, and I had a gift, and it contains Betaine 😅
