Spoilers for Horizon Forbidden West! Игры
Machines in the Horizon, are so well made... Not only good design, but also noises, animations or attacks
Indeed. The one thing that was missing from this amazing video is a discussion of audio--how the sounds this particular machine makes are selected/found/built. Because one of the things I love is that after a while, you can tell what sort of machine is nearby but out of sight just by the sounds it's making Tallnecks, Thunderjaws and Tremortusks all have heavy footfalls that can be heard and felt at a distance and are often your first hint that one is nearby, but once you've encountered them all, there's no mistaking which one is over the next dune, just by its sounds.
I spend too much time staring at the animation of the Slitherfang's movements.
@@roxiesthebae2716 I really love Tremontusk animations, but Slitherfang is a little bit broken...😅 He often get into the textures and freeze for some reason
@@jedruloa4278 Yeah he does. But when he doesn't, I still stand and watch.
@@roxiesthebae2716Yep, it is kinda beautiful ✨
The Slither fang is hands down the coolest robot they made. The animation, the flavour, the movement, oh it's pure bliss.
I love snakes😊🐍
You guys did an amazing job at creating these new machines for us to fight 🙏 can't wait to see what you have in store for us in the DLC, when will that be??? 😇
Agreed answer
Same.
Yeah same
I hope there will be even tougher machines to kill
True
I still can’t believe how much work goes in making just one machine, then you have all the other machines as well and on top of that you guys also made not one, but two amazing open world games in the franchise. The amount of work you all have put in there is insane but boy does it pay off because the result is absolutely amazing. Love to see our ‘kleine kikkerlandje’ doing these big things! :)
Our “kleine kikkerlandje” 😂😂😭
The end product looks absolutely amazing
Incredible! Imagine all the time put into this project. Thanks Guerrilla!
I was surprised to see the slitherfang so early in Horizon Forbidden West. An absolute spectacular enemy. I'm hoping that there's dlc on the way for HFW, and if not I can't wait for the third installment in the series. Guerilla rocks.
honestly too early. Game became boring in the later game hours because nothing new was on the horizon.
@@emilsinclair6202 Talk about your experience.
@@emilsinclair6202 I have 250 hours in HFW and thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it. I would love dlc with more machines and story. 😁😁😁
@4K 40FPS yes there is a dld
I’m currently studying game development so it’s very interesting and cool to see these types of videos!
I’m thinking about doing so too haha. Where do you study? 👀
@@samoerai6807 sweden so I won’t have much chances
@@swagmechazomb1252 you will get what you’re looking for bro. Eventually 💪🔥
is there any material you are studying from ??
My FAVORITE of the big machines! It's so elegant and believably still a machine, the plating sturdy and protective, but with the right amount of curves and angles to allow for the body to coil and stretch without the plates clipping!
Based on this video the elegance can be seen from Concept, Modeling, Rigging, to Animation! All of the teams that worked on these machines built them not only to move and fight, but also have an even bigger role in the machine ecosystem than in Zero Dawn, did a GORGEOUS job and I would be happy to just sit and watch Concept sketch out each machine or Modeling shape each plate, or Maxim come in with his team and make the breakable areas Horizon-y!
And just like Jedruloa said, even the sounds each machine makes are SO GOOD!💙
This was beyond amazing to watch!
I need a slitherfang figure/statue so bad!! One of the sickest enemy designs in any game!
the Slitherfang is by far the most impressive machine in the game. its movements and patterns are beyond stunning, no wonder the devs said that it was the most difficult machine to implement. it's just perfect in terms of design, gameplay and appearance.
well done Guerrilla, HFW is one hell of a game and a lot of praise is towards the awesome machine designs and gameplay!
Excellent video! All the new machines in HFW are so good and varied, the Slitherfangs movement is so well thought out and such a great combat challenge. You guys did an excellent job!
This shows how much hard work, dedication and crativity is put in Horaizon forbidden west thank you Guerrila!!!
Your 3D modelers are incredible! How many Tri's did your Slitherfang model have?! Also, the animators did such a pro job on its movement.
You guys did a lovely job designing the Slitherfang!
I wonder, I saw that figurine/sculpture concept with a background. Would we be getting more items/merch like that in the future?
I know with the collectors addition we had the Tremortusk, but having other machines?? It would look awesome displayed somewhere in the home!
I need to get comfortable drawing machines, but I can’t wait to draw this one in particular!
Thanks for the video, and keep it up guys! ^^
next time, make all machines mountable!!! Since we are facing like an extinction protocol entity or AI, might as well give us opportunity to mount thunderjaws and tremortusks, even Regala's rebels can override and mount the machines, why can't Alloy? Can we have more melee weapons to use? Can we do water combat and aerial combat?
Oh my God! Imagine work for Guerrila and have the honor to be part of the development of a machine like this!
Great compliments especially to the machine scores. They are downright amazing in this game, give so much more weight to the machine archetypes.
Seeing that intro snake boss on a 4k HDR screen was like WOW! look at that! This game truly is the next gen standard when it comes to animations and graphics.
everything in this game, story, characters , graphics etc are epic
Such an impressive machine! It was one of my biggest challenges to fight it in one of the cauldrons. So difficult, so well done. The big turtle thing is tricky as well.
Gorgeous work. Love this behind the scenes as a 3D artist. Ps: I could watch an hour of this, please consider posting more.
Would love to see more of this and longer vids haha
Insane detail went into these machines and it was worth it's amazing how good these things look u gotta respect the work
I just love this franchise so much, there is so much love put into it.
I love the horizon series. Everything about these games is so well made and just stunning to play.
This game is such a masterpiece
Every machines is a design masterpiece.
They all look so cool !
Horizon games really deserve praise!
Thank you to all of the Guerrilla team for this fantastic, outstanding, captivating game. Those designs really are somethinge else, the talent and hard work are next level
I love the Slitherfang!!!!! Thank you guys so much for showing us this!!!!!
You guys should do more behind the scenes videos! I always love seeing how studios make their games. Amazing video though, Slitherfang has to be one of my favourite machines in the game so it’s cool seeing how you guys went about making it.
Amazing art work
The robots in horizon forbidden west feels like puzzles that are perfectly but together to make a masterpiece of 2022
You had to win "the best game 2022" for me, you are amazing!
It's hard to really appreciate all the details in the design and animation when the machines are trying to murder you all the time haha. So impressive tho and just another example of how under appreciated this whole series is.
Thanks for show it!
Hands down my favorite part of this franchise, literally awesome 👏
Its cool the Slitherfang has its own theme song its very challenging and cool!
Amazing job guys 👏👏👏 one of the hardest and most challenging machines to take down (for me at least because it's always moving so it's tough to get a good angle for a shot) but overall the game is a true masterpiece, waiting for the DLC and the next game. Good luck guys 👏👏
Beyond impressive. The snake fights are the best!
The machines in both games are next-level.
The game’s a graphic marvel guys👌👌👌👌👌!! You out did yourselves there, the details of sweat, pimples on the character’s skin, simply extracting attentional to detail, hope the flying mechanic’s carry on over though, including ridding a stormbird and more engagements with machines.
That's give me so big satysfacion from seeing a whole process , just , wow
One of the coolest new machines!!
This is amazing. I just started playing the first one and just by the way those machines terrify me I can see it is really well done.
You guys are doing a fantastic job creating very memorable machines
Amazing! I totally love your work! Cant wait DLC and Horizon III
There's no doubt that you did an amazing job. And Horizon is another game of the year
As a 60 year old gamer who got into video games after my retirement I must say that the Horizon franchise is hands down my favorite games to play. When I experienced the Slitherfang for the first time I knew I was going to be in for a wild ride with this game. I can't wait for the HFW DLC to drop next month and the third installment in this amazing franchise. Keep up the good work. You got a fan for life here.
Amazing work, really great game
First of all, thank you so, *so* much everyone at Guerrilla Games for this amazing sequel! I find literally everything in the game *beautiful* and the new (hidden) combat mechanics (how weapon coils and skill perks work) make machine hunts so much more enjoyable!
Not to mention the many additions and vast improvements in the whole game, especially spear combat!
Secondly, I'd like to make some suggestions for an, in my opinion, even more interesting and beyond immersive experience in dlc's and/or Horizon 3.
Things which will really put the players' hunter skills to the test.
*Roaming* machines for example, which another person's comment asked for with the Slitherfang. You'll always have to be on guard and alert of your environment. Not mention being mindful to keep a weapon loadout in mind which is versatile enough to counter the unexpected.
Buried Shellsnappers, Scroungers/Scrappers appearing at machine carcasses, machine convoys and suddenly a Slitherfang appearing north of Scalding Spear are prime good examples.
Examples for future content:
Roaming Stormbirds/Skydrifters flying over occasionaly anywhere on the map.
Scoungers/Scrappers appearing after a couple of seconds whenever lots of Lightweight machines or one Heavyweight have just been destroyed.
Heavier machines appearing at lighter weight machine sites when you have hunted those lightweights down a few times before. Like at first a Longleg/Skydrifters, a few more hunts and then a Ravager/Clawstriders and after even more hunts a Heavyweight machine.
Dreadwings could appear at night in a cave in or sheltered by a formation of trees, Tiderippers at machine sites next to large bodies of water, Thunderjaws for large herds.
And harsher climates:
- Sandstorms/blizzards/hail which will slowly drain Aloy's health unless you take cover somewhere. Think of fallen trees, boulders or a (small) cave. These weather patterns can quickly become a chore to get through though, possibly killing immersion levels in the process. Maybe keeping 'extreme' weather 'confined' in standard areas/sites or otherwise making them appear on certain times of the day only and for a limited period of time can balance out player immersion and fun.
- Hot areas like volcanos and deserts where Aloy can't just keep sprinting, her stamina regen slows down and becoming more susceptible to elements like Purgewater and Fire.
- Slowly building up a freeze status effect if you come out of (cold) water bodies while in cold areas. Canceling the buildup could be done by sitting/resting at a campfire. And by sprinting for a while, in combination with using moves like Slides, rolling and jumping you can slightly decrease the Freeze build up over time. Or simply use a Cleanse potion :p.
- Aloy can make her own food and has the option to cook every time she arrives at a Shelter.
Buying food is not necessarily a bad/boring thing in a game imo. But for a survivor like Aloy, I'd expect her to be able to cook her own food while out in the wilds.
Maybe adding a cooking skill tree or a cooking leveling system where the more frequently you cook at all/cook certain foods, the food bonus effects will gradually get better and more significant.
For battling weather effects, elemental status buildup slowing down during the consumed food duration, increase in *item* *discovery* percentages etc.
Once again, many thanks for Horizon 2 and I look forward to new Horizon content in the, hopefully, near future!
Sounds great! I’d also love to see machines hunting you. So you wouldn’t be hunter anymore, you’re the prey now
Very impressive. The whole game is mindblowing.
This must be the most complex enemy I've seen in a videogame ever. Beyond the incredible design, the animations and programming to interact with its surroundings. Must have been quite a ride to make this happen.
this breakdown of machine development is really cool to see !!
the slitherfang was so surreal and awesome in world 🤌
You are crazy!!! 😱😱😱Awesome!
想当初第一次在预告片中看到这家伙的时候就已经欲罢不能了 简直就是艺术品!
Awesome! All this work can be enjoyed by playing this amazing game..I love you Guerrilla ❤
As far as machines go, there are lots of cool ideas but imagine an ostrich machine mount👀
Fantastic game and beautiful design
It's amazing how concept art can become reality with what can be done with the new consoles. Can't wait to see more!
We want more videos like this for each machine please 🙂
I love Slitherfang designs they're cool !
Amazing!
Horizon is one of the best games of the decade. Thank you so much Guerrila for making this marvellous experience a reality
simply incredible
amazing work i wish and hope if you show making of Cauldrons i love your games
HFW took my breath away, I'll say I find it to be for whatever reason underappreciated and overlooked. This game is not only massive, but filled with so much care and details. The quality is unbelievable and the story is pure gold. For the Game Awards I voted in almost every category for Horizon.
Incredibile job … really unbelievable ❤
Amazing! Such great work. In the DLC that we’re all assuming is coming 👀, can you have these bad boys roaming instead of confined to an area? Man that would really put you on your guard if they came up out of nowhere! But seriously though, that DLC? 🙏
YES! That would really make the game *way* more interesting and immersive!
Not to mention it really puts your hunter skills to the test, always being alert and equipped with versatile gear.
@@soulsborne5053and they should try to implement machines that hunt you instead of you hunting machines!! So once in awhile you might hear/spot something in the bushes/underwater bushes stalking you.
One of the things I love in this game is when the crocodile ( I forgot it’s name ) stares at you underwater, gives me the creepy feeling that I’m being hunted but I love it
@@ron.malttt Snapmaw ;p. And yes, talk about a major immersion buff! Roaming machines looking for Aloy would even fit the lore with how the Main quest ended.
Imagine yourself in a giant jungle with an area full of 7 ft tall tall (lol) grass. You hear faint rustling in the tall grass, as slowly a Slitherfang approaches your six..
Wow now that was Awesome.
This is amazing
The amount of tiny little de tails on the model is insane
Simply amazing!
It would be interesting to see a gorilla-inspired machine, as well as a shark or whale-based machine. Of course, in the sequel.
I'm so excited!
Sounds nice 👀
I need to play this Game again. Finished it yesterday on ultra Hard, but i simply dont get enough ^^
Horizon Forbidden West is incredible, the design of the machines is top notch, the Slitherfang and Slaughterspine are my favorites, great job Guerrilla Games 👏👏👏
Forbidden west has such a good story I've just spoken too Tilda and am very excited too see how this ends
Well detailed. This kind of finished games can only be expected from sony first party studios
Congrats on the snake animation and ain I heard that properly animated snakes are quite hard specially if there's more proper physics to it.
Its really cool man...
Tallnecks were my favorite machines until I saw that slitherfang at the tutorial. I was speechless.
Masterpieces 🤌🏼🤌🏼🤌🏼😘
What an incredible game... Can't wait for the PC release!
I CANNOT WAIT FOR THIS TO FINALLY RELEASE TO PC
Your games are amazing
those things were intimidating
That's so cool 😀
Playing this game is endless fun
Cant even describe how happy i was to get a second horizon game, think I finished the first game like 5 times or smth
I bet the tech artists loved making the slitherfang. 😂😂
Got Better Than Concept Art . You Are :] The Game Of The Year :]
GJ!
Que bonito es ver cómo la tecnología facilita a los creadores de videojuegos crear obras maestras
Incredible, Slitherfang is. 😊 Technical question, if I may: at 1:34 (e.g.), we see a low-poly model. Are they used in an early-stage when the high-poly modell is still work-in-progress but the animator already works on the actions?
love this game very much
Please we want a DLC!!
uhhhhhh sick!
I love both horizon games 😍
The render at timestamp 0:45-0:50 looks like it could be 3d-printable, any chance of getting the file for printing, or fir some other machines? (Tallneck 😍)
Dammm this would be SO COOL 🤩
Interesting!
Haven't played forbidden west yet but I just bought it and currently downloading it and since the first trailer I saw this was what got me the most hyped I LOVE snakes and I love snakes in video games when done right and they actually slither around using the environment to their advantage and well I am aware it's difficult to code something like that which makes it rare... really rare to see a proper snake the best snakes so far have been in dragons dogma the hydra which was a 10/10 and monster hunter but godamn I hope this one will dethrone them cause it's been too long since a better snake happened
Horizon zero dawn has one of the best enemy design, the combat might be a little repetitive, but it is still fun and engaging. Imagine a multiplayer/co-op hunting mode like Monster Hunter. I'd never stop playing.
