A smith showed me a punh handle that curved to the side of the hand holding it. This allowed him to see the punch as it cut so he could more easily follow a line.
Yours are the first chisel handles I’ve seen like these. Most smiths use special tongs. I do think a detent makes sense, or a flat side at least, to maximize holding surface of the screws. Nice project!
Thank you! It's definitely my go-to, and by far my favorite in the collection. If you'd like to see me make it, you can watch the video here: ruclips.net/video/buzfCruNvCw/видео.html
I was thinking you must be fitter than you were last time lol, the point where you started working is where I break out the 7lb hand hammer..... I really like your way of doing handles, may I borrow it?

Great idea and now I know how to hold 3 short chisels made from a 12” piece of 4140. Thanks for sharing the build process.
Thank you, I hope it helps.

Awesome. Hopefully you get great use out of them for many years to come my friend. Forge On. Keep forge lit. Keep making. God bless.
Thank you!
@@strangeblacksmith you're welcome
Very cool, I like this idea a lot!
😂 "it's like her first time"
Just spit on it bro.
That s7 looks tough af
If your tool doesn't fit, you obviously haven't gotten her hot enough yet.
I definitely don't advise trying to pound it in cold.
@@strangeblacksmith can't expect your tang to just sliiiiiide on in unless you broach her hole out some.
they look great
Thank you!
Sick hammer

It's quicker and easier to ask for forgiveness than for permission 😉
@@DogsaladSalad that is often true but I have some videos in the planning so I'll mention the channel if I use the holder
@@TalRohan absolutely! I'm here to share! I'd love to hear how it works out for you.
I never saw a blacksmith use a saw filers hammer before. Looks awkward. It's made to fall by its own weight, and will likely damage your arm.
Thank you!
