I watch this and I can’t help but think…even though Tom Jones obviously made it very big, whenever I hear that voice, I can’t help but think that he was actually underrated. Who has a voice like this? He had such an unbelievably strong voice…and still does! I’ve never heard any other voice compare to it. Lol… and I remember the so-called voice experts back in the 60s saying that he’s going to absolutely ruin his voice if he continues to sing like that! Meanwhile, he’s 83 and still singing that way. 😂
@@Erdnase23 Yes. I love that performance too, pretty groovy stuff-with Tom. CSNY are a top band for me, have loved them since 1st hearing way back when. Glad I caught a show about 20 yrs ago, w/o Young though (darn it). Some ladies in the front row-center were talking loudly amongst themselves. David Crosby stopped the performance to berate them and say to please leave if you can’t shut up as others want to enjoy the show. Haha, bless him!
@@timetowakeup6302Then lots of people were doing it. I've seen the Jackson 5 do it, Eddie Kendricks, and lots of other people. It's just a funky, groovy kind of dance.
Nice, funky groove on that one! Mr. Jones almost did the splits, but he might have ripped them if he went all the way down.😂 I noticed the pants on the band leader--a popular pattern back then. 😄
Tom Jones was the Uk's version of Elvis in a way. Each were phenomenal artists. I do think that Elvis would definitely lose a dance off with Tom Jones.
Thanks for the backstory, very interesting and informative, I love Tom and Little Richard aka the “Architect of Rock and Roll”, his influence on musicians is so widespread.
Welsh tiger was on fire again, superb performance!
Another song I’ve discovered thanks to The Midnight Special! 😃🎶♥️
Half expected a plane to land on that stage. Killer guitar solo.

Watch the clip of CSNY playing with Tom singing lead and see their reaction. The best of the best knew how good Tom was.

Overrated {Underrated} comment strikes again … 😛
yep, he was and is a great singer, i think he could have easily fronted many a rock band as well as all the pop and soul he did.

Awesome as always! Tom Jones the best entertainer and fabulous singer!
Tom Jones’ bell-bottoms were so wide he didn’t need a parachute when sky-diving.
Absolutely spectacular!! The Best!!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Got my panties, ready to throw at the stage!! 🎉🎉🎉
🤣 😂
You'll have to throw them pretty far---aaalll the way back to 1973!😂🤣
@@StephanieJeanne Hahaha!! I’m digging in my dresser drawers right now, hope they still fit?! Weeee!!
Tom had a rather unique dancing style.
I don't know. A few people, including myself, used to dance that way in the early '70s. 😊
He’s a fricken sexy-hip-shaker!! Whew!! 😅
When I was little we called this the “pee pee dance”

How proud Greenwood, Mississippi must be.
I don't think many of us have even heard of this song!
I'm sure the fine people of Greenwood, Mississippi are familiar with this.
First time I have heard it.

Written by Travis Wammack. Little Richard was the first to recorded it. It was released on his album "The Rill Thing" in 1970.

A really funky performance from Tom! Awesome!
Tom Jones is so hot that when he was young and made pizzas he didn’t need an oven.
The crowd just sitting there like greatness ain’t happening before their fucking eyes !!!!!

Los hacen en orden (perdon, mi Español, no es may bueno). Actualmente, estamos en 1973.
Your Spanish seems fine to me. It makes sense according to the translator.
@@gregoryduncan3067 😹 Thanks, Greg, but I fear I made an error. On second glance, it looks like Italian or Portuguese they are speaking (?) Not sure.
It's all French to me.
