Nice tractor. New guy here to this channel. The old tractors last and last. Now a days I've seen people not as happy with john deere but I truly believe it's because they are not thinking ok what am I truly gonna use this tractor for. When they go and buy one they spend the least amount and realize I need more tractor.
I missed out on a John Deere 430 awhile back and Im still pouting about it lol. I have been a Sears garden tractor guy for 15 years but recently decided my sears 10XL wasn't big enough for the work I want to do so I have been looking into getting a John Deere similar to this one. I love the four way blade. Very cool to see you using the tiller for weight. Definitely helps out with traction. Nice video!
These were great tractors. Miss my 317 that I had for 40 yrs bought new in 1982. Opted to get one that I could swap implements easier swapping from mower work to snow duty instead of my walk behind snowblower. Would have been handy for some applications where the 317 size was handier. But the tradeoff was an extra machine to maintain and indoor storage. But in retrospect its annual maintenance was very simple; some parts were getting to be an adventure to find. Like your videos that I discovered today. Subscribed. Cheers from Ontario
Nice setup! Tip for plowing I noticed on mine, don’t go so aggressive on your tilt angle, the weight of the snow it will push your front end over and you will zig-zag your run.
I’m looking to get one of these machines wether it be a 300 series 400 series what ever I could find. What would you recommend I’m used to my craftsman garden tractors and don’t get me wrong I have that machine it’s done everything I need and more but I’m looking. To upgrade and wasn’t sure what a reasonable price would be on a 318 would $2000 be responsible for one with a blade? But no deck?

Nice JD 400, sounds like you've got a project that you really are having fun with and like using it.

I have a 400 with a 60" mower deck absolutely love it❤
I was going to ask if I was seeing excessive steering slop, but you covered it. Good voice over on the video!
Great videos. New subscriber here!
Nice. I may be getting a 400 that’s been sitting since circa 2019.

You should add two tires on your tractor 🚜 lawn mower
does yours have a posi resend?
Rear end
A 400 will not. 420s and 430s have the diff lock.
