Lost in Space had some amazing guest stars during it's 3 year run: Michael Rennie Michael Ansara Mercedes McCambridge Michael J. This series was so colorful and so much fun. As a child I enjoyed it so much. I felt like I knew the whole crew. I was much younger than her, but I had the most terrible crush on Penny. The show was a circus of excitement and adventure, and all the contributors to it should really be proud; proud for giving us kids as much fun in front of our televisions as any Disneyland on our best day.
In my youth this series was an afternoon rerun favorite in the 1970's (along with Gilligan's Island and Batman), so nostalgia plays a key role in the enjoyment for me. I still watch it today, in my fifties, on Hulu from time to time. Part of the charm is the silliness of the writing: the science and tech is always ridiculous or wrong, sometimes Maureen has milk and cookies ready for the two young ones (the ship's larder/pantry must have been enormous-- with milk, eggs, bacon, and also those ham sandwiches Dr. Smith gobbled), and a lot of planets and systems and characters had Greek alphabet letter names. I'd be hard pressed to pick a favorite episode but there are a few that remain special. The comedy in "Two Weeks in Space" is super, as Smith turns the ship into a resort hotel for aliens while most of the family are temporarily away; forcing Will and the Robot to basically be bellhops, that's a hoot. And the one with Wally Cox, "Forbidden World", is a delight simply for the actor's presence. "The Promised Planet" is so crazy that it's wonderful ... all the 60's slang and dancing (why deceitful aliens would use slang and clothes from _three decades_ before the Robinsons headed for space is a mystery, but you just laugh and enjoy it). Seasons 2 and 3 are comedy shows in my view. They still crack me up. Dr. Smith's piercing scream is hilarious. Jonathan Harris made the show his own. I liked season 1 but I rarely re-visit it because I prefer the episodes that elicit laughs. Can't help it. Guilty pleasures are fun!
Cave of the Wizards was a favorite of Jonathan Harris because it gave him a chance to act very differently than usual. It was one of my favorites because it showed a more sympathetic and tender side in Dr.Smith.
Everytime the Jupiter 2 crash landed it was always the direct result of Dr. Smith misfiring the retro rockets and not knowing what buttons he pushed. Is he related to Gilligan?
SIgh I love the first season but even at 12 I thought most of the episodes in 2 and 3 were just too too what silly? childish? Oh well they look good! Thanks for posting!
It is called the charm of LOST IN SPACE. Sure, the B&W Season One was vastly superior in every way, but colored Season Two and colored Season Three are very fun and enjoyable as well.. :-]
Wonderful colors and too much fun. Love it
Went Batman to camp it up

I was only two years younger, but I sure liked Penny too. Her best Year 2 episode was The Golden Man.
Agreed. Such a great show, and its sad to see what 'television' has become.
Love the new added special effects.

Dee Hartford/Verda was the bomb!
And Athena (Vitina Marcus) was not half bad either, an attractive lady with a good figure. But you have to enjoy the color green to like her, lol
