- Still going through my tapes of movies recorded from Sacramento TV- this is the end of a TV40 NewsPlus Update with Andy Asher telling us that Coke just announced today that they've acknowledged the backlash against "New Coke" and will be bringing back the old one.
Afterwards is a commercial for Raley's supermarkets where you can get a free 6-pack of New Coke if you get your film developed there. Also featured here is another failure from the 80s, the Kodak Disc! Don't know who this guy is but he did most of the commercials for Raley's for a long time.

The only Coke I drank that summer was Cherry Coke since 1985 was the year it debuted.
I also still have a bunch of my old Disc negatives. Sadly, hardly anyone develops them anymore. Even most stores that deal specifically in photography only develop 35mm film now. No Disc or 110mm film.
And not only that, Gary Gerould also owns his own production company and also does NHRA trackside stand up's for ESPN2.

They were giving away the free 6-packs because they weren't selling lol. It was New Coke and they were sitting there gathering dust, so they wanted to get rid of them someway!
I don't know about the getting sick part, but I definitely agree. I hated the Coca Cola Classic from the get-go. I just does not taste the same. The last time I had real coke was in Mexico over twenty years ago. I heard they still make it with cane sugar in Mexico, but our government is pressuring their government to allow them to go using cheapo high fructose corn syrup.
eyeh8cbs, do you have any old clips for Safeway Supermarkets form the early 90's?
I use to live in Sacto, and we moved to So Cal 1n 1992. She is 17 now and when she was a baby for some reason she was mesmerized by the Safeway Commercial Their slogan was "Safeway the best of everything"!!

In the first place, why is a taste a flawed method? On top of this, if people preferred the New Coke over the original formula, why was it a disaster?
Looks more like $5 worth of yellow aluminum foil than $50000 worth of gold coins.

My original intent was to ask you if you knew if they still make Kodak Discs. But then I read the description given by the uploader and got my answer! Being that they do not make them anymore, are you still able to get film for yours.
I totally remember this, you were a total LOOSER if you watched channel 40's news. The cool news was KOVR 13 (ABC) with Alan Frieo and Susan Blake.
Yay classic is Back! I didn't like New Coke. Tasted flat.
