@lesmondk3376 Good on you for putting your head down and contributing to NZ's economy and future. And good on you seeing through TPM's divisiveness. It's high time the message is louder and clearer than TPM doesn't represent the majority of the people they claim to represent. And as far as people in need goes - address their individual needs and not according to their race.
About Waititi's "Maori economy," type it in and search. MFAT has a whole document on it. I think it's $70 Billion out of the whole NZ economy, which is only about $250 Billion. So more like 28%. 50% of fishing quotas. 40% of beef and lamb, etc. TPM's seperatism idea's going to bite them in the bum.

Speaking of transport. The roads are terrible and repairs are also poor...yet the some company gets hired for the next one. We need more competition in road repairs so the ones doing bad jobs don't get the next one. Our size may make it difficult but there needs to be a solution. Just two sideline questions, but related to our standard of living now and long term.
    1) Why is the overall Maori support nationally a "drag" on our economy? When the Maori economy is 70 to 80 billion. They own profitable businesses and enterprises all over the country
    And
    2) Are Maori as a ethnicity unique in New Zealand. Are they special that they can have so much support by just being Maori? One can identify as Maori with very little DNA? and therefore obtain "special" benefits over others.
Our economy is in trouble. Shouldn't Maori pay their way as well. Pay Business tax for instance and not be treated as charities for taxation purposes.

You can't tax your way into prosperity, nor can you tax your way out of a housing shortage. You need to actually produce stuff to sell. Making life harder for landlords, particularly ma-and-pa landlords with just a few rentals, maybe investments for their children, isn't going to make life cheaper for renters or FHB. If anybody benefits, its the large investors with hundreds or thousands of properties who can afford the lack of interest deductions. They are the only ones able to buy inflated prices in a housing shortage, and they pass that back onto the renter in the way of rent. So then the extra tax is given out as accommodation supplements...how about we cut out the middleman and not tax it at all? Such a policy can't defeat supply and demand, but I wouldn't expect Labour, Greens or TPM to understand that concept.
