the audience could have at least barked
Last week I was playing this concert once more and a dog outside the theater barked during this song (and only in this one), almost in the part the dogs bark in the original one. I'll check the recording later, maybe I'll post it here or in my Fb page! ;)

Very awesome job on a difficult to play song. The audience doesn't seem to recognize it or they are a bunch of sticks in the mud.

Really, you're going to blame every audience member rather than the artist? It's the artist's job to capture the audience. While this is impressive, there was zero dynamic contrast in the performance, so I can see why the audience were not engaged.

It's been 7 years since you wrote this comment, and we both are older, wiser men now, so we can appreciate the fact that the performance is totally captivating and one can imagine each person in the audience totally enchanted and mentally singing along while Bruno performs his magic on the keyboards. From a personal experience, when I hear him play Floyd, I really feel it to be a form of meditation and very therapeutic indeed. 🙂
I would love to know how to play this on piano
i try to learn it by ear because I hate to read sheets. I actually learned Pigs (Three different ones) this way.

@@Dhdhdyqha it's true I learned it, it just doesn't sound 100% like the studio version, because of course the cool guitar parts aren't there, but I can play the chords and the melodies...

@@Dhdhdyqha You know, I don't know why I'm able to do this, but it just happens naturally to me - sometimes I need some help but mostly I just have to listen and try to play along one song I like to cover often enough and then I'll work out how to play that song.
However I have a, say, unusual way of playing piano. I'm not an advanced player, I just can play piano quite good. So I could never play the song like Dogs is played right here in this video.
I believe the reason I'm able to do this is because I'm really bad at playing music by notes. I can read sheet music, but it's hard and I never enjoyed it. I would be better with it if I had to rely on it, but in my piano lessons I rather learned the song remembering the parts in my head than reading the sheets so I wasn't ever really forced to learn to read sheet music. It would take like maybe half a year for such a song to learn entirely by sheet music, and I would need a professional piano teacher next to me.
So it has advantages and disadvantages...I guess I would be much better at playing piano if I'd stuck to just reading, because playing by ear made me develop this unusual style.
But yeah the advantage of it is that I can play the music I like listening to and also I learned it's much cooler if you can play songs for your friends that they like than tryint to impress them by a classical piece you learned for a year. It's just cooler if you can play what they listened on a party a few minutes ago...
It also depends on the piece of music. I rate "pigs" as a semi-hard song. But I struggled and gave up on songs like "Firth Of Fifth". I'd rather do something like "Black Dog" or "Never Going Back Again"...

Waters would walk up to you after the performance, nitpick the lighting director and a couple of minor keys he didn't like. He would then stalk off mumbling "that was bloody excellent". Somewhere Nick Wright would be saying "now you know how I felt".:-)
