Absolutely! 3 of my favorites... I love that she's obviously a big fan of _Down By Law,_ Jarmusch's classic! Hands down, his best work... Tom Waits, John Lurie & Roberto Benigni?!? Heaven!
Taste in movies from picking up movies just from their covers? She picked Ikiru and Dazed&Confused without having seen them. In any case, she has a amazing taste based on her other picks and I am a big fan of hers.
The image of popping on Blue Velvet to unwind at the end of a long day is funny and I love Blue Velvet. To each their own. There was a time where I was rewatching The Color of Money every other night. I'm sure that sounds strange given its nobodies go to movie not to mention its like Scorsese's 15th best film. You really don't choose what films fulfill that "comfort movie" space as much as they choose you.
Loved her in her recent performances: Bergman Island and Corsage! Can def see corsage joining the collection in a year or so, that one’s a special one. Love how she connected La Piscine to her performance in Corsage
Because Roma, Marriage Story, The Irishman, Uncut Gems, Beasts of No Nation, and Okja. HBO Max is dying. You don't wanna burn any bridges if you like money.
Down by Law, La Strada, Dazed and Confused, Blue Velvet are all great films (I could not make out one of the films she mentioned). My favorite Kurosawa film is Ikiru. I have yet to see Female Trouble.
She's going to LOVE _Ikiru!_ 🥰💙❤💙❤ One of the all-time greats... as is _La Strada_ and _Down By Law._ A great film I only just saw recently is _La Piscine..._ I love that she loves Romy Schneider - one of my absolute favorite actresses, who doesn't get talked about enough! Krieps was so amazing in _Phantom Thread._ I can't wait to see _Bergman Island!_ Hadn't heard of _Corsage,_ I'll have to look into it. Love this series, CC - keep them coming!
Just watched Hold Me Tight for the second time last night. The Kino Lorber version is fine. I don't think it necessarily needs the Criterion treatment, but it's deserving of it. Maybe a Mathieu Amalric Eclipse set.
The list: Down by law The female trouble Ikiru Dazed and confused Blue Velvet La Piscine La Strada Can anyone tell me what was the name of the movie she said after blue velvet?
Nothing brings me more joy than seeing people go to the criterion closet and acting like a kid in the candy store. Also, I love how she hates Netflix and prefers physical media than streaming services. Excellent picks! 🎥👌
@@hewar She did say that. They edited it out the video. You can cut uploaded videos on RUclips. You can literally notice the cut after 0:58. She verbatim said that she hates streaming and Netflix.
I think this is the first time I've seen someone mention any Dumont films in one of these. A little worrying that she's excited to show La vie de Jésus to her children but great pick nonetheless.
Romy got to misbehave for Zulawski in That Most Important Thing:Love (L’important c’est d’aimer) alongside Fabio Testi, batshit Klaus Kinski, Jacques Dutronc. I hope Criterion gets it one day.
She says she picked John Waters' "Female Trouble" because she's never seen it - I hope she has some idea of what she's in for lol - I can just envision someone going into that film totally cold 🙂
I wish some people doing these would spend more time talking about the movie they pick or why they're picking it. When they just grab it and move on it's kinda pointless. Maybe the premise of Closet Picks is not explained to them properly.
I wish this one was 10x longer. Loved hearing her talk about these films!
She has an amazing taste in movies like Dazed and Confused, La Strada and Ikiru. Best part of this is her energetic and unique personality.
Absolutely!

@@Jimmy1982Playlists you have not seen Dead Man
Fact that she has such an attachment to La Piscine makes me love her even more
wait is she really taking the dvds and not the blurays?
She is so so good in Phantom Thread. Love her!
I love that Kyle put back the Blue Velvet since he already owned it on a previous episode. Now Vicky picks it up, love that movie and Ikiru :)
Blue Velvet is a "good evening" film? LOL
@@ihatekillerclowns Blue Velvet is good anytime of the day :)

I can actually see her being in a Lynch film
@@Chrisratata That would be epic!
Bravo to Criterion for conceiving of Closet Picks. Fascinating concept that never fails to enlighten.
Having artists pick out art they like isn't exactly a novel concept
just got a wave of serotonin when i saw this in my feed
Same here... she's divine!
Refreshing to see someone pick some films they want to see but haven't yet seen!

Loved her in Phantom Thread!
She held her own against the great Daniel Day Lewis. Cant wait to see what she can do in future roles.
Where was her Oscar nomination? She was such a wonderful still energy in contrast to his.
She has made other movies since phantom thread you know
She was better than Lewis - in effect, she made his part believable.
You guys are on quite the run of great guests in that closet!
Great choices! Nice to see the "Blue Velvet" arc complete satisfyingly. I hope Kyle and Vicky are happy with their choices.

HEY OHHHHHHHHH!
What a luminous delight this woman is! I only wish it was longer!
Easy on the eyes and could listen to her talk about anything. Looking forward to seeing some of her work.
@anthonythisiseye6262
And what if she were hard on them?
Nothing to praise or insult.
Ikiru, great pick! That's my favorite.
"I need every film...every one of these films"
Every Criterion closet viewer: *yes*
boy, I could listen to Vicky forever.
She also got "Down by Law" --not mentioned at the end
This is a sheer talent. Love her pick of La Strada
Love her in everything I've seen her in and cannot wait for Corsage.
She is *SO HOT* . And I love her films.
"Corsage" is wonderful. She is brilliant in it.
Vicky is the kid in the candystore who wants to try EVERYTHING
She won't regret taking Ikiru. I wish I could see it for the first time again.
I wish I could see Lawrence of Arabia for the first time again.
Love her! Need to see Bergman Island and Corsage.
Your channel is such an education! Thanks for inviting such knowledgeable film fanatics to the closet.
I loved Bergman Island. Such a fun movie. Like going on a holiday.
Why did you guys edit the part where she said “I hate Netflix”? It was hilarious xD
Is that why they took the video down momentarily?!? 🤣
Because they have a deal with Netflix and they don't want to jeopardize it.

Such a fascinating woman...I am looking forward to viewing the film she did with Gaspard Ulliel, his very last film. 🥺
Down by Law, La Strada, Dazed and Confused, Blue Velvet are all great films (I could not make out one of the films she mentioned). My favorite Kurosawa film is Ikiru. I have yet to see Female Trouble.
Then you better see La Piscine as well. It was the one she talked most fondly about and even has a 4k transfer unlike these others.
Man would I love to see VK in a Lynch project with Laura Dern.
What an enchanting lady!!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😊

Short but sweet. Great pickups 😎
This is the best video of my life
Remembering romy schenider ❤
why would you cut out her saying she hates Netflix because she prefers DVDs???
Great selections!
Thanks for giving me the krieps
Her first choice was Down By Law. Awesome! Generally, Vicki has fine tastes.
I love her accent.
They're not DVDs
I love seeing people pick films they haven't seen rather than safe bets.
She is the very definition of elegance😅
I hope she knows the difference between DVD and Blu-ray because she took the Blu-ray.
What percentage of the guests look at the top shelf? let’s investigate
Thanx for showing a Films Selected List at the end now (took you long enough chrisakes) 😅
Just like the Cassavetes movie title says, "She's So Lovely."
Showing 'La Vie de Jésus' for your children, now that's some great differentiated motherhood right there.
Phantom Thread FTW.
She's Luxembourg's greatest export, terrific in Phantom Thread
I just read about her in the British vogue, never heard of her before, so i had to look her up.
Love her.

No Bergman films, which is a surprise from her...
I'd like to know why they dropped the word actress.
