The way they get the money criminally shows that it is not a crime if the government approves it
Yeah, just ask the USA🤔
Very true. What is legal and illegal in a country always depends on what that country *decides* is legal or illegal. And since other countries have no sovereignty over another sovereign state, there is really nothing they can do about that. Even claiming they have sovereignty over another state is not done, because then every state could claim the same thing of another, inviting war without end. And that the sanctions don't work is pretty clear too.
The base argument for the sanctions is already strange: N-K is being sanctioned because it has nukes, by the US...whom has nukes... errmm. So... basically they can have nukes, but no others may have them? Why isn't the US sanctioned and thrown out of SWIFT? Where are the UN sanctions there? How comes China, Russia, India, Israel, the UK, France, Pakistan, etc. aren't sanctioned until they're nuclear free? They ALL have nukes. There is no doubt about that. So why aren't they under a truckload of sanctions until they denuclearize? How comes the US arbitrarily decides whom does and doesn't may have nukes? Do they have a mandate from heaven? Or is it rather because they're the only ones that can flex both economically and military to get their way?
They then demonstrate that other countries don't need nukes because they... invade countries that have no nukes, while they don't invade countries that do have them. Hmm... Interesting strategy...
I know we don't want to see this truth, and act as if it's all the paranoia of a crazy leader, but from his stance, Kim is absolutely right: as has been proven over and over these last 3 decades, the West doesn't hesitate to invade any country it deems it needs to, if they don't have nukes. As said, one has only to look at Iraq (twice), Libya, Sudan, Yemen, Panama, Somalia, Haiti, Liberia, Yugoslavia, East-Timor, Sudan, Syria, Afghanistan, etc., etc. All done - and many more - by the US, these last 3 decades alone. In fact, the US interfered, attacked or invaded more foreign sovereign states than any other country in the world. That's a fact, but no self-reflection is done about this. Also: they didn't invade Russia as they did with Iraq - even with the Ukraine war. Why? Because Russia has nukes. Think about it: the US and many in the West attacked Iraq on the false pretext of it having "weapons of mass destruction", but the irony is, if Iraq HAD had nukes, the US would never have invaded in the first place! Just think about it for a second. If Iraq really would have had, say, 100-200 nuclear warheads on ICBM's, and were willing to use them when being invaded - it's extremely unlikely the US would have risked an invasion.
Facts: nukes are the great equalizers of any war and the ultimate deterrent, and we won't risk invading any such country even when we otherwise might. We should have the honesty of acknowledging that. If N-K had oil, no nukes, and no backing of China, we might already have invaded them by now. That's the hard truth of geopolitics, and it's time "realpolitik" sinks in again, because our politicians seem to wallow in delusions. They sanction a country so it can not survive by any normal means, and then act all morally outraged when that country goes into criminal activity due to the sanctions they imposed on it... C'mon. Such hypocrisy.
And let's see here... they've been sanctioning N-K since 1958, even long before the nukes. So what has more than seven decades of sanctions really done? Nothing to impede the nuclear development, and nothing to prohibit the elite from living in luxury. The only thing it managed, is to make it even more hard for the average citizen in N-K to survive. It should be clear to any sane person these sanctions do not work, and another, more diplomatic way should be followed. Yes, N-K will never abandon his nukes, just like the US will never abandon them. But one might mutually reduce them, and set some safeguards up (non-proliferation) in equal measure and in reciprocity. That would be more fruitful than going on for another century of sanctions.
@@AniMageNeBy Great answer. You have to realize that relations with countries also matter. If the US just nuked anybody who went against them they'd probably receive alot of backlash from other countries...but then again we're witnessing what's happening with Ukraine and I'm sure there would be shame but I'm also not too sure about what would actually happen to the world's strongest military if they chose to extinguish a country...
Yeah I think when you view international relations between countries your realize how every country is sort of just in it for themselves and it's all just a power game with political posturing to appeal to their citizens and the countries they want to appeal to.
@@AniMageNeBy US imperialism is shit but the US dosen't threaten to nuke other countries on a borderline yearly basis
@@howdyimhowdy3751 But they ARE the only ones to have actually USED nukes on another country, though.

Did you know that Britain has relatively good relations with North Korea? Both countries have embassies in each others countries, and North Korea can provide English speaking doctors and lawyers for British citizens, plus the only western film to ever be allowed to be broadcast in North Korea was the British film "Bend it like Beckham"
You have said your propaganda, But you forgot one thing that North corea is not a colonial and looter like European countries . The western countries criminalize the whole world and loot but you didn't say anything about them . Now that we are waiting for your posting about the illness and how dangerous are European countries on this Earth
@@omarsulaimanbello1378 I believe you are mixing up fact with propaganda, first of all, Western countries do not limit their habitants to share their ideas, read and view whatever they want, also our governments are replaced every 5 years or more deepening on elections. South Africa 🇿🇦 also has a North Korea embassy in Pretoria
There are two economies in North Korea. The first one is the official economy governed by the state. The second economy is called the Royal Court economy. This economy is directly controlled by Kim jong-un, and ran out of office 39. North Korea unofficially trades directly from China via rail and trucks. They also trade with Russia as well unofficially.
And the source is?
@@helicoidsniffer1303 multiple defectors. People that have worked for building 39 and have an interviewed by the South Koreans. Multiple sources independent of the defectors that have been in North Korea. You're going to have to do your own research. Not that hard to find
@@theoutdoorguy8740 That is merely hearsay. It is quite meaningless and should be taken with a big pinch of salt.
@@Sam-lj9vj not when it's corroborated by multiple multiple multiple sources all defectors, none of which who knew each other. I would agree with you if it was one source. But it is not.
@@theoutdoorguy8740 Well that is the main problem. It's always "defectors" of which their history can't really be checked. Of course that is an obvious thing, because administration in the DPRK is sketchy. When you take in account in whose interest it is to destroy the DPRK then yes, I by default have my doubts. When the US or their allies say A, one must always ask "why".
As a Bangladeshi, I'm just surprised we had $101 million in forex reserves in the first place.
That's so small
I hear ya, wait a minute where's that money being used for the population???🤔😳
Rip
Bhai, is that you who I'm guessing?
Your neighboring country India just found or revealed that a similarly massive amount is missing from their own reserves or some govt bank. Who knows what stupid "luxury" items it was wasted on.
Not a complete surprise, but absolutely fascinating.
Korean War is still lasting. It didn’t end in 1953 but it was negotiated to stop temporarily.
North Koreans deserve to be free. But no one wants war
As long as they continue their criminal activities, someone or some people in the west are benefiting. Don't be deceived .
Same reason we let China turn the Dissidents and Uyghur Muslims into their endless supply of Organ banks. China has economic leverage allowing Western Secular states to turn a Blind eye. Same thing they do to Muslim countries in the Middle East. They have Economic relations to keep everyone Quiet.
Well...as long as we sanction them so that they can't have alternative income through normal trade and the like, it's a given they will continue criminal activity to get money.
I'm not sure where the surprise and the moral outrage comes from. I mean, if you prohibit any people from trading or buying or selling, and deem it illegal when they do, you're bound to see they're going to be engaging in "illegal activity". If you make it illegal today to breathe, we all will be criminals by tomorrow. How does that strike anyone as odd?
In fact, the US tried doing something like this with the Prohibition. Result: millions of citizens became engaged in "illegal activity". In the end, they had to revert the whole prohibition thing back, of course, but there is no doubt all those "criminals" were a direct result of the prohibition-laws *making* it illegal.
People like Alejandro Cao de Benós
China numba one!
Joe and Hunter Biden are examples.
When I worked in Cambodia, the North Koreans would come through the Phenom Penh airport with boxes of freshly minted USD and exchange them for genuine notes at 80% of its face value; thereby cleaning their fake notes for old real notes. They are very good fakes and most people can not tell the difference
What year was that?
That's what Sanctions will do to any nation
a very well put together mini documentary.
00:00 North Korea's economy relies on a vast global criminal empire.
01:11 The creation of Room 39 and the expansion into illegal activities.
03:49 Counterfeit currency, hacking, and cyber attacks contribute to North Korea's economy.
06:14 Illegal activities fund at least 25-50% of North Korea's budget.
07:01 Challenges in stopping North Korea's illicit activities due to diplomatic immunity and territorial control.
You're talking more about the West
Instead of North Korea it would be better if you explained to the public what the hell is the basis of the economy of the largest imperialist country?Printing parasitic dollars without cover, threats, prsssure, propaganda, lies, numerous endless wars and terrible war crimes all over the world.8oo threatening military bases around the world.Massive sales of weapons sometimes to both sides, overthrowing legaly elected authorities, putting their servants and stooges in power, liquidating polulist leaders, sucking the blood of oppressed people etc.etc.Along with that largest"democratic"rich imperialist country(full of hungry, ragged homeless people everywhere, where an ordinary citizen hay to sleep with a gun under his pillow,or be happy if he got out from the subway alive or not robbed,etc.etc..)there are also a few faded neo-colonial NATOs.puppets of obedient servants of the Washington bosses who pick up the remining crumbs behind their bosses, all so that they to can collect part of the spoils and convince their voters that "friendship" with America is of great benefit to them.
So roughly it is the base of the Western economies,in fact the robbery of the rest of the world.
NORTH KOREA IS NOTHING OF ALL THAT,and that is why the US and their puppets impose sanction in order to cause as much hunger, disease, poverty, rebellion, etc.
Really those people from the west are wonderfull including you.

well, i guess it worth mentioning the other way they make money is just asking russia and china for 'unreturnable' debts. and when it comes to agriculture, they quite often rely on international aid, so no wonder criminal activity is a crucial cut in their s.c. income
That's their fault crooked waste of land and skin loosers
Except both China and Russia are currently in their own financial shitholes. It's to be expected that North Korea will come up with new criminal ideas.
Amerimutt cope 😂😂😂
I think Myanmar is another example of this kind of economy
😭
Why do other countries have to allow those diplomats to come? What might be the official reason of the visit? and why calls or emails aren't enough?
I agree. Just kick the North Korean diplomats out and never let them back in. While it won't completely stem the tide, it should hurt them to some degree.
NK offers cheap Labor.
@@IrrevMike N-K is a recognized country by many other countries. That means, for those countries, the regular diplomatic rules apply as well. If one country would throw that principle away, every other country can throw it away for any other country, and soon the whole diplomatic system breaks down. Diplomatic immunity is there for the sake of ALL countries; it's not perfect, but it's the lesser evil, if you want to maintain any level of diplomacy between countries.
Relations with North Korea are profitable. Their elite are one of the major importers of American made goods. Also the potential to de-escalate conflicts might be vital. If you have 0 diplomats, then when they invade and kidnap oil tankers your country owns, you actually have no way to ask or negotiate for it back. Who do you contact? random clerks? do they have numbers you can find? etc.

North Korea is pretty much the Lex Luthor of planet Earth.
Cancelling diplomatic relations with North Korea altogether is a way to curtail their illegal smuggling activities. Not just revoking diplomatic immunity for current officials, but all North Koreans in perpetuity. If there was a real will to end the regime, measures could be taken.
The regime is powerful enough to be ignored. ISIS is one example of a country that no one took seriously and eliminated. The last time North Korea invaded or attempted to strike targets in other countries was virtually never. During international terror incidents North Korea sided with the west. Like when Japanese terrorists hijacked a plane and sent it to NK. NK locked the terrorists up, and sent the former hostages back to Japan.
@@genericscout5408 Did you not just watch a video about how North Korea is flooding the world with drugs?
