My wife’s uncle helps out at one store and I asked him once what the markup was and he smirked. It’s a huge number. Those fireworks are made for 10-25 cents a piece. There are several 100 percent markups before getting to the shelves. His unit cost for that 300 dollar set is probably 20-30 bucks. That set should be 60-70

I've seen good shell kits on wholesale sites for a little over $100 each. If you do the buy 1 get 2 deal from phantom then the price is close to the same as the wholesale store. This pricing structure applies to just about anything on phantoms shelves. If you don't become a premier member then everything will be overpriced by 3 times the value. One main difference is at a wholesale store you have to buy a case of the item and at phantom you can mix and match single items. So $300 at a wholesale store gets you 3 of the same item, but at phantom that same $300 could get you 3 different $100 items. If spending the amount needed to get b1g2 is out of your spending limit then pool your money with a couple other buyers and get a lot more bang for your money.
They dropped their prices recently. Canister kits down to $260. If you spend an absurd amount you can get them for b1g2, right around $85 a pop. Still absurd but better.
This is why knowledge of product is needed or you will get scammed! Platinum Excalibur and Grand Jury should not be more than $125 for 24 shells at non wholesale price.

What you want to do is……. Buy a gift card early in May-June when they advertise them and you get Buy 1 get 2 Free coupon with it. So you’re paying $100 for the box of mortars anyways just like you would at a stand or anywhere else. Yes, the markup is awful for people who don’t know to do that. So spread the word.
Also, I noticed a lot of their prices have gone down on the big finale cakes. I was in a phantom 2 days ago. They were 349.99 last year. This year they are 259.99. Same size and same amount of powder in them. So I’m guessing they do know people can’t afford fireworks as much this year. Who knows

Phantom fireworks is trying to open locations everywhere so when anyone wants fireworks they are your option it's like a money hungry high scale operation to people who don't know better and people who don't have a firework shop for miles away. We need more local firework shops hopefully more people open them so phantom understands otherwise they will keep doing what they do.. OPEN MORE LOCAL FIREWORK SHOPS BEFORE THE CONTAGIOUS RICH FIREWORKS SPREADS AROUND CITYS AND MAKES IT HARD TO BUY.
