I've been all over that country, having grown up in Montrose, just 60 miles to the south. Never been that far up Rough Canyon, though I've been to the Mica Mine many times. It's great to see some of my old stomping grounds! Thanks!
Oooh that lemon 🍋 squeeze is snug and technical, say nothing of the knife edge and tiny handhold overlooking a height of extreme sheerness! Yikes, you took our breath away!
That looked amazing. I think for myself just going to the knife edge would be a great time. Going to the mountains with my son this weekend. Couple of hikes and a class 3 scramble. Good to get out of the city. Take care.
This video is beyond awesome! I genuinely hope that someday I'll have the chance to meet you on the trails. Your videos never fail to inspire me to embark on new adventures and try climbs I never thought I could do. Keep up the incredible work, Karl!
Huge thanks Matthew! I sure appreciate you, and am very pleased you find inspiration in these efforts 👍! Just got back from 3 days of adventuring, think you'll like them. Karl
You know it’s a tight squeeze when you have to take the sunglasses 🕶️ off! I kept thinking about that movie “127 Hours” with you alone in that cave. Thanks for bringing us along… 😊
You knocked this one out of the park Karl, very well done, money shot after money shot. Good job showing the little down climb part after you exit the squeezer, the sketchiest part I think. A grand day out!
@@hotpickles they are the, G force, they are easily my favs, elbow or knee especially for spicy desert biking or Canyoneering. There’s better protection but, like you eluded to, way too annoying to actually use. What is the occasion?
@@KarlDeckerPresents Thanks for the reply! There have been a few times scrambling, usually in some awkward chimney or dihedral, that I've thought "dang, knee pads would be nice for this". I'm also growing more interested in canyoneering and can see their utility there.
You on a different level!🙏 Awesome drone footage. Been to Mica Canyon. Great job!!!!!! 😀👍
What a nice compliment 😊!! Mica Canyon is on the recon list, thanks again 👍👍

Thanks man appreciate your comments 👍👍
This was a "hidden gem" of an adventure if I've ever seen one. Thanks for letting us mortals into your world 👏👏👏
No problem man, you're claustrophobic so it pretty much had to be me Lol 😆! Thanks again 👍

Very accurate description of the adventure...pretty amazing formation when you think about it. Thanks 👍👍, Karl

Yessir! My pleasure 😎😎, the recon test 2 days earlier without the headlamp was quite the experience!
Very unique adventure. Enjoyed it
Appreciate it! It WAS a unique set-up for sure, thanks!
Great one Karl. Almost too scary to even watch.
Hey thanks Ron, a really surreal adventure when all the various challenges are taken into account, that's my take anyway! Appreciate it 👍

Really appreciate that brother! Considering how close this was to the homestead, it was a banger. Very worthy adventure 💪💪!!
Fantastic bro, ciao 🙂🙂
Thanks Petr, you are doing great work with your channel 👍👍!!
Awesome hike Karl, adding it to my list!
Have fun! Thanks 👍
Nice video!! Thanks for sharing
Thank you appreciate it! I heard that a hiker perished near there. Always hurts ...
@@KarlDeckerPresents ya it really sucks!! It could have been any of us.
Key Karl, I'm curious about the knee pads you used in this video. They look pretty unobtrusive. Thanks!
