Have you tried oxidizing the middle twisted wire? How would it look?
I haven't oxidized it. You can try it😁
Do you use just simple jewellery wires or are they specific (like memory wires or something)? Wires that I have seem so soft that they might not keep its form after a while. :(
Half hard wire is better for it.

It's silver plated.
If using silver plate, how would you keep it from tarnishing?
Keep it in a sealed bag. Actually it can't be avoid from tarnishing sooner or later. Silver is a better choice.
