Just ordered my Onyx! Cant get the HK Audio with Onyx so went with the Rockford Fosgate. Planning to use the WRX Tweeters by Kicker to help finish off the upgrade. So excited!
Hey i have a question. How much of screen does your apple carplay take ? I have ordered my touring xt too but no one shows if the apple carplay will be half screen or full screen like 2020s latest update
Great review! I just bought an Outback after driving a 2021 loaner from my dealership. When I turned the car on, a picture of the car would appear in the upper righthand corner...the same happened on one of the models I test drove. On mine, the car doesn’t appear and I really liked it. It also seemed like the top of the jnfortainment screen would match what the weather was like outside...sunny and blue skies in nice weather and darkness and stars when I drove it at night (the loaner). My car doesn’t seem to have that feature and I have tried every setting. Does anyone know what I am talking about? I know it sounds silly, but I really loved that about the other Outbacks that I drove. I have the Limited (package 34). The only additional feature I have added is Starlink. Wonder if that has anything to do with it. ?
I have a touring xt... wanted the features it had . I have a 4x4 truck for off road and reall nasty whinters in PA. I have to run chaines sometimes living in Pike county and working in forestry.
I just watched the reviews on the 2021 Subaru Forester and the 2021 Subaru Outback and still can't decide. I've had two Foresters and wanted something that looked more attractive...like the Outback but not sure I want a vehicle that is 9" longer in length! Concerned about parking it and less gas mileage. I would get the Limited or Touring in either model for all the bells and whistles. Should I get a third Forester or upgrade to the Outback??

I have the 2020 Outback Onyx XT and after the software update, apple carplay will take up most of the screen (below the top car info section and above the button you would click to go to the home menu). Also, if you have iOS 14, apply carplay will be much more integrated with the new software update as the widgets will look bigger and much more proportionate with the screen. If you have iOS 13 or older, it will still take up the screen but the fonts/widgets are in small text.
Very great car, fun to drive, and very safe to drive. The turbo has enough power to keep you in safe spots. I'm not sure about some of the electronic fluff and interconnections with the cell phone and wi-fi. Depends a lot on your needs Are you going to talk much on the phone? Do you need your car started and heated up from the house?
Are you a golfer Gold Pony? I love the color of your shirt in this video. Please review a 2021 Volvo S60 T6 Inscription if available in your area, no pressure. Thanks 🙂.
I love the Outback XT and Legacy XT because it's fast I drove it in Roblox Greenville and it was fun Subaru proved that 260 hp Outback XT and Legacy XT but not the Outback in Roblox Greenville so the Outback XT Onyx Edition and Legacy Touring XT is also on my car shopping list
On the nav depends where you drive, where i am in PA we dont have cell coverage. The cell phone navs dont work. I have familiy thsts tried to find my house with the. So if you drive in rural places off interstates you run in to cell phone dead zones.
@@hokieplaya if your not from the location you dont know where you have no service. Reall fun if your pulling a trailer to turn around on a rural road.
@@Wrang15 Unless I'm missing the point you're making, that is EXACTLY the reason to use offline maps. They are supposed to work when you don't have wireless cell phone service. Most (if not all?) smart phones have GPS receivers built into them that receive timed signals from multiple satellites. These signals can be used to determine your GPS location irrespective of cell phone signal, and then if you have the offline map of your area downloaded, Google can place you in the world. My work often takes me to remote locations in the middle of nowhere. I used to solely rely on paper maps and Garmins - not anymore, since I started using offline maps. However there are two situations in which offline maps won't work well: 1) Basements or low floors of high-rise buildings where satellite reception is weak, 2) Dirt tracks, un-paved trails, un-named roads, etc that may not be in Google maps - Google cant factor in routes involving roads/tracks that it doesn't know about. I'm curious - would recommend you try out offline maps in your area and let us know if it worked any better for you. Cheers.
@@hokieplaya and your going to download whole states befor you start your trip just incase you hit a dead zone? Most people dont plan to download maps areas just incase. I deal with lost torist all the time. The state park near me is a dead zone. They even put in land line phones at parking lots.
@@Wrang15 well, I do. I rather use up a couple hundred MB of storage on my phone than get lost in the wilderness in an unfamiliar area. Also, I usually delete the downloaded maps after my trip if I don’t expect to return to that area anytime soon, so the memory usage is temporary. I have no doubts in my mind that it’s worth it.
You guys are so lucky to have those in North America. Our european carbon taxes would make this engine-trim so expensive to buy here thus we only have more eco-friendly subies here and not even the WRX nor BRZ anymore.
I'm stuck between this and a Hyundai Santa Fe...this video made that choice that much harder, because I really liked the 2021 Santa Fe originally! We'll see if that changes when your 2021 Santa Fe video comes out 😁
I was comparing Santa Fe Highlander 2.2 TD, Sorrento GT 2.2 TD and Outback 2.5 premium ( top model of outback 2021) . Here is Australia, the prices are very different. Subaru top range is about $10k cheaper than the other two, with less of a Hi-tech modern car feeling but more of a comfortable urban rides feeling. But if you like Santa Fe MY21, go test the Kia Sorrento GT. It’s a nice ride, similar build, a few grands cheaper with better manufacturer warranty. The look of the Kia Sorrento GT is just 👌
They are becoming boring like Ford. Lets put more boring shit on a car and charge more with near to no actual changes. Resting on the back of the WRX success, where are the high end models? 3.6 Turbo please.
Man, he nailed it with this video. Just purchased an Outback Limited last night, love it!
Sir you missed one more feature in the Limited versions and upwards. It called Thigh Rest in the driver seat.
Just ordered my Onyx! Cant get the HK Audio with Onyx so went with the Rockford Fosgate. Planning to use the WRX Tweeters by Kicker to help finish off the upgrade. So excited!
Nice! Those dark wheels and grille look sick. Good choice!
Will be picking up my 21 Touring xT in a few minutes...First Outback 16 love it, second 2021...here in pa love it..

Haha thanks!

Torn between an Onyx XT and Touring XT... thoughts?
Do you need some features on the Touring XT but not on the Onyn XT? If yes then get the Touring XT, otherwise, get Onyx XT.
I have a touring xt... wanted the features it had . I have a 4x4 truck for off road and reall nasty whinters in PA. I have to run chaines sometimes living in Pike county and working in forestry.
It would be nice to have more legroom for the driver.
A manual gearbox should also be available, CVT in the mountains is a misunderstanding.
I am living in PA and that's pretty much the only reason I got a 2019 Forester
No clue why they would black it all out and leave the horrid chrome window trim.

Upgrades ?? I would like to see intercooler. Exhaust ext lol
Could I upgrad the sound system on the XT onyx as an optional from factory?
So where are the upgrades from 2020 to 2021? I have all the features your mentioned on my 2020.
Is this the model XT that we can still get a factory connected CD /radio player?
Very thorough reviews..Thank you

Subaru had put a 100k warranty on CVT
Lime green stitching a plus?

Haha used to golf a good bit when I had time! 😁 I'll try for the S60!
thinking of getting one hows the gpm and power?
Can you upgrade to the Harmon Kardon sound system in the Onyx XT?
No, you can only upgrade it to a Rockford Fosgate system.
Great review. Really appreciated
Thanks!
How da hell the crosstrek is almost the same price as this?
i have a premium outback with sunroof and navigation
Not bad .great video .can you do one on the Raptor keep the great videos coming
Definitely will be doing the 2021 Raptor! 😁
@@goldpony awesome thanks brother that new Raptor looks great an so does that new Bronco love watching your videos they are awesome to watch
interesting review, but noticed 2.4L engine was used to illustrate both engine choices (2.5 doesn't have intercooler).

Download offline maps in Google. That will address your issue.

While Subaru sells in Europe I haven't seen any significant numbers of them there while on vacation. It's rather rear to see one on the road there...
Same situation as same cause in Taiwan too, cabon tax issue.
can someone give me the name of the music at the beginning, love it ??
Dean Martin - That's Amore
Hey man...love the videos😇 can you do Ford F-150 with the 2.7 ecoboost pleaseee💙

Both engines he showed were the turbo 2.4. Unless they are putting an intercooler on all engines. lol
Most buyers will not notice the difference...
Datz'amohray! Good song!
Comprehensive review, I liked it, but try some decaf for God's sake! ;-)
Haha I'm addicted to energy drinks! 😁
