@@peteschiernbeck2665 NO, NO, NO......Buddy Guy is alive and well as of this post 12/26/2024. Since you must not recognize him (and it says his name in the credits) he is the guitar player with the bit coat standing behind Junior Wells, with the red Gibson 335 guitar and the white & black Hound's Tooth coat.
I wish you people would stop with the most under rated artists thing . Everyone knows Junior Wells and Buddy Guy for their talent . If they don't then they Know nothing about Blues . Top rated dummy !
During the week Buddy had his own club and Junior played Theresa's club, both on the south side. The house band was Sammy Lawhorn, who played with Muddy for many years, Phil Guy, here on wah-wah, and later, John Primer, and his band. Cotton and others would play. Cover was $1. Lefty Dizz, Dave Myers, and others would play at Buddy's. I miss those club. Only Buddy and John are still with us. Go see them if you can
Junior Wells was really popular when I was a teen and in my early twenties. He left an amazing legacy which I agree with Universal Citizen, is not appreciated today. I saw a live performance when I was 19. Truly mesmerising
Man, I used to see these cats play the Blues clubs in Chicago in the 1980s. Otis Rush. Eddie "The Chief" Clearwater. "Lefty" Diz. "Little Ed" & The Blues Imperials. Albert King. Albert "Ice Man" Collins. Lonnie Mack. Lonnie Brooks.
Everything is awesome about this video...the FUNKY ASS music, the righteously pimp outfits, the gargantuan afro! There should be a full DVD release of this.
Junior was an awesome performer. I saw him first in New Haven in 1968 or '69, and many times thereafter, including one of his final performances in a club in NYC. He's much missed.
His sense of timing was fantastic, right there with James Brown. Love Jr. And Buddy as well I'm a guitar player and was playing some BG, & BB last night 🎉🎉
Absolutely love this version of this song my dad was a Railroader and I've heard many versions of this song Clapton's acoustic version was my favorite but this one is pretty awesome definitely got some funk🤠
Haha....Junior Wells in one of the harp players who was in Chicago when Charlie Musselwhite arrived and I believe he help Charlie learn harp. Junior Wells played harp with Muddy Waters after Little Walter left (as well as James Cotton) and had his first solo album around 1951-1953 called "Blues Hit Big Town", he was I believe 19 years old. .....some of the dates are approx. from my memory, don't feel like looking them all up but his album is great.
I live the Blues and this track....I urge u all to read up on some these great artists and look out for their old videos. Shame some died sad deaths alone at times.
the Elvis version still rocks me...I was young when that first came out. I love Jr.'s version though even with the funk. Made me look for more Phil Guy's stuff on youtube
My cousin Herman Parker aka Little Junior Parker, wrote and recorded mystery train in Memphis tennessee.
This band is absolutely phenomenal! Such a funky, bluesy & rhythmically tight performance.
Besides that they all look cool as hell...truly amazing. ❤
They're all dead now.. but yes :)

*Read the comment section before commenting, the original was recorded by Junior Parker not Elvis Presly.*
