- A deep-dive into the building, flying and filming of my high-performance R/C Funjet Ultra Squadron: The challenges & rewards of flying such rapid machines, costs & performance data, -have your air-sick bags ready!🤢😱😵
I give a tech-talk through my Squadron of R/C high-speed FunJET Ultra planes, some capable of almost 200Mph!
Everything you see in the vid is built, flown and filmed by me!).

When you hear these Jets coming, you must take cover AT ONCE! 😱 (Lol!) 🤣
WOW
One day, these ROV's will be delivering our plane kits to us!
Good stuff! I only ever had a control line plane as a youngster. Nice flying.
Stunning Norfolk countryside
Cheshire in fact. 😉👍🏻
I have never tried radio control but the speed and manoeuvrability looks amazing. The camera really bring the experience to life. Nice Video!
It really is! Thanks for the feedback! 👍🏻
I used to fly RC helicopters and gliders. Currently I have a 1/5 scale Losi Desert Buggy DBXL-E 2.0. it’s a big bugger over. 2 feet long, weighs around 34 pounds and tops 60mph. I don’t use mine anywhere near anyone because if it went rogue it could kill a child and break an adults leg, even though it’s fitted with dual loss of signal cut outs. Due to my injuries it hasn’t run for some time now as I can’t transport it or work it on crutches.

When I spent time with Ayrton, testing a Lamborghini F1 engine in his McLaren at Pembrey in South Wale, Ayrton would get out his
RC aircraft and demonstrate them all for us in the breaks. As you would expect he was very skilful.
Re the batteries I store mine in a shed inside a .50:calibre ammo can ventilated but the lid is fully latched down, so if they go off the can will hold them even if they blow as the vents release the pressure.
I have watched videos of 1/4 scale and 1/5 scale jets. Very realistic.....
This video really got my interest for someone fascinated by flying and military aviation. For a person in their late 50s with similar visual acuity to yourself, and possessing no flying experience whatsoever, would you recommend a remote-control glider of similar size for a beginner, rather than an engine-powered aircraft which may be more difficult for a novice to manage in flight?
Yes, absolutely. 👍🏻
I enjoy flying my drone, these seem too fast for me. I can get 30 mins and 3 mile radius with my drone. Managed to get some great photos with it. Similar but different hobby!
Not flying your drone near any airports I hope? 😨 Come on Chris, aint you seen tiny Tom Cruise in Maverick? 😂
@Peter-Oxley-Modelling-Lab no of course not. The software will not allow it to fly in those areas, prisons or nuclear sites etc.
I have flown it over the sea before to get coast shots! Total faith in the technology (DJI)
You don't look the type to have those but fair play mate. I may look into getting one at some point as I've never had a rc aircraft but would love one. Nice collection 👍
You should. 👍🏻 But "Never judge a book by it's cover!' 😉
Awesome Peter....have you ever thought about getting into Gas Turbine R/C jets?@Peter-Oxley-Modelling-Lab
@@jaws848 Yes I intended to, but proper expensive...😖
@@Peter-Oxley-Modelling-Lab exactly....thats why i haven't....and not many club fields here that are suitable with a concrete runway which most of the need
@@Peter-Oxley-Modelling-Lab there is 1 in Longford that i have heard of but im in Dublin and dont drive (also need a vechile to transpirt the model) although i have heard some of the Gas Turbine jet Jockeys sometimes use the Air Corps base at Casement Aerodrome,Baldonnel in south west Dublin from time to time
