Event Summary: As the desire to longer wells continues every year, running long casing or liner strings in high angle holes is becoming a limiter in the total depth a well can be drilled to. Floatation is a proven method for casing/liner deployment in long reach wells; however, there are numerous challenges associated with floatation that must be considered prior to execution. We will show two case studies where casing floatation was used from US Land and the Gulf of Mexico.
