Event Summary: Drilling Extended Reach wells at shallow TVD can present additional challenges relative to more typical ERD wells. Here we will discuss how shallow TVD ERD wells can vary from more typical ERD wells and how that effects their design and execution. Topics discussed will include torque and drag, hydraulics (covering ECD and Surge/Swab management) and also discussing some unique challenges that can be presented when performing ancillary operations such as the setting of whipstocks or packers.
