There is a history behind this Sigiriya rock which you can google and learn about ancient history behind it. I think the guide doesn't have much knowledge about it or lack of explanation. The Wood apple has to be eaten with sugar or jaggery or you can make juice and mix it with Ice cream. It's delicious. Enjoy the rest of your tour with safe riding 👍
SL is not expensive if you choose your options wisely😊 This tour guide is not giving you the fullest experience. You should've rest that day in the hotel and go to see the sunrise in the Pidurangala rock. Thats magical❤
It's sad how you had a tour guide who either doesn't know jack-shit or doesn't have a good command of English to explain how important and special Lion Rock is. Lion Rock is basically an ancient rock fortress, royal palace and later Buddhist monastery. Each element of the fortress complex has deep meaning and history. Either way, hope you had an absolutely amazing time in Sri Lanka, and can't wait to have you back! 😍🤠
Agree, the guide only talks about the view point. The water gardens, fountains, frescos are skipped and he is just too ignorant to say the least that they are standing on top of a great ancient palace built by hand in the 5th century.
9:17 that’s not how you eat wood apple. It should be mixed with jaggery n kept for some time. After 4-5 hours go for it. You’ll have totally different taste. Awesome vlog ❤ Ryleigh, as always 😊
My god bruh, Roma is a cool guy but, there's a story, history behind everything in this video. You didn't hear it from him. You just climbed a rock. Wood Apple is great, but you didn't get to enjoy a wood apple juice or anything. Bruh if you are seeing this give them the real feeling. Even a 5 years old baby can walk them here and there. Sri lanka is full of surprises because of its nature, culture, people and history. A tour guide should be able to at least give them a hint. Good luck anyway❤ Enjoy🎉
Yeah Roma is not a great guide. I guess he's just a driver hired by the company asked to do a guide job as well. He didn't even suggest them to try King coconut at the fruit stall Instead he was looking for wood apple which is not eaten raw 🤣
OMG... It shouldn't be done after an exhausted bike ride. Anyway, you have done it perfectly💪♥ Lion rock is not just a view point. It's a Kingdom. There is a lot more to watch in there.
Hi Ryleigh, I am from Melbourne; I have been living in Melbourne for 32 years. I visit Sri Lanka every year as I love this culture-rich wonderful country. I have lived in Sri Lanka for 29 years. Sri Lanka's history goes more than 20,000 years. Sigiri Rock palace (Lion Rock Palace) is supposed to have been initially constructed more than 6000 years ago. It had been a very technologically advanced nation then. The Siv-Hela king constructed the palace with water fountains on the top of the palace and the water was taken hundreds of meters below the rock top. How did they do that!? Imagine the technology they have had in Sri Lanka (then the country was called "Sinhale or Sihele"). After the dynasty of King Rawana, the palace was abandoned for a period of a few thousand years and then King Kashyapa rebuilt the rock palace abour 1500 years ago. This is a living monument to prove the level of advanced science and technology the country of Sihale (Ceylon as the British invaders called it and Sri Lanka as it has been called for the last 5 decades) had 6000 years ago. Unfortunately, most of this technology was destroyed and looted by the European invaders who brutalized this country since year 1505. First the country was invaded by Portuguese. Then came the Dutch invaders. Finally came the worst and most uncivilized and brutal invaders, the British. They killed millions of Siv-Hela people of this country of Sihele. After a 30-year war against the world's most brutal terrorist group called LTTE, the people defeated them in 2009. The brutaluty and the muderous nature of these terrorists were inexplicable. The LTTE terrorists killed more than 100,000 innocent civilians including sucking infants on the lap of mothers, helpless elderly and Buddhist Monks who are going about their daily routines helping the lay people. They destryed the Goberment property that cannot be replaced even with 500 billion US dollars. Still some Western elements who invaded the country 500 years ago still keep troubling this great country and still support the terrorist groups like the defeated LTTE terror group. The country who had been affected by a 30-year terrorist war got further affected by 3 years of CoViD pandemic. The country's main income sources are tourism, agricultural exports and foreign employment. All three income sources came to a grinding halt during the 3 CoViD years. The country started recovering slowly; but then the foreign and the local enemies used the financial state of the country to create havoc and topple a democratically elected government. However, Siv-Hela people have had a steel determination that couldn't break even 500-year brutal invation, 30-year terrorism or western religions, which always sought the support of terrorists to destroy the cultural bond of the country, which is based on Buddhist teachings of compassion, kindness and friendliness.

Raw wood apple is kinda sour. But the real magic happens when you add sugar, a little bit of salt, coconut milk, and water to a wooden apple paste. The drink is the best! Mouth-watering! Or you can add sugar into wood apple and mix it and eat.
Opting for budget-friendly restaurants ($3 to $4 for lunch) can cut your expenses by 60% without compromising your travel experience. While Sri Lanka isn't overly pricey, it's important to carefully choose accommodation and dining options to manage costs while maintaining a great experience. It is a pleasure to watch your vlog.
Hi Ryleigh, Very nice to see you, identifying an innoncent and genuine fruit salesman when gave a tip of Rs 1000. That woodapple really worth more than ten rupees, most foodstalls will charge tourists huge sums and even cheat, but there seem to be people like that who didn't even want to charge you ten rupees when he weighed the woodapple which is a genuine hospitality. And you rewarded a right person when he deserves that, well done!!!👍👍👍
From the entrance you passed 1500 years old moats, landscaped gardens, water fountains, traps for enamies, 1500 year old Sigiri frescoes of king's ladies( frescoes in ajantha caves in india are only older in the world), whats left of lion entrance reduced to lion paws with time and many other archeological sites.

Super dad keep going visit now in sri laka visit your father in my city in pokhara all so dear❤❤❤❤❤keep enjoya your journey thank you❤❤❤❤
Sri Lanka is now becoming known as a destination that charges exorbitant fees for tourist attractions. This does not help in attracting tourists and it starts with the cost of a visa! As Ryleigh says look at the other asian countries!!
The tour guide seams to be nice yet he dont explain about the attractions . Mainly what is the lion rock and the purpose it was built not the number of steps that you have to climb .
Good job 👍😁
