Thankfully SpaceX provides really good coverage of their launches, complete with pretty spectacular onboard video feeds courtesy Starlink. So yeah, it was _almost_ like being there. But not quite. Maybe next time. 😀
Great video. South Padre is always sensitive to weather and wind. On the nice days there is no better place. On bad days (disregarding hurricanes) it is always better than the north.
Yes, that also a great spot to see some of the smaller spacecraft get launched. We've been there, too, and it was an amazing experience! So cool that you could see the launches from Baja!
Wow! That was a very quick drive to the South. 😆I wish you could include some of the actual travel form point A to point B. You probably did that in the previous video to Padre Island but I think every trip is a different experience with it's own challenges. It would be useful to see and learn from for someone like me who is just learning about RV-ing. You traveled all the way to the South and could not accomplish your mission. It must be disappointing. Good luck for next time!
Thanks for the info. We were thinking of doing the South Padre Island trip next year. We did the same Baja trip you did last year this year and it was fantastic. Great weather and great beaches. A missing drivers mirror and the Easter break was the only hang up. Maybe will do Mazatlán next year instead lol.
Sorry the trip was not as great as you imagined, and I came to the same conclusion a handful of episodes ago. This year has been pretty windy and rainy throughout the west coast so you probably would have had weather issues wherever you headed. But, you saw some cool things, and had some good experiences together. What is your planned stops on the way north, and when will you arrive home? Looking forward to episodes at stopping points, that hopefully give you better weather conditions. Drive safe!
Although we might be complaining a bit about the weather, don't get us wrong, we definitely had a successful trip. We got to spend time with family that we otherwise never get to visit with, see some new places and experience the Texan culture and hospitality the state is known for.
@@HomeARoam I didn't think you were complaining, you both are easy going and you just tell it how it is. I was pointing out how the weather created difficulties. I always enjoy your videos.
Good shot of the launch at the end. From the viewer’s perspective, you were there for the actual launch!

@@HomeARoam Yes, and there will always be a next time!
Hello - you all are in my back yard! Welcome to the RGV!
Thanks! There are some great spots to explore and we LOVE grapefruit season 😀 Those red grapefruits are amazing!
Great adventure! Staying flexible and adaptable proved to be the best approach to a successful journey. Safe travels on the way home.
We've definitely learned a lot about staying flexible and being ready to rethink our plans.
Great video. South Padre is always sensitive to weather and wind. On the nice days there is no better place. On bad days (disregarding hurricanes) it is always better than the north.
For sure. We didn't want to sound like we were complaining because the weather could have been much worse as you mentioned.
Glad you stayed off the beach this time. Not worth the stress. Wow, you can get really close to the launch pad. Exciting.
We were astounded at how close we could get to the launch pad. Of course all that closes when they are ready to launch.
SpaceX is routinely launching from Vandenberg in California. A beautiful area to RV too. When we were recently in Baja, we saw 3 launches there.

Your kind words are very much appreciated. Thanks for commenting every week!

We would LOVE to go over to Mainland Mexico at some point, but we definitely want a van before we do so we can get around easier. Happy travels!

Nice video you guys
Thank you so much 😀
Actually other than 1 week, the weather was probably better here 😁. But thanks for the warning, we wouldn’t head there …
The weather definitely had a lot more ups and downs than we were expecting.
