- Nephthys. Even though she is the sister of the most famous Egyptian gods: Isis, Set, and Osiris, she is the least known goddess from among all the children of Geb (god of the earth) and Nut (goddess of sky). Nephthys’ titles, “The Lady of the West”, “Darkness and Shroud”, "Whose Head is Hidden”, “Who Hides Herself", indicate that she was dark and gloomy, but, quite contrary to what one might conclude, she was not “the evil one".
Who was Nephtys? What was her real nature? How was the cult of Nephthys changing over the centuries? Why was she such a popular goddess among ordinary Egyptians? Let's find answers to these questions in Egyptian myths and original ancient sources.
Due to the fact this time it is a calm podcast, I recommend listening to it to sleep as a bedtime story for grown-ups. :)

Thank you for this excellent video, with so much detailed and interesting information. I never heard that perhaps Set killed Osiris after he found out that Nepthys slept with Osiris. I knew Nepthys slept with Osiris, but I never put two and two together. I wonder why some Pharoahs honored Set and what they found appealing about this diety. I am fascinated with Nut and would like to learn more about her and Thoth.

Very intriguing. I almost tend to write down the whole spoken text with ink on paper and put illustrations in between with photos of my paintings, which I made about 40 years ago, not knowing exactly what I was depicting. First about 10 years later someone gave me Lewis Spence's book and everything started to become alive. The whole constellation Osiris-Isis-Nephtys seems to be a cosmic timeless spiritual concept. Someone once put me back together in a way, obsorbing my whole lifestyle at that time, and sharing me her breath of awareness for ever. Was difficult to remain concious on earth-fysical level. This was in a way conducted by a large light, dwelling on the top of that mysterious mountain of the west (first much later I discovered that this was a real place). In an other country (Ireland, on a mysterious hill, known for centuries to protect anyone living there against epidemic diseases) 2 years after someone wearing exactly the same coloured cloths jumped in me, not able to think more than a child of 2 or 3 years, but totally living spiritually as my door into the other world. I painted her face like a sun, shining just above the horizon of the sea before going under. It's a wellknown 'item' in Celtic mythology as well.

Irina, you have a brilliant channel that I can’t get enuff of. It has everything an armchair Egyptologist would want in the comfort of their home. Your topics, narration content, voice/accent and background music are like an addiction that I must pull myself from (sadly). Otherwise I’d watch your vids on a loop all day/week/month long. From 8:00-11:00, the images and narration and soundtrack is more then exemplary. (BTW can you share what was playing on that segment soundtrack?) To me, it’s almost dreamlike! I have watched this video countless times all ready! And when night comes, I’ll fire up my frankincense and myrrh and fantasize and conjure up memories of when, as a 10 yo boy, reliving that first feeling I got reading and looking at what the the ancients left for us. “Awake and experience the awe and mystery of the Ancient Ones!” With a tear in my eye, I Thank You very much.

I dreamt we were scuba diving at an ancient underwater Egyptian site with the protection of Nephthys by our side. The ASG team was the historical guides and filming crew. The dive master and crew were very knowledgeable about the dive conditions and led us on a wonderful experience. In the evening we all had an excellent dinner. Sleeping was no problem. We were exhausted 😴.
I almost had the chance to scuba dive the Red sea one time.

Ha ha! I believe that to be a lie of sorts! I can sense it. I’m very perceptive you know. In the rare event that you’re telling the truth I would suggest microsurgery to reattach the nerves and veins and if you must use superglue, make sure it’s a genuine surgical type. 😱 🦶

Not sure again the full description. The symbol of her depiction is a contraction. Her title like you said is Lady of the House. The house of the Duat. The square is the house end the other square the door. The bowl was a hieroglyph for something ongoing. Nebet-Het was the guiding deity in the Duat of the Ba of a deceased. Auset guided people in magic in the material world. Nebet-Het did the guiding and protection in the spiritual world for re-incarnation as part of the ennead. You might learn more of what that means with the spiritual numbers One to Nine of Pythagoras.

So if you stick to the Egyptian calendar that we still use today thanks to Cleopatra, you will find that their theurgy was very much aligned with the philosophy of nature.
