Guess you need to remove the tow bar and the wheels whenever it is out of sight - you are lucky to get it back! AirTags are a simple investment if you can track it before the thieves find the tags. The Kohler engines are great!

In my 21 years of law enforcement, the Washington State Legislature has watered down penalties for property crime (and most other crime), along with tying our hands. It's to the point it's just about worth the risk. A GPS device will help you know where to look, but most likely the information won't be specific enough for police to obtain a warrant. It could help though, say if you happen to see it or if the location is perhaps acreage owned by one person and the tracking information is specific enough for the judge. You just have to remember, in WA state the thief has all the rights.

I bought a gps and a solar panel for my tractor they was the best two investments I ever made I get a text and email as soon as I start my tractor. Had my tractor for about 7 years thought it was time to get a new battery hooked the solar panel now my battery starts it like it’s brand new. I was skeptical about solar power but now I’m a believer.

What brand of GPS do you use? I’ve really been considering that after this got stolen.

The gps I bought off eBay was the optimus GB100M 4G LTE the reason I went with that one is it’s a direct hook up to the battery or a power source I didn’t want one where you would need to recharge it ever so often. It doesn’t drain your battery I have a solar panel hooked up but that’s because my battery was old and about to die if you have a good battery it shouldn’t be an issue. The service plan is 12.95. Month.

@@DanielWoodell just do a google search and read the reviews. Most of them have a geo-fence option. As soon as it leaves that area, you get alerts on your phone. Like with the saw, you said they took the battery off. You'll want to make sure the tracker is well hidden and the gps tracker has it's own battery backup. Conceal the cabling by running it down inside the frame, etc. Takes a little effort, but they won't follow the wires as easily to discover the tracker.

Greedy is probably a good way to describe. A little bit I know about the people that stole lends me to believe they could never afford something like it. The emotion and frustration that comes with having something stolen from you is not easily portrayed on RUclips.

Was your mill covered by insurance? I have lt40 and worry about somebody pulling up to it and towing it off. I have it insured as a separate item on homeowners insurance.

That’s exactly what I did. My home owners insurance did cover the cost. when it was recovered, I called the insurance company and have them update the claim.
