Thanks I never fully understood how to use one of those. Best use I found is leave it in the drawer and replace all the sections with bolts. But yeah I understand if you want to go that way.

Does your friend by chance know where I can get a replacement punch? I bought my rivet-eze tool from EBAY with the punch already broken. Now I'm having a hard time finding a replacement punch. Thanks your video was very helpful.

Ya know, when I got my sickle mower, I went right out and bought one of these and by gosh, I cant use it. Because its made for what you have, not a sickle mower. So I thought id be smart and just remove sickle bar and do it that way. Ha, after about a dozen, I just set the bar up in a vice and smacked them with a hammer and wahalh, their off and then beat the rivets back on with a hammer. An older fella that used sickle mowers a lot showed me that. I should see if I can find that tool and sell it. Lol I get youd probably have a lot more work to remove your bar, but that was so much easier when he showed me that.

Are u able to measure the threads size and pitch. I have one of the first ones they’ve made and need parts but they only have parts for this version and newer and don’t put any specs on the website. That would be a HUGE help to me

@@staffordshires2 I changed many of the rivets in my frame. Core support and crossmembers. I had found a man with the correct factory rivets for my 1972 Chevy truck. I used a drill bit in a piece of 1/2' x 2" steel about 4" long. Put the rivets in the hole and used the plate and 2 vice grips as the backer. Took a straight air tool bit and drilled the end to a dimple. Heated the rivet red hot with my torch and used the air chisel gun to hammer over. You can't tell mine from the original. I know this is a year old but I just saw it today so there it is.

Oh man I had to use one of these as a kid replacing the knives on our swather! My dad pulled the whole bar one time and I had to help him get it back in.. The blade got stuck on the way in and I saw where it was sticking.. So I pushed on it with my middle finger thinking I could pull it away quickly enough.. Nope! Those knives are extremely sharp and had my finger went further it would have chopped it right off! I got lucky and just got a deep cut.. The moral of the story being.. Find the stem of a tumble weed to do the pushing.. NOT YOUR FINGER!

Wow, you’re very lucky! Those blades cut small trees in the hayfield!!
